How to instantly stop being depressed.

The ONE thing you need to do is let go.
Except letting go is never easy.
In order to do it, there is no choice but to face everything.
My favorite method is pen and paper.
Write down EXACTLY what is making you feel depressed.
Visualize your demons.
Once you write down everything, it is time to think about a very simple question
What can I do about each of these stuff that is bothering me?
If you can do something about it, put a check.
If you can't do anything, leave it blank. We'll get back to this.
Now for all the stuff you can fix,
Define exactly what you should do to get it done.
Explicitly write what you need to do to stop worrying about this and that.
Fix a deadline.
You now have goals.
Achieve them.

Before some so-called Events intervened, @MCHammer and I had agreed to talk about 1. the nature of consciousness and 2. the value of thinking. (I will later put up a thread about planaria, the beautiful animals that started off the conversation!)

(Caveat: I am not a biologist or a philosopher of mind, so I welcome more expert interventions in the thread.) But here is how I see it. It is amazing to think that whole organisms (bacteria) may be a crucial part of human cognition and perception.
The difficulty I see with the piece is that its challenges to the notion of organism (early in the piece, where he argues that we are holobionts) don't seem to work. The mystery of consciousness-- and life-- is not just reactivity and flexibility.
There is a *unity* to my consciousness, just as there is a unity to my life. On the latter: when I lose consciousness, or die, do my gut bacteria change? Not necessarily, I'd guess. Nor am I persuaded that a single organism's life or death is a "spectrum".

Iâve talked extensively about building our your vision, so have people like @FrazzleDazzzled & many others on here.
It starts there. Iâve done this maybe 10-15 times.
Literally just write out IN DEPTH what you want to be in 5 or 10 years.
Has to all be first person, past tense, affirmative, statements personal to you.
Hereâs a good primer about this subject that Iâve written:
But anyway, you have the grandiose overlaying idea of who you want to be.
Some of it may be an interest, but not in the immediate short term action plan.
You need to make a call on that. Like me, I love music. Wanna produce/create/etc
But have bigger priorities right now.
So this is where the âhive mindâ comes into play.
I create a short term priority list, and systemize a scheduled process around getting done goals from that.
Did that again this morning.

If you have True Desire, then you should fully believe in your capability to actualize said desire.
When you fully "BELIEVE" ("be","live") you ARE already said desire.
It may not be physical yet, but physical reality always follows..
