In US, hedge funds can leverage unlimited & run positions worth hundreds of $billions bringing in systemic risk. In India, no one can hold overnight positions more than ~5 times leverage (SPAN+Exposure for F&O, VAR+ELM for stocks). Even intraday leverages are now capped 2/n

In US your stock holdings are held by the brokers (held in book or street name, also the reason for the large stock lending market). If a broker goes down, your securities is at risk as well. In India, they sit in your Demat with NSDL/CDSL, ring-fenced from any broker risk 3/n

In the US your broker has an option to send the order placed on the trading platform to the exchange or a high-frequency trading firm that pays for the order. As you’d guess most orders are sent to HFT firms. In India, all order matching has to happen on the exchanges 4/n

In US a broker can act almost like a bank. Hold your funds for as long, take risk & lend them to other clients as well. In India, a broker can lend only their own funds and not client funds. Also, all unutilized funds need to be returned back once a quarter to the client bank 5/n

Gamestock, a video retailer, has had its share price go sky high in the last few days.

Why is this so?

There has been a tug of war between two parties.

Large companies known as hedge funds versus retail investors led by wallstreetbets, a group on Reddit.

The hedge funds and a few other players in the market had shorted the stock.

Shorting, in essence, is a bet that the price of a stock will dip.

So, you borrow the stock, sell it, buy it back at a lower price and then return it to the lender.

The hedge funds decided to short the stock because it has poor fundamentals.

It struggled for a while.

So you would expect the price to dip, right?

A small band of investors on Reddit wallstreetbet, however, were furious by this.

So, they decided to buy up the stock, which pushed the price high.

MarkZ reported that Paymasters were told to be back to work on Mon. 28 Dec.

Powerful industry tailwinds in the streaming space and Roku is a leading beneficiary due to market share.

Additions of HBO Max and Peacock on the platform were late in 2020, so 2021 numbers should see an impact.

India’s largest lender SBI is gradually capturing the very lucrative unsecured personal loan(PL) market.

As per credit bureau CRIF Highmark Unsecured PL market has seen significant growth in recent years. This has been driven a lot by liquidity crunch due to lockdown and emergency medical needs.

Total unsecured PL portfolio as per CRIF was estimated to be at 4.1 lakh crore as on March 19. This increased to 6.5 lakh crore by March 21.

Interestingly, in spite of fintech and NBFC penetration, public sector banks still had majority share – they originated 50% of incremental unsecured PL loans in FY 21 by value.

SBI’s PL portfolio during the period also increased from 1 lakh crore in March 19 to 2.4 lakh crore. This growth was driven by their Xpress credit product which uses credit bureau and other data to sanction loans within just eight minutes!

1/ Still lots of questions about #RaastBySBP and how it's different from current online transfer mechanisms. People keep insisting it's the same as current digital payment switches, but it's NOT in a huge way! Read on and share so there is clarity...

2/ #RaastbySBP is not an app or a consumer product of any sort. It is the backend infrastructure or plumbing that is connected to EVERYONE (Banks, Fintechs, EMIs, etc) that allows for service providers to build consumer or business service on top of it.

3/ @StateBank_Pak in collaboration w @KarandaazPK is implementing the first few of those services (called use cases) by using RAAST platform to connect government departments to individuals it needs to make payments to. Bulk CDC payments of dividends to shareholders is the first.

4/ Bulk BISP payments to women will follow and then more use cases will be built by private sector to enable P2P payments, Business to Consumer payments and Consumer to Business payments. That capability built into Raast will enable what was previously not possible.

5/ Let me explain by example. Raast allows payments like the following:

3. Figure of if whoever sold you these things, be if your advisor or distributor are providing value equal those commissions or not. This is an incredibly hard thing to figure. You need to do deep research, understand money yourself and then ask your advisor/distributors

Stock that breaks the uptrend are the one that can give massive upmove.
These stocks are considered as strong stocks in the market.

Timeframe should be monthly and if price closes above ATH on any day you can enter.

Example 1:

Bajaj Finance gave a breakout above ATH at around 55 and then it moved up till 5000 levels.

Total returns of 9000% in 10 years.

Simple Strategy, isn't it?

Example 2:

Reliance Chart.

It gave breakout above its All Time High level after 10 years and then never looking back.

Price moved up from 700 to 2600.
Returns of 270% in five years.

How to Follow Stoploss?

Initially keep stoploss at swing low on monthly chart and trail your stoploss accordingly to enjoy massive upmove.

Other ways of Trailing Stoploss can be using 200 EMA or any other indicator.

1. Let us first understand the role of Reserve Bank of India in managing the Indian economy.

👉 The Households: These are the people who are consumers and they spend the money to buy the goods and services which are sold by the businesses. Any consumer would be happy if the prices of the goods and services are low. Hence, they would be interested in ‘Less Inflation’.

2. As the prices of goods and services rise, there will be economic growth in nominal sense but then there will also be inflation which is perceived as a problem in developing countries like India.

#JPM2021 @GenapSys My Highlights: I think it's fair to say I am more excited than most about this #NGS company, as I see them as an example of how to enter the market while keeping a small profile ($249M raised so far).

They now are aiming at 2021 to ship two new chips: 50MM read chip and 144MM sensor chip (not sure what the difference is between read/sensor).

They show a slide of price per Gb with #Illumina products as a reference, and their products now lined up, I think, for the first time with price per Gb info. Lowest will be the 144MM chip at ~$27/Gb.

As their technology is closer to the #IonTorrent than to the cycle-by-cycle SBS-based sequencing methods, they should have microindel errors in their profile. These look much better, almost null, than the S5 data they show in comparison.

The next slide, also about error rates, either for each base as the run progresses or sliced in GC% windows, has a lot of info, but difficult to read. I think the summary is that the @Genapsys profile shows a bit of microindel error but otherwise comparable to 100bp ILMN data.
