Dakshinapatheshwara Pulakeshi

After the death of Kirtivarman, his son Pulakesin II was too young to rule, so his uncle Mangalesa, held sway as regent. But when Pulakesi came of age, Mangalesa did not hand over the kingdom to his nephew and wanted to grab it permanently.

Thereupon, Pulakesin II gathered the army, defeated & killed his uncle in the battle & proclaimed himself king in 609 CE.

He emerged as the greatest king of the Chalukyas. His accession to the throne in the year 609 CE, marks the beginning of an important epoch in the history.

The Chalukyas who remained until then as a local power, confined to Karnataka and Southern Maharashtra, spread over the whole of the Deccan and became paramount sovereigns of the entire peninsula to the South of Vindhyas.

His Aihole inscription narrates his victorious campaigns

and of his great qualities. These included victories against the Kadambas of Banavasi, Alupas and Gangas of Mysore. Dhurvinita the Ganga ruler accepted his overlord ship and even gave his daughter in marriage to Pulakesin II, and she became the mother of Vikramaditya I.

The Latas, Malwas and Gurjaras also offered their submission to him because of their fear of Harshavardhana of Kanauj. After this Pulakesin II defeated the rulers of Kosala, vishnukundins, Kalinga, Pistapura and the Banas of Rayalaseema too.

one trendline on its own is strong, but when you put two together you quickly realize just how powerful this simple tool can be.

i've been using triangles for as long as i can remember.

it seems dumb, and almost counter-intuitive to approach such a complex game like trading with such a simple approach like shapes...but maybe when markets start acting stupid its okay to dumb down our approach.

look, not all triangles are the same.

anybody can draw some lines on a chart any way they'd like. sometimes, we let our bias affect our charts rather than the other way around.

i personally have done this more times than i can count.

you see...triangles (and analysis as a whole) is not necessarily intended to make trading easier as much as it is to make trading simple.

you want a fluid bias that can change easily, rather than one relying on 10 steps of conflicting confirmation before entering a new trade

trendlines enable us to maintain a fluid bias.

i mean, how much simpler can it be than "above this line bullish, below this line bearish" ? 😂

one trendline on its own can be enough to make a good trade, but when you put two together it can turn a good trade into a great one.

By 2008, Google had everything going for it w.r.t. Cloud and we should’ve been the market leaders, but we were either too early to market or too late. What did we do wrong? (1) bad timing (2) worse productization & (3) worst GTM.

We were 1st to “containers” (lxc) & container management (Borg) - since '03/04. But Docker took LXC, added cluster management, & launched 1st. Mesosphere launched DCOS. A lot of chairs were thrown around re: google losing this early battle, though K8 won the war, eventually 👏

We were 1st to “serverless” (AppEngine). GAE was our beachhead -- it was the biggest revenue source early on but the world wasn’t ready for serverless primitives. We also didn’t build auxiliary products fast enough. Clients that outgrew GAE wanted “building block” IaaS offerings.

1st to hadoop (map-reduce ‘04) but our hosted Hadoop launched in ‘15. AWS EMR was ~200M ARR by then. 1st to cloud storage (GFS ’03), but didn’t offer a filestore till ‘18! Customers were asking for it since 2014. Didn’t launch archival storage or direct interconnect till v. late.
