THREAD on Strauss’ Epilogue: I promised awhile ago a thread on why one should read Leo Strauss. I’ll probably make a more general thread on that, but 1st, here is one on “An Epilogue”—an essay Strauss wrote for an edited volume called “Essays on the Scientific Study of Politics”

This essay is Strauss’ critique of contemporary political science. Why’s that important for anyone outside the university? Because how we study political phenomena determines how we judge, and ultimately act, on political things.

What Strauss does here is comparable to Schmitt’s Concept of the Political. Schmitt shows how the modern liberal order attempts to conceal and abolish the essence of the political. Strauss shows that it also distorts the study of political things.

First, Strauss describes the old political science, the kind that prevailed from Aristotle to the end of the 19th c. The old pol. sci. (which was not distinguished from political philosophy) was a practical science. It’s purpose was architectonic—to order all other arts.

This pol sci depends on man being a political and rational animal. He is fundamentally different from other animals because he is receptive of praise and shame. He knows, to a greater or lesser degree, something about right and wrong beyond mere self preservation and breeding.

SEN. LANKFORD: December 2016, a poll said 32% of Americans believed that the Russians had influenced the outcome of the election. Based on that belief, we spent millions investigating it, we had 6 congressional hearings, etc because 32% of Americans didn't trust that election.

2/ A few days ago, a poll said 46% of Americans believe there was election & voter fraud in the 2020 election. 80% of Trump supporters and 16% of Biden supporters believe there was fraud. Now, amazingly after the 2020 election, everyone is saying "lets move on and ignore this."

3/ In my state on election night, like 27 other states in the country, by that evening, we were counting votes, and all absentee ballots had been received. There was much less opportunity for fraud because all of our absentee ballots were in.

4/ Amazingly, a week after this election, some states were still telling us, they weren't sure how many ballots were left to count. That gives opportunity for fraud, questions, and problems. It's reasonable to ask if there was fraud when you mail a ballot to everyone in a state.

5/ Even if they didn't ask for a ballot. Especially, when the state did not first purge or verify those addresses & they sent thousands of ballots to people that no longer live there. That's a problem. There were at least 91,000 registered voters that are dead. That's a problem.

FRSC PROMOTES 2880 OFFICERS AND MARSHALS TO THE NEXT RANK

The Federal Road Safety Commission has on 14 December, 2020 after due consideration of the report submitted by its Est. Committee in respect to the 2019 promotion,

...approved the promotion of 435 Officers to their next ranks, as the Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi also approved the promotion of 769 Marshal Inspectors and 1676 Road Marshal Assistants to the next rank.

According to the Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, out of the 435 Officers, 33 were promoted from the rank of Chief Route Commander to Assistant Route Commander, 15 moved from Superintendent Route Commander to Chief Route Commander,

..while 73 Officers were promoted from the rank of Route Commander to Superintendent Route Commander.

In addition, 214 Officers were elevated from the rank of Deputy Route Commander to Route Commander, and 100 Assistant Route Commanders advanced to Deputy Route Commander.

In 1980's and early 90's, The demand of Khalistan in Punjab was at peak. B/w 1979 - 1989, 5000 civilians were killed in Punjab by Pro Khalistani Terrorists. In 1990 - 1991, more than 5,058 civilians and hundreds of police personnel were killed.

My problem with the enemy (and I refuse to give them a more nuanced name than that) is nothing ideological.

It's that they're crazy, evil, and a solidly double digits percentage of them are possessed by demons.

There's nothing I can discuss that'll make them stop being crazy, evil or demon possessed. No amazing argument that'll turn them around.

They just need to be resisted (and preferably actively suppressed) by whatever means are available, as a moral imperative.

They feel the same way about me and anyone I sympathise with and any who claim otherwise are absolutely, 100% take it to the bank because it's as good as gold, lying.

You can't live with these people or negotiate with them. Pretty much the only time I recall them being even remotely tolerable was near the start of Brack Obama's presidential term.

That was an interesting time. "Oh hooray! Bush is finally gone! We can finally have fun again instead of being 24/7 butthurt about him in every available form of media. Hey, do you mind if we do away with Don't Ask, Don't Tell, it's a bit silly, don't you think?"
