A printing shop in Michigan prints ballots for Delaware County, Pennsylvania and as Lancashire County, Pennsylvania (this is normal). But along with the ballots it prints on contract and delivers to those counties, it prints some ballots that get diverted to Bethpage, New York.

There, a boiler room of folks fill in "Biden" (often without even voting downballot). The ballots (which are forensically legitimate, given that they come from the same print shop as the good ballots, ) then get trucked into Pennsylvania and mailed. Hundreds of thousands.

We have all of that documented. Texts, statements, affidavits, everything.

We also know that this same ballot printing company (and other firms in the same family) also print for Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia.

During the first week of November 2007, 12 entities — all connected to Reliance Industries Limited decided to bet against Reliance Petroleum limited. 
The12 agents decided to bet against RPL using what is called a futures contract.

In this context, it means, the agents were hoping to make a windfall on the back of a steep decline in RPL’s stock price.  The steeper the decline in stock price, the more money the agents were standing to make.

And if the stock price rallied, they were looking at losing a lot of money as well. So you have to have a fair bit of gumption to make such a trade.  Unless… you knew for certain that the stock price was poised to tumble — Which is what SEBI believes actually happened.

A few notes on @TheProspect article on "The China Hack"

In general, it presents a critique of American political economy as overly dominated by corporations (including non-profits, that is, universities) that sell out US national interests (principally considered in the national security sense) for profit.

Much of the argument is based on US military contractors seeking profits in China and pushing the US government to allow transfers of what should have been obvious dual-use (commercial but also military) technologies.

The tone of the piece is harshly critical of prior engagement, but the policy recommendations are mostly limited interventions pushing for more engagement on better terms.

What the piece did not have as much on but made me think about were counterfactuals, especially in geopolitics.

Francis Xavier was a Jesuit missionary who was sent to Indian colonies of Portugal by King Joao III of Portugal on a mission to convert Indians to xtianity.(1)

Francis landed in Goa, on 6th May 1542. Before his arrival, 2 Portuguese governors, Minguel Vaz and Diago Borba, had begun a Portuguese state sponsored pogrom for conversion of the native Hindu populationand carrying out large scale demolitions of Hindu temples.(2)

1. Don't pay transfer duties. Buying anything under R1m or buying into a development means that you will not incur transfer duties. This fee is something to try avoid as it will significantly damage your returns. The under R1m market is more liquid and in higher demand anyway.

2. Buying a brand spanking new place has meant that I have had no major maintenance costs in the past 5 years. I can mention all things I’ve had to fix in the past 5 years: one door handle, minor paint work, one loose tap and a few hair line tile cracks.

3. The less space under your responsibility the easier to manage. I don’t worry about gardens or geysers. The place uses a central heating system supplying water to six units. Insurance for this is covered in my levies. It's also more energy efficient = reduced electricity bills.

4. Would you want to live there? Put yourself in a potential tenant’s shoes, if what you're offering is attractive, well priced, safe and comfortable you won’t have a problem attracting suitable tenants. If you aren’t confident that you can offer this, then don’t buy the place.

I suspect that Emergentism and Enactivism have very little appeal in a world dominated by Reductionists.

Ok, time to talk about my psychiatrist experience.
For the course of approx 12 months from mid 2018 to mid 2019, I was abused and mistreated by a psychiatrist who is considered to be one of the main 'experts' in Adult ADHD in Melbourne.

I shrugged off my concerns initially because I was so happy to finally be treated and medicated for my ADHD. In my first appointment, he pressured me to let me Mum join the appointment even though she was only there because she gave me a lift.

he directed almost of the questions in that first appointment. I barely got a word in. Within 45 minutes, after a series of very leading questions asked to my Mum (not to me), he had diagnosed me with two serious mental illnesses and written me several scripts.

every appointment after that, I walked out with at least two new scripts. I didn't fill most of them because I was uncomfortable with the pace at which he was changing my meds and adding new ones.

He never actually listened to my concerns about my meds, and he was very blunt and unhelpful with his general advice. He talked down to me like I was a child, cut me off while I was speaking, and after a few appointments he took to directly insulting my intelligence.
