Sakhare: We came to know through TV and news that the matter is today.

Adv Amogh Singh appearing for Sood points out that he will serve a hard copy however in the meantime Sood must be protected against coercive action of BMC.

Sakhare: This is what they do. City Court gives them time to approach the High Court and they come at last minute.

Singh: Milords the Trial Court failed to consider my reply on the notice and they proceeded to pass a speaking order.

Delhi High Court is hearing a petition by Sr. Adv. Abhishek Manu Singhvi against the Central Board of Direct Taxes - filed in response to a penalty on Singhvi of about Rs. 57 crores, imposed for undisclosed income of almost Rs. 91 crores.

Singhvi is making submissions on merits of the case.

Delhi High Court has asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to consider not taking any precipitative action against Singhvi.

Singhvi: Government has taken a lot of action to reduce tax related litigation. Singhvi refers to a scheme meant to reduce direct tax litigation taken out by the government.

Lie 1. The laws are not ‘reformist’ & even govt has agreed on these things which is why they sent suggested amendments. It may be noted that the laws are also violation of constitution. The laws have been made in state subject by centre.

Lie-2- Laws were not passed by majority vote in both the houses. The voice note was taken amid chaos and confusion. Govt of India passed the laws when nation was battling pandemic. Why was it done?

Govt has been running away from parliament session on the laws.

Lie 3.- The meetings with the govt ministers have been more or less a joke. Farmer Union leaders educated & schooled @nstomar about the flaws in the laws which he apparently didn’t know about or GOi never acknowledged.

Lie-4- Govt has admitted via Amit Shah in meeting on 8th Dec, that laws don’t change anything at all on the ground & that govt can do away with any changes in laws as requested by unions.

5. @MEAIndia doesn’t tell you that farmers protests were able to convince govt of india to take back two ordinances on Air pollution control & Electricity amendment bill. Not reformist those?

The Guru alongwith his two sons, Prince Ajit Singh, and Prince Jujhar Singh and a hundred men who had survived the imperial army attack took the direction of Ropar.

Their entourage was attacked by surrounding Pathans, their traditional foe. 

The Sikhs fought with valour and inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy. However, the number of the followers was reduced to forty by the time they were able to make their way to Chamkaur.

Here they sought refuge in a fortified mud mansion that was strategically built on a high mound and was surrounded by open plains. The mansion could well serve as a fort.

During the first week of November 2007, 12 entities — all connected to Reliance Industries Limited decided to bet against Reliance Petroleum limited. 
The12 agents decided to bet against RPL using what is called a futures contract.

In this context, it means, the agents were hoping to make a windfall on the back of a steep decline in RPL’s stock price.  The steeper the decline in stock price, the more money the agents were standing to make.

And if the stock price rallied, they were looking at losing a lot of money as well. So you have to have a fair bit of gumption to make such a trade.  Unless… you knew for certain that the stock price was poised to tumble — Which is what SEBI believes actually happened.
