This whole thread.

It has made me think through multiple conflicts I have had at work and how "real talk" basically shuts down management.

Like when I was drowning in work, asking for help, and my boss asked me point blank if I wanted to quit and why didn't I ask for help.

I showed her the emails and call logs where I did.

She shut down and walked away.

Or the time a project was going off the rails and I asked my team lead for help.

I explained everything I did so far and was looking for direction on what else to do.

And he said, "I don't want this time to be just you complaining."

So I stopped telling him anything negative.
Agree mate. Well done @ttmygh @profplum99 and @nic__carter on a ripping show. Im obviously in the "gold is superior" camp, though I am long #BTC (tiny position). I thought the best/most interesting point of whole debate was raised by @profplum99 regarding the fact that a 1/n

#Bitcoin transaction is never really final, given the energy required to keep the network running, and obviously its scale issues will only grow over time. That said, I actually though @nic__carter "won" the debate as it were, and I was unconvinced by the threat to national 2/n

security or undermining Fed policy angles Mike put forward. Two areas that are super interesting to me. One is the issue of #Bitcoin ownership, and how concentrated it is in terms of a small % of addresses that own most of it (2% addresses > 95% of holdings I think). 3/n

made great point a lot of this is omnibus/exchange related - so exchange or fund - ie @Grayscale holds #bitcoin for multiple investors. That may well be true - but it brings up 2 other issues. One - it proves that #bitcoin doesn't really "work" without 4/n

centralisation - as this implies most people need exchanges or funds (or @Paypal) to buy it. If so, that kills off a major "bitcoin is better than gold argument" - as in reality, gold is way more decentralised (from mine supply to ownership distribution). It also brings up a 5/n
The British do this to themselves.

They EU are asking for early notification and it's for transparency reasons.

And it's not a special British clause.

Yes, it could result in the EU stepping, but that would be a very big thing, and it hasn't happened yet.

If it happens, we can all get upset about it.
When Presidents propose a bill or plan, congress still has to draft and pass the bill in full, bc it includes more than just "issue this check."
So ask your congressional rep where your checks are, because it's on congress to get it through.

Biden did sign an executive order last week to push the treasury to expedite delivery of the initial $600 payment that was already approved in December, because a lot of eligible folks still haven't received it, even though the deadline for disbursement was Jan 15th.

Y'all wanna hold Biden to his promises this term, hold your folks in house and senate to theirs, because it's their job to negotiate plans and bills and pass them. Not everything can be done through executive order. Biden's ability to do what he says is reliant on them.

The proposed American Rescue Plan hasn't even been approved by congress yet - they couldn't start work on drafting the bill before he was sworn in, but *they* are the next step to your money.

Yes, that exact congress (senate may be 50/50 but Dems are in control and Harris has the tie-breaking vote), because they couldn't start work on this until Biden officially took office.
