"The 200 EMA play."

As most of you may know, that 200 EMA is mostly used to find the Value zone at any time frame, many times we see reversals happening at this zone.

Thread on How to use 200 EMA as a trading setup.

I use this setup mostly on daily and weekly time frames.

So ,what to look for -

1. First check whether the index is in uptrend or not, simple way to know this is if the index is above 20 and 50 DEMA then its in uptrend.

2. So if the index is in uptrend we will try to find the stocks for buying and if the index is in downtrend , find stocks for selling.

3. Now the best setup would be if the stocks is getting close to 200 EMA after a long time, buying/selling would be more furious in that case.

4. The best condition will be if the stock first touches the 200 EMA and shows rejection from that , it would be the ideal condition.

5. We have to buy above above the high of the rejection candle.

6. Stop loss can be 2 ATR away from the entry, ATR will be based on previous candle of the entry.

7. And trail sl with every 1R move in our favor.

Example 1 - Canara bank

- After a long time stock was approaching the 200 DEMA and also Nifty is in uptrend , then stock shows rejection from 200 EMA, now all conditions are satisfied.

- Now we will buy once stock breaks above the rejection candle, which is in this case 114.

- Our sl will be 2 ATR , ATR at previous candle is 4.5 , so our sl will be twice of that which will be 9.

- Sl is 105.

- Trail sl hit at 134 levels.

@PharmaBull20_22 bhaiya uses this setup a lot, you can check many examples on his TL.

As like any other strategy this will also have losing and scratch trades, but our work is to take every best setup possible , by doing that we will do good in long term.

Let's talk about the law of large numbers and how it benefits traders to be profitable.

Most people start tweaking the rules, chart settings and the indicator settings because now they think they have found the holy grail.

But they again end up changing them after next losing trade.

If you believe in the law of large numbers then;

Changing the buying rule from buy 1 point above the breakout to buy above 5 points or any tweak like that will not make much difference in the long run.

Law of large numbers is best illustrated by the example of a coin flip :

It has a 50% chance of landing on heads.

If we flip the coin twice, we have almost exactly equal chances of any scenario happening: heads twice, tails two evenly split.

The probability of getting 5 heads and 5 tails on ten flips is just 8% but that probability keeps increasing as we increase the sample size.

If one flips the coin 100 times, the probability of getting 50 heads and 50 tails (P=0.5) increases to 70% and so on.

When the market conditions are not in favour of a strategy, it's normal that it will suffer from drawdown.

In this period most traders can't face the heat,

Objectivity- Undistorted by emotions or personal bias.

What is objective Trading?

Trading in which decisions are taken on pre-decide rules, decisions in objective trading are not decided by Feelings or opinions.

What is subjective trading?

It is discretionary trading, in which one uses his intuitions and Analysis to take trading decisions.

Is one superior to other?

The rules in a mechanical system are going to be decided by you, the plan is going to be made by you,

the positions sizing and all other aspects are going to be made by you.

So your psychology is going to filter the information coming towards you, even in a mechanical system as well as in discretion.

WHATS THE USE OF OBJECTIVITY-

I am a Discretionary - Rule based trader.

So, I take trades based on my analysis, my entries are discretion based, but the exits , position sizing and Risk management rules are pre decided.

WHY USE SUBJECTIVE TRADING?

The biggest benefit that objective trading do is that it makes the chances of you thinking less during the time of taking an execution decision.

As a beginner trader you will not have much experience, and you will inevitably do a lot of mistakes.

Short straddle is non-directional strategy

Selling same strike price CALL/PUT option same underlying with same expiry.

Nifty Spot at 14353, So you can sell 14350 CE as well 14350 PE of 14 Jan. Expiry.

In Example, Short straddle of 14350, Breakeven is (14131.0-14569.0), need 1.7Lac Margin to sell straddle.

If market staying near at 14350 then win. Probability increase slowly. Rewards also increase slowly.

I'm having difficulty seeing the need for any other currency in the world other than G$.

If it works, and it is decentralized, then why would we need more than one global-reach currency?

If it does the job perfectly, then why do we need another?

I don't mean there won't be others. What I mean is that maybe Crypto UBI will be like the existing non-democratic crypto market ranking. There will be a first-place market cap amount, and exponential decay to the #2, #3, #4, etc.

This is in contrast to the simplistic view where we assume there will be X systems and they all have more or less the same abstract Y market cap or reach, and they all add up to an integrated system with X*Y market cap.

All you have to do is design the controls the way they want to be designed. If you don't introduce some unneeded damage in it, then there won't be the need to come up with another system that fixes the damage and actually does complete "the system" that we will use.

E.g. Bitcoin would have worked, except it introduced the damage that is Proof-of-Work, which means it is unusable and will be replaced by Ethereum, which will use PoS, thus fixing the damage.

What are trading errors?

Trading errors are those errors which happen because of wrong Position sizing, Leverage , etc.

I am not making this up, check your P&L, 90 % of your losses would have come from less then 10% trades.

Most of these happen because of No knowledge, No plan, bad position sizing .

Now, we know what's the problem, lets talk about the solution.

1. Learn the Basics first-

If you don’t get the basics clear then how can you make money?

Learn How to use Support and resistances
Learn How to use trend lines
Learn about trend, it will solve 90% of your problem

Agastya Muni & Kaveri River

This is a story which describes how River Kaveri was brought on earth by Agastya muni. There was a king named Kavera lived in the Brahmagiri hills who prayed to Brahma for a child. He was blessed with a daughter whom he named Kaveri.

Agastya muni married her. A demon, named Shoorapadma, wanted to trouble people so he prevented rain from reaching South India. As a result famine occurred in South India.
Agastya Muni who came that way was very sad seeing this. He started to pray Mahadeva for a solution.

Shiva gave him small amount of Ganga water in his Kamandalu (small pot) and said wherever you spill this water the river will flow from there. Agastya Muni travelled lot of places to find a suitable place to pour water. Feeling tired he kept his Kamandalu and took rest.

At that time Ganesha took a form of crow and perched on the Kamadalu and made a hole that water began to flow as river Kaveri. This place is now called as Talakaveri (Karnataka), located in the Brahmagiri hill.

Tala Kaveri has temple for Agastheeswara, which denotes the story between Kaveri and Agasthya muni. Kaveri is a part of Ganga, thus, also called Dakshina Ganga.
