- Grant : Humanitarian approach by GOI.
- Commercial Export - Agreements made by Company, not under the control of Govt.
- COVAX program - WHO Initiative.

3. How many Vaccines are exported as Grant ?

1.07 Cr Vaccines are exported to 47 Countries as Grant.

Grant is Humanitarian approach taken by Government of India.

This is the only export GOI has control on.

4. Which Countries received more than 1 Lakh Vaccines as Grant ?

Below countries received Vaccine grant more than 1 Lakh.

We gave grant mostly to our neighbors as its important to stop Covid in neighboring countries to keep India safe from spread.

5. Which countries received less than 1 lakh Vaccines as Grant.

Below countries received grant of less than 1 Lakh Vaccines from Indian Government.

1/ Hon. CM of West Bengal @MamataOfficial has written to the Hon @PMOIndia seeking exemption from GST/Customs duty and other duties and taxes on some items and COVID related drugs.

2/ A list of items for COVID relief granted exemption from IGST for imports was issued on 3rd May’21. These were given exemption from Customs Duty/health cess even earlier.

First official advisory to states from centre on impending second wave went on 17th February, 2021. By then 37300 odd ventilators were bought by PM care fund sent to states.
160 oxygen plants were sanctioned in Dec,20. States didn't give land for O2 pants, nor opened ventilator

People who donated a big Sibal/Zero/Zilch to PM care fund are demanding hissab is the most funny thing.. Same ppl never questioned Sonea ji when she was siphoning off money from Pm relief fund to congress party( on record).

This whole country had less than 5000 ventilators on February 2020, 75 years after independence, now has almost 50000 within 1 years.

Punjab let the 248 ventilators rot under covers till March 2021 in a Mohali godown.. Didn't even bother (tribune brought a story). This dunce head @HemantSorenJMM didn't open 38 ventilators till about April 1st week (HT did a story).. Raj -1000 ( screwed 240 in 1 days voltage)..

Are they profiteering ?

This thread covers their production effort, scaling and some other factors. Starting with SII:

1/

SII started out with 50-60 million doses/mth capacity. Apr 1 it announced efforts to scale up to 100m by May using internal resources, and requested Rs.3000cr funding to scale up. The bulk order came thru mid April, enabling further scale up and deliveries through May/June.

2/

A common mistake made is to extrapolate latest prices to all future orders. Prices are tied to capital costs of scaling up and order size. Early SII orders were Rs.200/dose + GST. The higher initial price Is due to setup and initial investment SII made, described later.

3/

The March order was cheaper per dose but 10x larger. Govt ordered 120 million doses, 100m from SII, 20m from BB, for same 150/dose. This was a tradeoff they agreed to - very large bulk order but low margin. Enough for SII to invest for 100m/month production, but no more.

One can either pay intermittently higher per dose costs while demanding more volume, or can pay expansion costs upfront. The US did the latter during Op Warp Speed - $18 billion invested in vaccine research and infrastructure upfront:

Various states & opposition parties complained about total control of vaccine procurement & distribution by Modi led central govt.

Politically motivated accusations of partiality & preferential (non)allocations to states were made.

I know the #COVID-19 numbers in India are not looking good, but here are my (not so) random thoughts on it

We have 2 options – one, rant & rail against the ‘system’ and lament how it has let us down; second, do whatever we can to avoid getting infected & if infected, minimize adverse consequences to ourselves & others. If you belong to the first, you can stop reading now

How can we avoid getting infected? There’s no magic bullet, I’m afraid. This is primarily a “stick to the basics” approach. More difficult than it sounds.

First, maintain all precautions that we know help. These include masks (whenever you are not at home and not alone), physical distancing to the extent possible, and washing hands frequently. The 3 Ws – Wear a mask, Watch your distance, Wash your hands.

Masks work, and are probably the most important precaution given our current understanding that aerosols are the predominant mechanism of spread. The best is a well-fitting N95 mask, which is now widely available & not too expensive – you could re-use them too.

Vaccine Politics - Let us trust in Science.

2. The country has already achieved one of the highest daily vaccinations per day across the globe with 4.3 million vaccinations, which is close to the population of New Zealand.

3. India has also achieved the fastest rate of reaching the 100 million vaccination milestone, ahead of the United States (US) and China. Our daily vaccination rates are also among the highest in the world.

4. This doesn’t mean that there is no scope for improvement. Of course, we need to expand capacity and continue innovating, which has been our approach throughout the pandemic.

5. In the beginning, there are two insinuations — first, that there is a vaccine crunch, and, second, that everyone immediately needs a vaccine. We must understand that vaccines are a scarce commodity in the world.

During Satya Yugam, Devas and Asuras were physically in different locations.. that is Devas were in Deva Lokam which was distinct from where Asuras lived in the the Asura Loka. A conflict would happen when any Asura wanted more than just his loka and went to occupy Deva Loka.

And then the Paramatman would wage a war almost always single handed.

Now coming to Treta Yuga, the Devas [Sri Rama] and Asuras were both in one loka. Some distant apart, but still one loka only.

Conflict would happen when, as in case of Satya Yugam, when the Asuras tried to disrupt the devas. In this case, Sri Rama went TO the asura loka be it Janasthana or Lanka and fought with them, along with help from other divine beings i.e vanaras.

This changed even further in Dwapara Yugam when the devas and asuras were born in the same family Sri Krishna & Balarama vs their mama Kamsa or Pandavas vs Kauravas. And the conflict arose as soon as they were born.

It is time to call out bluff on this nonsense that West/America is invested in India’s rise. Or to put it more palatably as DC think tankers do ‘America wants India to rise and be successful because why wouldn’t they’. Let’s analyze this in detail.

The historical perspective, which I consider irrelevant for today is due to a woman named Bathineni Subbamma.
During the pre-independence time she was told by the missionaries that she could retain her caste even after becoming a xian.

For those curious, she was of Kamma caste, not a Reddy. Many mistakenly assume the latter were pioneers in this. No it began with the Kammas.
Anyway to cut a long story short, Bathineni converted and established an "Ashram" for conversions in West Godavari district.

Even as the world’s biggest campaign since January 15, 2021 for construction of the grand temple of Bhagwan Shri Ram at Ayodhya completed on February 27, 2021, it unified Bharatvarsh from east to west and north to south.

We have succeeded in achieving our goal of Samarpan in 400,000 villages. Contact was also made in all the wards of the urban areas. Although the statistics of the families contacted are yet to come, but it is estimated that we have touched about 100 million families.

Samarpan (contributions) have been received from every quarter. During this drive, many such occasions and episodes also came which moved the minds and hearts of the volunteers. At many places, even the beggars, daily wagers & small farmers also made their prayerful offerings.

About 900,000 Karyakartas in 175,000 teams contacted people from door-to-door. The Samarpan amount was deposited in Banks through 38,125 Karyakartas. The app, created by Dhanusha Infotech, has acted as a digital bridge among the Karyakartas, banks and the trust.

To maintain transparency of the entire campaign, while 49 control rooms were working across the country, 23 qualified karyakartas led by two chartered accountants at the main centre in Delhi, were constantly in touch with the entire network to monitor the accounts
