In an unusual order, perhaps for the first time in history, the Madras HC has ordered a state Crime Branch CID probe into 100 Kgs of gold which went missing from the custody of CBI. 1/n

State CB CID officials will now probe the role of the elite CBI agency in the missing ingots weighing more than 100 Kgs.

When the CBI probed this case, the role of several IAS & ITS (Indian Trade Service) came to light. The role of Dr. Swarna, IAS, then Joint Development Commissioner, Special Economic Zone, Chennai also came to light. 3/n

Dr. Swarna is now the Secretary to government, P&AR, Government of Tamil Nadu. When an Addl SP went to examine Dr. Swarna with regard to this case, she threw a tantrum as to how an ordinary Addl SP can examine her and rang up TN Home Secretary to suspend the Addl. SP. 4/n

All the All India Service Officers involved in this case, using their bureaucratic clout in Delhi, ensured that this case never saw the light of the day.

Correcting A Monstrous Crime Against Our Country

My friend and legal mentor @shestokas provided this article and spent a bit of time with me speaking about

5) Our story begins with Article IV, Section 4., with a clear statement of powers, responsibilities, and hierarchy of holding elections. If we're going to address this monstrous crime, we need to know exactly what the crime is, and who committed it. PH points us straight there.

It was sometime then as Aftab headed back from the mosque toward his home at Babupurwa, that police firing hit and shot him fatally. Najma said her own son indicted the police before he breathed his last. “Mere bachhe ne khud hi bataya ki police waale ne goli maara hai. 1/3

Her son was in the hospital when he told her this, and she went on to stress that the doctor at Hospital shooed the rest of the family out of the ward. “No one in the hospital spoke to us properly or informed us properly. He was shot twice, two bullets not one. 1/4

The graph cites the World Development Indicators as its source for the income inequality data.

It looks as if the latest estimate for China's Gini is 42.2.

That estimate is from 2012.

5/A Gini of 42.2 would put China in the same neighborhood as the U.S., whose Gini was estimated at 41 in 2013.

I can't find the <30 number anywhere. The only other estimate in the tables for China is from 2008, when it was estimated at 42.8.

When Ganesha was married before Kartikeya, he left in anger to Kraunch mountain. Shiva and Parvati also followed him there.


Shiva assumed the form of Jyotirlinga and resided on the mountain by the name of Mallikarjuna. Mallika means Parvati while Arjuna is another name of Shiva
It is also said that once, a princess Chandravathi, saw a cow shedding milk on a rock resembling a shivlingam.

She started praying to the lingam daily and used to offer jasmine (mallika pushpam) daily. Pleased Shiva appeared before her and agreed to wear jasmine garland (mallika pushpmala) on his head permanently. Since then, Shiva became known as Mallikarjun Swamy.


At this place, Shakti took the form of Bhramaram (bee) to kill Arunasur and settled as Bhramaramba Devi. The place is a Shakti Peeth as the neck portion of Devi Sati fell here.

It is said that by merely seeing the hill, one is emancipated from all his sins and worries.
