Arbitrum is Ethereum's biggest Layer 2 to date. ⚡️

A Layer 2 blockchain is an extension of Ethereum that benefits from the security assurances provided by Ethereum while operating independently.

It can do all of this because it's an Optimistic Rollup

Optimistic Rollups speed up Ethereum's smart contract by using a second-layer chain to handle most of the work, while still recording everything on the main chain for security. 🔒

This list in no particular order.

Remember: When it comes to narrative trading, you're identifying and betting on relative strength.

So although in some cases these projects can perform against broader market movement, most altcoins still adhere to general $BTC price action.

This means if there's a major #Bitcoin rally - the strongest narratives will tend to elicit the best gains.

And in many cases, will also be least affected by price dumps as there's enough demand-side pressure to mitigate sell-offs.

But treat each project on an individual basis.

Many people engage with a lot of accounts, but their last tweet was 1 month ago.

People won't follow you from someone else's comment section.

Engage to bring people to your profile.

This cycle is quite similar to the 2000-2002 TMT bust...

Lots of sharp bear market rallies, tech underperformance and similar to the TMT bust, very high odds that recession will land about a year after the start of the bear market in stocks.

Earnings declines are not priced in!

To make matters worse, during the TMT bust, at this point of the macro cycle the Fed was already aggressively easing...

This time around, it is still hiking rates and doing QT!

Recession seems inevitable and highly likely the stock market is about to get a wake up call.

The stock market has NOT discounted the recession.

$SPX consensus EPS estimate for '23 is still flat vs. '22 and most money managers are anchored off this unrealistic number.

$SPX earnings likely to decline materially during '23 + this is likely to be the final shoe to drop.

During late 2001, $SPX did climb above its 200-day ma (head fake) whereas $NDX couldn't (similar to now).

Back then, semiconductors also rallied sharply but then the final leg down of the bear-market started and crushed all stocks.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out!

seeing a lot of confusion around why layoffs are happening at companies with a lot of cash on the balance sheet. at the risk of getting roasted... here's a TLDR, for both public and private companies

in 2020 and 2021 the way to create shareholder value was to grow topline. regardless of the quality of revenue, software revenue was being valued at between 30x-100x run rate

smart investors know that not all revenue is equal... and they know that very few software businesses actually have the characteristics to drive meaningful cash flow at scale

because meaningful cash flow at scale requires a high margin product, high retention, and an ability to upsell and cross sell to drive increasing LTV. once you land, you need to expand share of wallet, continuously. for decades

many software categories fundamentally cannot ever support a company with these characteristics. history tells you this... but we forget!

Move's benefits (memory, speed of testing, expressiveness) vs other languages like Solidity make it a compelling proposition.

Sei is built on Cosmos, and is the first sector-specific L1 blockchain, specialised for trading to "give exchanges an unfair advantage".

Don’t read analyst opinions.

Read the primary source data (financials)

3. Learn the business.

If you don’t know anything about the business, read more! Then talk to mentors! Read everything you can get your hands. Read competitor reports, read historical reports.

Pay for consultants.

Talk to the executives & customers of the company.

4. Avoid "The Passion Trap."

Early in my career, people told me

• ‘only invest in what you love’
• ‘without passion you won't succeed’
• 'don't touch what doesn't excite you'
