@niki_poojary taught me how to form a weekly trading plan.

I'm going to share what I've learned in this thread.

Here's the simple 10 step process: 🧵

1. Check on the daily chart if Bank Nifty is in a higher high or lower low:

A higher-high (HH) is a bullish pattern, it signifies that it is difficult for the market to go down.

If that has formed on the daily chart, the market will give all the surprises on the upside.

If the market is in a higher high mode, look for good opportunities to sell puts.

Usually, at a higher high, traders buy on breakouts and also buy the dips.

If you want a good Risk-Reward, you can sell puts on a dip. (Only if it's showing some reversal)

2. Take High Probability Trades

Simply knowing a higher high or lower low does not make money. It gives you a bias for the week.

Still, you should try to take higher probability trades that align with your view of the market.

This will get you consistency and a good mindset.

3. Support & Resistance

I would say Support Resistance is the most important and favorite thing for @niki_poojary.

She keeps updating these levels with charts on her Twitter handle during live markets daily.

Rule 1:

"Trade with a stop loss of 2% on your capital for the week."

If you're losing more than 2%, chances are your reading of the market is wrong. The best would be to call it quits for that week.

Every day, there is far too much noise in the first few minutes. Positional traders should avoid some time in order to avoid being butchered right away.

" Wait for candle closings in your timeframe"

Beware of wicks. They are buyer/seller traps. Rather wait for a good candle to close above your support/resistance to open/close a trade.

The day I experienced the greatest Mtm loss to my capital was February 24. The figure was -47 lakhs. It was around 10% of my capital. Losing much more would set me back several months.

I analyzed @niki_poojary 's account, to learn the most important patterns to master.

1/ Cup and handle Pattern

Happens during an uptrend.

The cup portion has a U-shaped appearance.

The bears are getting weaker as they are unable to drive the prices below the last low.

Subhasish Pani uses this a lot in stocks to spot bullish trades.

2/ Inverse Cup and Handle Pattern

Happens during a downtrend.

The cup portion has a reverse U-shaped appearance.

The bulls are getting weaker as they are unable to drive the prices above the last high.

3/ Double Bottom Pattern

It is a bullish pattern that has the shape of a "W".

The market tries twice to break the lows but is unsuccessful.

This is a reversal pattern to observe during a downtrend for a bullish trade.

4/ Double Top Pattern

It is a bearish pattern that has the shape of an "M".

The market tries twice to break the highs but is unsuccessful.

1. Calls
2. Puts
3. Futures/Stocks

You don't even need to touch futures/stocks. Whatever kind of payoff graph you want, you can get via options only.

Synthetics will be used to handle margin requirements better thereby increasing your leverage.

For eg, you want to buy a stock you have to pay huge margin.

Instead of that you can buy an ATM call and sell an ATM put. Margins are drastically lower via options.

We cannot short stocks in India, we need to trade via futures. Some big traders like Sundar Sir, they don't like to trade in futures as they trade via collateral and mtm loss needs to be paid daily. Synthetics take care of that as u only have to pay the loss when booked.
