I’m afraid I think this definition of sovereignty (“freedom to make your own law”) is either useless or incoherent.

Very large numbers of international treaties require the UK to make, or not make, law. The UN Treaty requires us to impose sanctions. The Antarctic Treaty requires us to prohibit unlicensed operators organising tours to Antarctica. GATT restricts our ability to set tariffs.

appears to think that such provisions do not infringe his definition of “sovereignty”, but he fails to explain why not.

He asserts, without explaining why, that a level playing field term would infringe “sovereignty”. But the LPF terms being discussed simply set out actions that the EU is able to take if the UK legislates (or does not legislate) in certain ways.

Why is that different in legal principle from WTO rules that (for example) allow other states to impose high tariffs on our widget industry if we exercise our sovereign freedom to pass laws that exempt widget-making from UK tax?

It appears that every time an under-age Transgender person attempts to access medical care to make their lives better conservative people try to say they’re not ready for it.

As an older transgender woman who waited until I my mid 30’s due to those same prevailing attitudes, I feel it’s sad right-wing people are still trotting out those same tired old lines.

According to them, we’re too young to know our gender pre-pubescent and when we start undergoing a puberty which doesn’t align with our gender identity apparently we’re still far too young to access puberty blockers to make the masculinisation process go away.

These people only want us to access medical care after the age of 18 and that’s when it’s far too late for many Trans women, as the whole masculinisation process [which we didn’t want in the first place] has already happened.
@chittukuruvi4 @PVNNarayanan And the benchmarks set by the Modi Government in 2014 and the impetus in the continuity besides adding new goals to bring further #EaseIfLiving, and establishing an environment of participation with competition and equal opportunities for all has unnerved the Cong led Opposition.

@PVNNarayanan The pace and size of development and progress what India could not dream of before 2014 under such a prolonged Congress rule of decades and decades, became visible with efforts fructifying in 2014 to 2019 period. Add to it undoing of historical aberrations and blunders septic.

@PVNNarayanan Are not these reasons enough for d discredited & desperate @INCIndia & its appendages to shepherd d herd in organising protests to camouflage its own failures ? What else can one expect from stooges of a Dynasty, than 2create impediments, humps & obstacles through misinformation.

@PVNNarayanan @INCIndia Continuity of Modi Government in 2019 and booting out Congress permanently from the Centre also ensured closing of doors and windows for corruption by Congress & its crutches Communists. And more we see the reason of frustration in d disgruntled lot engaging in immoral protests.

@PVNNarayanan @INCIndia Memories short, no Congressman of self pride and with interests of the party “ideals and ideology” close to his heart talking about change of leadership and holding of elections for election of Party President ! All that has got buried in the dust of #FarmersProtest manicured !
SolarWinds follow up. Very good tweet explaining what happened.

Basically what this means is that SolarWinds itself was exploited. Someone posted an infected update as legitimate (digitally signed), leading customers to download a bad update.

“Multiple trojanized updates were digitally signed from March - May 2020 and posted to the SolarWinds updates website” https://t.co/8e3bMFWXYu

FireEye then explains that infected organizations were approached and exploited. This is a separate Step 2.

At this point, information is already going to “malicious domains” without extra intervention, after the malware does nothing for “up to two weeks”
The Dutch regulator and DNB as financial supervisor are a tough cookie to deal with. In essence they hyperregulate EU-rules into goldplated Dutch rules which go beyond what is prescribed in Europe.

All NL-customers at British banks may thus be kicked out on brexit.

If we start with the capital requirements directive, it says attracting deposits is forbidden. In article 9.

Now the translation of that rule into Dutch law is slightly expanded to not only prohibit attracting deposits, but to also prohibit, having those deposits under custody ('ter beschikking hebben').

That's not in EU law, but it is in our Dutch law.

So if you wonder how this would work out for UK banks and Payment institutions servicing Dutch customers. Have a read at the technical explanation of DNB, the financial supervisor and their summarising table.

Passive servicing of Dutch is not allowed!

Any bank or PSP in the UK that continues to serve Dutch customers (as in retail customers, professional players are excepted) can thus be subject to fines and policing under Dutch law.

Meaning we not only have Accidental American issues in payments, but also Accidental Dutchies
