Truly, the heart of man is desperately wicked
1
Jeremiah 17:9 KJV
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Honestly, and without prejudice, the passage above deserves further reading and studying.
Studying the passage below this morning,
2.
I kept wondering what manner of wickedness this was, just because, you wanted to disgrace a people, you now want to gouge out everyone's eyes...haba?
V2 of the passage below is the height of wickedness.
3.
1 Samuel 11:1-2 NLT
About a month later, King Nahash of Ammon led his army against the Israelite town of Jabesh-gilead. But all the citizens of Jabesh asked for peace. “Make a treaty with us, and we will be your servants,” they pleaded.
4.
[2]“All right,” Nahash said, “but only on one condition. I will gouge out the right eye of every one of you as a disgrace to all Israel!” 🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️🙆🏽♂️
Jeremiah 17:9 KJV asked a valid question about the heart, it asked..." who can know it?"
Honestly, no one.
5.
Only a renewed heart, yes, a renewed heart in Christ, in all it's ramifications can override the wickedness in a man's heart.
When we do some wicked stuffs to fellow humans, "no be today e start...e don tey"
Little wonder then how our world has turned out.
