How to vet a woman. Qualify her by setting your standards.

If you want to vet a woman properly, you need to separate two components that makes up who she is;

Macro scale - her deep values that make up her belief system.

Micro scale - her everyday habits & behaviours.

Macro cannot be easily modified, the micros can.

A woman's belief system in life takes one of two pathways,

she either chooses a path of independence, where her values shape around it,

or she chooses to seek femininity.

One directly conflicts with the other. The more independent she becomes, the less feminine she is.

Obviously you want a feminine woman. And that would mean to vet how far she is willing to go in her line of career. If career ascension is her aim, her belief system does not align with yours.

Her career must stop somewhere for her to be able to regain her feminine nature.

Determine how agreeable she is. By default, all women are more agreeable than disagreeable.

That means a woman who's gone out of her way to become disagreeable (for example career ascension) is a red flag, unless circumstances justify it.

The month of January see’s a 37% of yearly inflows as a result of 401k and asset allocation rebalancing. Can see financial advisors recommending a portfolio shift back into equities given the current defensive allocation.

Over the last 25 yrs, 25bps of AUM of new money comes into the market each January. This is a big number on $20 Trillion worth of fund assets. This would be about +$50B worth of buy demand, and 2021 could see at least double this year.

The Nasdaq hit its 55th record close of the year on Monday and has gained almost 44% this year. There may be some FOMO.

This flow of funds shift will get exacerbated this year given the heavy positioning in money markets and bonds, aka TINA, or lack of alternatives.

Thread on best books + readers to learn Sanskrit. I will list only books I have read & their pros and cons.

1. Samskrita Bharati (4 Part Series)

This is by far the best structured english course to learn to read, speak & write Sanskrit. The material is well-structured.

... and grammar is introduced at apt phases. There is enough Sanskrit text to immerse yourself & best part is they have accompanying online/in-person courses entirely in Sanskrit. This is the best method to learn spoken Sanskrit.

2. Svayam Sanskrit Shikshak (Hindi)

This is the second best immersive-learning series. There are 2 parts and progression is gradual. The advantage is it is entirely in Hindi, so the 1:1 syntax + vocab connect for native speakers is instant, Hindi being a daughter of Sanskrit.

this however is also it's only disadvantange. It's language restricted & not suitable for say a Telugu with poor Hindi or for an American or European learner. There is enough reading material here to "learn" Sanskrit.

3. The Sanskrit Language – Walter H Maurer

This is an amazing course. The best to learn Sanskrit for Americans/Europeans & an excellent one for Indians to use to learn the western grammar terminology. Best part about it? It is extremley long & has at least 100 pages of Sanskrit.

One segment I have been absolutely upbeat is IT/Tech. Tech has always been the hidden moat for many companies - AP/BFL to name a few. Tech is no longer a vertical in market. It has become horizontal that cuts across every single vertical.

Be it Pharma/API, Finance, Insurance, Manufacturing, Retail, CD, or any other segment, Tech is going to give you edge over peers.

The spend on IT/Tech is going to increase stupendously in coming 4/5 years to levels we haven't even imagined. The investment in tech is going to help big get even bigger and put very hard survival barriers to new entrants.

BFL/HDFC Life from Fin/Insurance segment have one of the best tech platforms. IndiaMart relies on customer data monetization, Dmart has a very small but extremely strong team of data scientists

Even Nestle has very strong data scientist pool, Asian Paints story is well knows to everyone now. Not investing in IT/Tech is going to be your biggest mistake in investing journey.
