And that's a Really Good Thing(tm).

It's a forcing function for figuring out solutions that are broadly acceptable across the community.

The thing is, the cost of forking is mostly a function of three things:

1⃣ the size of the community that you can bring along with you,
2⃣ whether you need to rename your fork (who owns the trademark), and
3⃣ how much infrastructure you need to rebuild.

In just one month of post-Brexit trading, British logistics expert Jon Swallow has seen exports dive, prices rise and customers so desperate that he is practically offering a counselling service.

Swallow is one of thousands of freight forwarders and customs brokers based around Britain’s biggest ports who have described the overnight introduction of a full customs border as akin to the country placing economic sanctions on itself.

Britain’s New Year’s Eve departure from the European Union’s orbit after 47 years of membership means exporters must now provide customs and safety declarations, health checks and rules of origin details to trade with its biggest partner.

We are now at a disadvantage to people trading within the EU,” Swallow, a co-director of Jordon Freight, told Reuters in his office next to the vast cranes that tower over Felixstowe docks, Britain’s biggest container port, on the south east coast of England.

“We’re a very fast-paced business, but now we’re just like walking through mud. There’s just paperwork everywhere.”
Those companies that trade goods between Britain and the bloc are paying a price, particularly small firms.

This is the special parliamentary process President Biden and Congressional Democrats plan to use to advance the next coronavirus relief package. It will likely take a few weeks just to move such a COVID-19 measure.

2) But an understanding of the process may shed light on the policy – and the political realities of Capitol Hill.

President Biden and Democrats in Congress have long memories about how Republicans responded to big legislative initiatives in 2009.

3) The country reeled after the financial crisis. But many Republicans made a pact to reject a stimulus package to help boost the economy. Later that year and in early 2010, Republicans also voted nearly in lockstep against Obamacare.

4) Right or wrong, Democrats felt they waited for Republicans to help out. But were met with blockades and political opposition at every turn. Democrats are wary that they can count on GOP support this year. They still feel the sting of 12 years ago.

5) And that’s why Democrats may go it mostly alone on their next COVID-19 relief measure.

That’s where budget reconciliation kicks in.

Republicans are already complaining that Democrats aren’t working with them on the next COVID bill.

Luckily, there are also plenty of fun and interesting books on finance. Many of which are written by legendary investors who consistently beat the market.

And, there are plenty of fantastic biographies, covering historical market events and old school traders.

Below are SEVEN titles worth reading.

The first book is my personal favorite, but none of the others are in any particular order.

First, what's the difference between "Burma" and "Myanmar"? You might be surprised that these are basically the same word, borrowed into English twice from two different registers of the Burmese language. (A "register" describes the level of formality of a language)

If Raila was that bad for giving Uhuru competition, you would imagine that hatred would be over once he decided to support Uhuru. This was the first contradiction. A common accusation again was that he is very selfish; he must be up to something

The Kikuyu accuse Raila of killing democracy in Luoland, yet they hated SK Macharia for supporting Raila in 2013. They even boycotted advertising with Inooro and citizen radio. They hated Tabitha of Keroche and boycotted summit beer – Saying Raila was shareholder

They would say how Luos are slaves of Raila but reserve the severest insults for Kikuyus who don’t support Uhuru. They were happy when Raila was barred from patronizing a Karatina hotel and when NASA was barred from holding a rally in Thika.

The same things done to them by Moi government, they never cared about happening to other people. They never even wanted to hear about corruption. Some Kikuyus openly confessed boycotting Nation newspaper because of David Ndii’s column – it talked too much about corruption.
