Let's talk about that "Longer Telegram" making the rounds...and why it's a
First, to be clear, it IS NOT a telegram. It's a report. I mean, it has a flipping 11.5 page executive "summary"...
...a two page table of contents...
...and clocks in at 62 pages (minus the forward and executive summary) or 73 pages (if you include the executive summary).
Of course, the author of "The Longer Telegram" calls it a "telegram" because they want it to be directly and explicitly compared to George Kennan's 1946 "Long Telegram" about US policy towards the Soviet Union.

Thread: #Greek police and secret service discover #NGOs have been hiding hundreds of illegal immigrants in caves
Members of Non-Governmental Organizations have been hiding hundreds of #immigrants in the last weeks in coastal caves and forests of the Aegean islands, in order not to be detected by the Greek coast guard and thus to facilitate their #illegal entry into our country.
At the same time, due to their non-registration and taking health measures, there is a spread of the pandemic.
In addition, they had created a special internet platform to broadcast live the arrival of boats in #Lesvos and other #islands of the Eastern Aegean in order to "push" the Coast Guard not to prevent their entry into our country.
These are the conclusions of a second secret operation - with the codemame "Alkmini 2" of https://t.co/1BCe7Y74Fz. with the assistance of NIS against #NGOs that are active in our maritime #borders and which is revealed by "To Vima", with the presentation of relevant documents.

Let's not forget that McConnell enabled sanctions to be lifted from Deripaska's companies, EN+, Rusal, and EuroSibEnergo, even though a bipartisan group of Senators were against

All the leftists in the comments like oh no prageru made a good point lol
Polls consistently show conservative support for nuclear energy. It also has high support among elites. The myth that it is unpopular in general isn’t true—although it is unpopular in almost every specific case where they need to site it
Article is old but yeah
This study finds that risk & benefit predict individual opinion the most, followed by the share of nuclear energy already extant, followed by ideology (conservatives support more)
This one finds that journalists attitude affect public perceptions, but that energy consultants, nuclear engineers, bureaucrats, and the military show the highest support for nuclear energy
Nuclear energy:

Safe? ✅
Clean? ✅
Efficient? ✅
Scalable? ✅
Why is it not receiving more political support?
