Views on women in the army:
So yesterday I conducted a Poll to understand the views of my followers with respect to what capacity should women serve in, within the army. It gained more traction than I had thought. With hindsight I should have divided it into male and female. 1/n
Maybe next time.
So personally I am against women being in the army in any capacity. That is, they can be employed as civilians if needed, but not as military personnel. I would like to thank @fiercelyvirgo and @agnisrivatsa Sir for their inputs. 2/n
I will explain my stand via all the arguments of those who are for women participating in the army in varying capacity
Women can be in non-combat roles: Strictly speaking, non-combat roles have been created specifically for women. 3/n
Men in these so called non-combat roles do in fact get into combat when required. For similar pay, you are actually getting more out of a male nurse in the army than a female one.
4/n
Women are also physically strong, if they qualify, why not: Women are biologically stronger than men as evidenced by their ability to give birth and their longer life expectancy. Women are also less likely to be stupid , compared to men. 5/n

#swfc are finally back in league action tonight 8pm GMT away to Coventry #pusb
A relegation six pointer to kick off our second half of the season with 7 points separating us in 23rd and them in 16th.
A look of our numbers and theirs below and what they can tell us.

I looked at the survival prognosis for teams in our position yesterday (https://t.co/rmVT8b5sFl).
Thankfully a prognosis is not a prediction, but it does bear out just how important tonight's game is.
Can we quantify match importance then?
Well, @FiveThirtyEight have given it a right good go and how they've done it is explained here: https://t.co/ObjB079Fjw
Their match importance rating ranges from 0 to 100 for a team.
In a game with a high match importance vs. a team with low match importance, a team's likelihood of winning increases: All else being equal, if match importance is 100 for the home team and 0 for the away team, the home team's odds of winning drop from Evens (50%) to 8/11 (58%).
If we look at the combined match importance ratings for both teams, tonight's game ranks 14th of the 317 matches with match importance ratings. Pretty important then!
Of our matches only the win against Bournemouth had a higher combined match importance than tonight's match:

#swfc Derby's latest win over QPR leaves Wednesday six points adrift of 21st and safety with two matches in hand.

How have teams in those circumstances done in the previous 22 seasons?

It's always been detached, and it's always made the real economy worse.

What is profit? It's excess labor.
You and your coworkers make a chair. Your boss sells that chair for more than he pays for the production of that chair and pockets the extra money.
So he pays you less than what he should and calls the unpaid labor he took "profit." 2/10
Well, the stock market adds a layer to that.
So now, when you work, it isn't just your boss that is siphoning off your excess labor but it is also all the shareholders.
There's a whole class of people who now rely on you to produce those chairs without fair compensation. 3/10
And in order to support these people, you and your coworkers need to up your productivity. More hours etc.
But Wall Street demands endless growth in order to keep the game going, so that's not enough.
So as your productivity increases, your relative wages suffer. 4/10
Not because the goods don't have value or because your labor is worth less. Often it's actually worth more because you've had to become incredibly productive in order to keep your job.
No, your wages suffer because there are so many people who need to profit from your work. 5/10

I know people think this is fun but -- why do we have a stock market? So productive firms can raise capital to do useful things. Detaching stock price from fundamental value (Gamestop is now worth almost as much as Best Buy) makes the markets serve the real economy worse.
