Autistic students often find themselves being punished more than average at school. Frequently this can escalate to temporary exclusion and similar 'punishments'. Are autistic students generally just more naughty? Of course not. So what's the deal? /2

Everything about the fundamentals of a school day is designed around neurotypical children. Most school day elements are also very old, and have been around since long before people became more 'autism aware'. /3

What we see as the core experience of doing subjects for around an hour, before moving to the next subject, between the ages of 5 and 18 dates back *decades*. So where do autistic students fit in? /4

Well, they don't. Students with an autistic or ADHD neurotype quite simply do not slot into this structure. The only way they can is by essentially squashing their own needs in order to fit in with the majority. If they can't do this? That's where the 'punishments' come in. /5

Over a month ago, we completed a big restructuring @FOCUSBRANDS to adjust for scale and prep for next growth phases. My 2nd big reorg in 10 years there, and I'm so proud of it! Will share more soon, but here's a thread on making changes before you are forced to + tough calls.

I am so grateful for leadership changes we made over the last 2 years - wish I would have made some even earlier. I can't imagine going through a large reorg (+2020) w/o the new presidents and leaders we promoted, invested in and hired, which also meant parting ways with some.

Making changes when you "don't have to" is a bit of a paradox. You DO have to. It's just that you aren't forced to (yet). I've learned to redefine crisis & know that a time will come that pressure-tests my team. I know that I "must" do it before I "have" to do it.

I use that knowledge to initiate changes in human, caring, and direct ways. An example of one of those convos (major paraphrasing): "you were a fit for some time, but no longer, we're not parting ways today, but we need to unwind by "X", let's build a plan to do that together"

There is much left out of that little clip of a sentence: development attempts, collaboration, etc. etc., but when you know, you know, and often (always in my experience) they do, too. At that stage, their optimal growth will be somewhere else - I want to get them there.

Govt. of India recently passed 3 Farm bills relating to Agriculture sector to bring speedy reforms in Agriculture.
To attract more private investments from the big FMCGs like ITC [E-Choupal] and doubling Farmers income by 2022.

1. Farmers’ produce Trade & commerce (Promotion and Facilitation Act), 2020.

- This Act allows farmers to sell their crops to any trader not necessarily to APMC. Before farmers used to sell at APMC but now it can sell it to anyone.

- This Act will create an ecosystem where the farmers and traders will enjoy freedom of choice of sale and purchase of agriculture.

- It will also promote barrier free inter-state & intra-state trade and commerce outside the physical premises of market notified under state APLM

Clarifications on this act
- Procurement at MSP will continue. Farmers can even sell to the government.
- Mandi will not stop functioning
- E-NAM will continue.

According to S3 Partners, $TSLA shorts have lost $35B in 2020. I talk with many TSLA shorts, and have been on the other side of their trade all year. Here is where $TSLAQ got it wrong: Way under-estimating TSLA TAM, and in thinking ICE-branded EV launches would hurt TSLA.

1/ Been thinking a lot about the interview process lately (@MorningBrew is hiring). I’ve helped not only grow the company over the last 18 months, but specifically the Rev Org from 3 to 30. Here are a few things from my experience that can hopefully help others 🧵👇 (1/18)

2/ Don’t apply just to apply. Know what job you’re looking at, and what that role actually does at the co. This can be done easily by researching the company. This will save you stress and time so you don’t apply to a role you are not actually interested in or qualified for.

3/ Read the JD carefully and thoroughly. Yes, there are some bad and vague JDs out there, but a lot are well-crafted and specific. Speak to the qualifications and responsibilities specifically.

4/ If there's real estate to write, use it. If there are questions, answer them. If there’s an opportunity for a cover letter, submit one. But, do not waste the opportunity with generic answers or a form letter. Extra space on an application is an opportunity to do a few things:

- Show you care and feel this is more than a “job” - paint a picture and tell a story.
- Prove your writing skills and communication ability - great communicators are essentially in just about any role...there’s an opportunity to stand out here from the start.

A thread on a long term relationship of mine that taught me why the red pill is so valuable in a man’s life.

Labor Day 2018. Was at a friends house at a cookout when I noticed a mutual friend of ours, who had arrived late, was flirting with me. She was attractive, about 3 years younger than me, and had a daughter approximately the same age as my youngest.

We hit it off.
