Bishnupur.

The idol of Shri Shri Madan Mohan was taken hold of by Raja Bir Hambir of Mallyabhum. Although as per historical records it seems that the mandir was built by his descendant Raja Durjan Singho.

There's a fascinating story as to how Raja Bir Hambir

came in possession of the বিগ্রহ/ idol.
Birhambir while on a pilgrimage , on his way back to Bishnupur after visiting Vaidyanatha Dham, Bakreshwar etc., took shelter in a picturesque temple as it was getting dark at night while walking through the forest at Brishvanupur in

Beerbhoom. At the end of the day, the Brahmin who used to do the nityapuja , came for the daily service and met the king and received him as a warm guest. But the king was bewildered to see the magnificent deity inside the temple, and was quite enamoured by its ethereal beauty

On asking the attending brahmin he came to know that the idol was that of Lord Madanmohon.
The King then decided to take that idol to Bishnupur. The next day, after making that offer to the Brahmin, the Brahmin politely said, how is that possible!

The king stayed in the guest house of the temple for two more nights and finally "took charge" of Madan Mohan without the knowledge of the Brahmin and brought him to Bishnupur.

🌺Lalitaditya Muktapida: The Great Hindu King of Kashmir who missed our text books.🌺

Lalitaditya Muktapida was the great Hindu King of Kashmir who belonged to the Karkorta Dynasty and provided heroic resistance to the foreign invaders.

He remained undefeated throughout his reign & expanded his empire in all directions.
The famous book Rajatarangini which was written in 12th century had given us details of the golden age of Kashmir.
The rise of Karkota dynasty of Kashmir was the turning point in Indian history.

This great dynasty was founded by Durlabha-vardhana. Many eminent historians claim that this king was married to the daughter of Baladitya the last king of the Gonanda dynasty.
Lalitaditya ascended the throne about 724 CE and was the fifth ruler of the Karkota Dynasty.

He was a follower of expansionist policy and wanted to conquer the neighboring kingdoms.
He also defeated the powerful king of Kannauj i.e Yasovarman and emerged as a champion of north India.

Kalhana also mentioned that the king of Kashmir undertook a World Wide Campaign and reached the sea coast of east India (Kalinga).
Here the king of Gaur (Bengal)is believed to be the first king to accept the suzerainty and sent several elephants to the king of Kashmir in respect.

A small thread on momentum investing and how I practice it.

I use the Nifty 500 universe for selecting my momentum stocks. Nifty 500, as the name suggests, has 500 companies in it. WRONG !!!! It actually has 501 companies. Yes, I double-checked 🙂 So, these 501 companies is

my talent pool (if you will) from which I select the 50 best candidates that I want to bet my money on.

Ok. So, exactly, did I go about doing that.

Step 1: Start with Nifty 500 universe (501 companies)

Step 2: Eliminate all those companies which have a listing history of

less than 1 year. This eliminated 25 companies (see table).

Step 3: For the remaining 476 companies, I computed their last 12-month rolling price returns (meaning, comparison of their price as on March 31, 2022 as compared to that as on March 31, 2021, and then computing the %

gain that each of those stocks have earned. I found out the following:

a) Average return of all the 476 companies was 43.27% (meaning if their average price as on March 31, 2021 was 100, then their average price as on March 31, 2022 was 143.27)

b) Out of these 476 companies

140 companies, gave a negative return.

c) Out of the balance 336 companies, 46 companies gave single-digit returns

d) Out of the balance 290 companies, 101 companies gave a return between 10-30%

e) Out of the balance 189 companies, 55 gave returns between 30-50%

A Cash flow statement shows inflow and outflow of cash and cash equivalents from various activities of a company during a particular period.

The net cash flow at the end of the year tells us about the movement of cash on the balance sheet.

Why is cash flow important? ⤵️

Companies maintain books of accounts as per accrual principle, that means we book revenue or expense as and when it is incurred.

Let's say we make sales of 10,000 so we will record it as when sale is completed and prepare P&L accordingly, here it doesn't matter whether cash is received or not.

Cash flow helps us in knowing whether that 10,000 has been received in cash or not.

Balance Theory is LITERALLY how stocks move

It can be used in all types of trading

Here's a breakdown of what it is and how I made close to $2,000 using it👇

Balance Theory is based upon the thesis that stocks are either trading in "balance" or out of "balance"

So what exactly is balance?

Balance can also be considered fair value. A price area where buyers and sellers are both comfortable trading.

You will see a balance area in zones where price is typically choppy.

You should be able to see clear support and resistance areas.

So how do we use this in our trading?

There's 2 ways that a stock will react to balance.

I'll go in depth on both.

The first one is a breakout👇

A breakout of balance is fairly simple.

Price is in fair value. Over time, one side (either the buyers or sellers) has to give up and the stock breaks out of balance.

It's no different than any other breakout.
