1) Set Goals in Writing

- Before you sell anything there needs to be a plan.
- Create the plan and make your goal BIG!
- You are not just an designer, writer, marketer, programmer. If you are in this sales industry you are supposed to close deals. This is the end goal.

2) Establish Trust

- Can you sell things without trust? Sure. will you do it consistently, NO!
- Pay attention to everything. Use all the information.
- Take your time building the sale. Your client is not in a rush and if they are, slow them down. Lead them. Be yourself.

3) Build Value

- Be an expert in your field. Show them why your product is the best. Don't tell them, SHOW THEM!
- Be a trend setter. DO NOT be like every other salesman.
- People want a good deal, so help them find one. But do it on your terms.

4) Identify a Need

- If there is no need then you have little chance to sell anything.
- QUESTIONS. QUESTIONS. QUESTIONS.
- Ask them... mean them... listen to their answers. Listen to what they aren't saying. Pay attention to EVERYTHING!

Wallelign wrote that, while some call the question of nationalities "tribalism" - it is in fact "nationalism." Ethiopia is not one nation, he wrote, “it is made up of a dozen nationalities with their own languages, ways of dressing, social organization and territorial entity.”

[THREAD] Let's talk about recognizing signs of emotional abuse. For a lot of people, it can be hard to recognize those signs, especially early on, or we may not realize what they were until we have suffered under them and it affected our mental health.

For the most part, people who engage in a lot of emotional abuse won't show it at the very beginning. They need feelings to develop or an attachment to happen in order to be able to show those signs when it is harder for the other person to leave. It can also be progressive.

However, there are some ways to recognize those signs early on. One of the main ones is how these people talk about others they shared a relationship with in the past. If every ex was a bad person or every friendship has issues, then it is generally a bad sign.

This is especially true for men who may badmouth women they have been it by calling them names that are not worth typing. That's a big red flag because it means that this man is likely to be the bad person here. They may be volatile even in their friendships.

They seemingly seem to lose friends quickly and get new ones quickly. This is because these friends may recognize the toxic tendencies of the person and leave them, and they constantly have to integrate with new people that they want to use for one purpose or another.

Really trying to find the words I want to say in the letters I’m going to write to the ED and the GI clinic for 1. Minimizing my symptoms, asking me in a condescending way if I have tried icy hot. 2. Not treating my pain appropriately and making me feel like a drug seeker.

3. Brushing me off numerous times and not taking me seriously. And 4. Legitimately making me question myself and making me believe it was all in my head.
I cannot put into words how this experience had been.

The ONLY reason I was able to get a HIDA and get a confirmed diagnosis of biliary dysfunction was because I was working with a surgeon on ICU and I had an attack. I was double over in pain, pale, shaking, and diaphoretic when he sat down next to me

And started to do an assessment. He opened my chart reviewed everything and within 5 minutes was concerned about my gallbladder and ordered a HIDA through his clinic. If it was not for that encounter with him (which was all by chance) who knows where I would be.

I got lucky because I am a nurse and I was working with a surgeon who listened to me and decided to bypass all the BS and get me in for a scan that my PCP and 2 ED docs didn’t want to order. I could not imagine what would have happened if I didn’t talk to him about it.

Pregnancy in the pandemic: a thread (1/ a lot). The NHS has finally changed its guidance to say women should be allowed to have their partner there 'at all times': scans, in labour ward from the start and not just for 'active labour'. I gave birth 8 days ago.

I found out I was pregnant with my first child on the day the UK went into 1st lockdown. Many people asked me how my pregnancy was going over the past few months. I’d say: “it’s not an easy time to be pregnant!” Most would reply: “it’s never an easy time!” Sure... but a pandemic?

I love the NHS. My doctor mother gave all her working life to it, my brother is now set to do the same. This is not a criticism of most of its staff who - long before Covid happened - have been people I championed in many of my columns.

But the major problem over the past nine months has been access to in-person care. Before I was 38 weeks pregnant (technically full term though I didn’t deliver until 40 weeks and 6 days), I had seen a midwife in person twice. You can’t check blood pressure over the phone.

Nor can you be measured or examined, and the midwife is less able to spot signs of big problems (eg issues like domestic violence, which can start/ flare up in pregnancy). One of my phone appointments lasted about 5 minutes; another I missed because they only called 5 hours late
