The problem is that a lot of people on the left don't seem to realize just how much of the crunchy wellness space is taken up by various flavors of far right Christians, which made it a soft target for long game indoctrination.

Theres not a lot 1 can do abt this either. There are SOME divisions but not as many as one might like to think & there are an infinite number of fuzzy boundaries ie., as in vaccinations. This is a highly fluid & often volatile life stage to navigate married or single & 2/
things are muddy as hell (this is an area I've researched tracked, and personally experienced as part of that natural child birth community). Women are isolated by society and thats a problem on both the right and the left. Women are vilified & looked down on when they do 3/
have kids, and are pilloried if they stay home, go to work, if they breastfeed, for how long or not and are essentially cut off from an elder community that might help them navigate the enormous shift in their lives not to mention having to put up with petulant manbaby 4/
husbands who drag them via their own negative ideals, expections, insecurities fears angers hurts at the sudden usurping of their position as number 1 in a womans life when she has a baby, & especially the first baby. BOTH WHITE SUPREMACY AND FUNDAMENTALIST WHITE CHRISTIANITY 5/
I have come across the *best* story. It has everything. Leith, a crackpot millionaire, fantastical paddle-powered Georgian warships, war in the Baltic, and the introduction of neeps to Scotland!

Patrick attended the University of Glasgow, where he decided (or it was decided for him) to take up banking as a profession. By the age of 29 he was a partner in the firm of William Ramsay of Barnton (independently wealthy from money his father made in the Canongate inns trade)
Ramsay was also a merchant, and Patrick spent much time looking after the shipping business of the firm. He is said to have learned first hand the perils of the sea, sparking an insatiable interest in naval architecture.
By the age of 36, Patrick was elected to the Court of the Bank of Scotland, where he was a reformer and a pioneer - instituting the practice of accepting the promisory notes of competitor banks. Both he and the bank prospered. (pic NGS)
Miller invested his wealth wisely in the furnaces of the Scottish industrial revolution and became one of the largest shareholders in the Carron Iron Company, one of the largest iron works in Europe.
Born in Dublin into a professional Unionist family he went to the Metropolitan School & then the RHA Art School where he had the good luck to study under Walter Osborne. He left for France in 1901. (Images by Osborne)

A comprehensive story of how the Nobel Laureate in economics (a committed communist klutz to be precise) thoroughly botched up the revival of the Nalanda University using a mix of nepotism, incompetency, and ad hoc functioning.

Visva-Bharati Land Row: This Is Why Amartya Sen, Far From Being Wronged, Is Actually In The Wrong https://t.co/pWMkOv0uvn via @swarajyamag

First, the appointment of #AmartyaSen, who throughout his career has heaped scorn on everything that is rooted in the Indian tradition, was outrageous for Nalanda University, that had once symbolized Indian culture and the world’s best traditions of excellence in learning.
Indeed, it is open knowledge that the sole qualification of #AmartyaSen to head the Nalanda University was his proximity with Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi.
In 2007, UPA govt constituted a Committee, which was supposed to file a feasibility report in 9 months. But #AmartyaSen didn't submit any report in 3 yrs, could not even prepare a financial estimate or bring any funds from abroad. Yet he was made Chairman of the Board.
Instead, #AmartyaSen continued to use his position to decide on the University’s syllabus and other programs and controversially ignoring the rules.
Why? What was his agenda?
It has to be understood in the perspective of the ‘politics of obligation’ that Dr. Sen practices.
