just a my thought...

ā¶/12 Roughly speaking, primitive Buddhism was about liberation from the inner suffering of the ordained individual. In contrast, Mahayana Buddhism, especially the teachings of the Lotus Sutra, emphasises 'the salvation of all people, together'.

ā·/12 In short, people of Mahayana Buddhism do Practice as Bodhisattva for all in the secular world. Strictly, these are different religions, and primitive Buddhism is not well suited to being associated with the state or secular communities.

āø/12 I believe that if anti-secular primitive Buddhism had arrived in ancient Japan it would not have spread very far. In Japan, where rice cultivation is very important, the idea of destroying the community would have been a threat of people's survival.

ā¹/12 By the way, it's perhaps inevitable that the purity of the teachings will diminish depending on how they are disseminated in society. In other words, I think that, roughly speaking, what develops away from the original form can even become a civilization.

āŗ/12 But anything that significantly reduces the quality of the original should be called a degeneration. I think that Christian civilization, although flawed, has built a civilization in tension.
1/ #BetterMasks - why and how

First, why do we even need high-filtration masks right now?

Increasingly, we are going to be (or already are) in crowded, poorly ventilated spaces- groceries, public transit, work, school etc
#covid19

2/ If can agree that we need these...what qualities should these masks have?

We talk about that in our @HarvardBiz piece on #BetterMasks

Fit
Filtration
Comfort
Affordability
Scalability
Style

3/ Given huge delays in getting any of this done...what options are available right now, off the shelf?

One of these - elastomeric (eN95s) which are used in different industries and were used by some hospitals can get job done

4/ Many have pointed to the issue of the exhale valves-- actually, even this issue has been studied by CDC/NIOSH, report below

Apparently source control can still be better than surgical masks or cloth masks even w/ these

5/ Additionally, many have rightfully mentioned KF94 and KN95s

There have been some issues around counterfeits

CDC has a list of some that have definitely run into these issues (check the list if you have any of these, may need to contact
Let's do a Friday afternoon check-in on what's going on in pro-Trump social media

One of the most dominant themes is paranoia. Anyone who talks about a rally, protest, march, or other action gets accused quickly of being part of the FBI/antifa/deep state 1/

That said, this is not quite right because… 2/

…the Virginia Citizens Defense League is organizing a caravan for Lobby Day on the 18th. Their event was armed last year (photos from 2020) and they explain how to show up armed this year, even though they don't have permits to hold an official event

That's not to say they are showing up to try to overturn the election, but still, it IS a conservative group holding an optionally-armed "bunch of people showing up in the same place but not calling it a rally event". FWIW, some think the Deep State is setting them up too 4/

Still, I'm not seeing any big organizing of events on open pro-Trump social media. Smaller groups may get together, but I don't see anything happening at scale among average MAGA supporters 5/
