Why 90% of the traders even after winning 90% of the times gives it back to the markets?

Has this ever happened to you, That you are up 10% on the month and you feel crazy, but the next morning you give it all back to the markets?

What Causes You to Give It All Back?

 1. Euphoria-

It is the state of mind in which we can not perceive risk, In state of euphoria nothing can go wrong.

So when you are in this state of mind, you feel invincible and there is nothing in the world which can stop you from making money.
That’s why when most of the traders after a winning streak put a Huge position and then Boom, all the luck goes for a toss.

Think about it why most of the traders loose big money when the market starts to go in bear mode from bullish mode, because
when the markets are in a bull market, even if you take trades based on your neighbor recommendation most of them will be right

"Felling too good is not good for your trading"

Winning gives you dopamine rush, And when you trading to get right often you are just feeding your ego
The evolved trader recognizes that winning simply means that you landed on the right side of probability. That’s all. There is no reason to get excited.

It’s just probability and you have an edge that gives you an advantage in the randomness of probability.
And when you lose, you have only landed on the wrong side of probability relative to your concerns.That’s all. It’s just probability

It is not about you.Consistent profitability is simply showing you that your system is working

It is not about your capacity to be right and win
2. Lust-

It is not the desire for wealth that is the problem – it is the lust or worship of wealth or money that leads to trouble

The major problem with winning is that it ignites the lust for money

And because it is such a powerful emotion
it can easily overwhelm the discipline, patience, and impartiality needed for effective trade management.

These are the two beliefs which you have to change in order to make your trading from a lucky streak towards a balanced profitable way.
The potential of a successful trading mind is in the balance

Lastly, You have to choose between those things which will benefit you in the long term rather than short term craving.

I broadly categorize stocks in two categories-

1. The momentum stocks-

These are the stocks where most of the moves are swift in nature, or we can say that the pullbacks in a trend are smaller.

2. The AKBC stocks-

These are the stocks where most of the trending moves comes with deep pullbacks.


Examples-


So the purpose of categorizing these stocks, is that we Trade those stocks/instruments which are more suited to our style.

Say if you are a mean reversion player and you are trading in the momentum stocks category then you are more bound to lose over large number of trades.

When tops are formed , two things happen The public is buying and the big boys are selling, and vice-versa when bottoms are formed.

In simple words Volume climax is the last "AHA" movement for the public before the stock make a top or bottom.

What is Volume climax?

• Volume climax appears at the extreme of a trend, or when top or bottoms are formed.

• Most of the time volume climax appears when breakouts happens after a long extending move, and then fails to hold at higher levels.

• In this, at time of breakout we see big volumes (atleast 2-3X more then normal volume) coming in stock when the stock is already extended.

• More volume is not always good, though retail traders doesn’t distinguish between them.

• After the Volume climax we may see a top/bottom or at-least the trend becomes sideways.

• The best setups are those in which we see full reversal candles with big range.

Example of volume climax-

1. The stock was in Uptrend, And has give a quite good run , Stock was giving a big move as you can see in last 2 candles, they were super extended.

2. But at the top candle, the bulls lost the control and the stock closes with a weak candle,

What are trading errors?


Trading errors are those errors which happen because of wrong Position sizing, Leverage , etc.

I am not making this up, check your P&L, 90 % of your losses would have come from less then 10% trades.

Most of these happen because of No knowledge, No plan, bad position sizing .

Now, we know what's the problem, lets talk about the solution.

We will use three basic indicators.

1. Pivot Points
2. Stoch RSI
3. VWAP

Note- This strategy will have a MUCH higher probability of success if basic Price action, volume and Candlestick pattern is kept in mind.

USE THE STRATEGY:

I will introduce the tools and then explain the strategy.

I Will talk about the calculations to arrive at the indicators separately.

IMPORTANT- Don't use the indicators alone.
Eg. Stoch RSI has less than 26% hit rate so you can't use it alone to trade.

Tool 1- Pivot Points:

They are reversal points based the historical prices.
Go to the indicators tab and type 'Pivot point standard'

The settings to be used have been disclosed in the pic below.

Note- You can choose your own settings but I have disclosed the ones I use.


This is what they will Look like.

Ignore All notations and just remember.
ALL the lines are Support or Resistance lines
(Lines of Interest)

It doesn't matter if it's been denoted as P,R or S.

We will learn how to use them below, practically.

Surkanda devi mandir is a famous shrine of Hindus located near Kaddukhal distt of Uttarakhand, 11 Km from the town of Dhanaulti and 35 Km from Mussoorie.
The Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas spread all over Indian Subcontinent and is dedicated to Goddess Surkanda.

The origins of the Surkanda Mata Mandir is attributed to Goddess Sati, consort of Bhagwan Shiv who in a rage immolated herself in her arrogant Father Daksha's Yajna Kund bcoz he didn't invite Bhagwan Shiv in the Yajna.


Devastated by the death of Sati Shiva wandered all over the cosmos performing Tandava-The Dance of Cosmic Destruction.Fearing the total annihilation of cosmos, Gods requested Bhagwan Vishnu to pacify Shiva.Bhagwan Vishnu then used his discuss to destroy the burning corps of Sati.


The pieces of Sati Mata's body then got scattered all over the region which were later established as Shakti Peethas by Bhagwan Shiva himself.Its believed that the head of Sati fell here and it was called Sirkhanda Mata Temple before, but with passage of time it became Surkanda.

हिन्दु धर्म के 18 पुराणों में से एक गरुड़ पुराण का हिन्दु धर्म में बड़ा महत्व है। गरुड़ पुराण में मृत्यु के बाद सद्गती की व्याख्या मिलती है। इस पुराण के अधिष्ठातृ देव भगवान विष्णु हैं, इसलिए ये वैष्णव पुराण है।


गरुड़ पुराण के अनुसार हमारे कर्मों का फल हमें हमारे जीवन-काल में तो मिलता ही है परंतु मृत्यु के बाद भी अच्छे बुरे कार्यों का उनके अनुसार फल मिलता है। इस कारण इस पुराण में निहित ज्ञान को प्राप्त करने के लिए घर के किसी सदस्य की मृत्यु के बाद का समय निर्धारित किया गया है...

..ताकि उस समय हम जीवन-मरण से जुड़े सभी सत्य जान सकें और मृत्यु के कारण बिछडने वाले सदस्य का दुख कम हो सके।
गरुड़ पुराण में विष्णु की भक्ति व अवतारों का विस्तार से उसी प्रकार वर्णन मिलता है जिस प्रकार भगवत पुराण में।आरम्भ में मनु से सृष्टि की उत्पत्ति,ध्रुव चरित्र की कथा मिलती है।


तदुपरांत सुर्य व चंद्र ग्रहों के मंत्र, शिव-पार्वती मंत्र,इन्द्र सम्बंधित मंत्र,सरस्वती मंत्र और नौ शक्तियों के बारे में विस्तार से बताया गया है।
इस पुराण में उन्नीस हज़ार श्लोक बताए जाते हैं और इसे दो भागों में कहा जाता है।
प्रथम भाग में विष्णुभक्ति और पूजा विधियों का उल्लेख है।

मृत्यु के उपरांत गरुड़ पुराण के श्रवण का प्रावधान है ।
पुराण के द्वितीय भाग में 'प्रेतकल्प' का विस्तार से वर्णन और नरकों में जीव के पड़ने का वृत्तांत मिलता है। मरने के बाद मनुष्य की क्या गति होती है, उसका किस प्रकार की योनियों में जन्म होता है, प्रेत योनि से मुक्ति के उपाय...

Great article from @AsheSchow. I lived thru the 'Satanic Panic' of the 1980's/early 1990's asking myself "Has eveyrbody lost their GODDAMN MINDS?!"


The 3 big things that made the 1980's/early 1990's surreal for me.

1) Satanic Panic - satanism in the day cares ahhhh!

2) "Repressed memory" syndrome

3) Facilitated Communication [FC]

All 3 led to massive abuse.

"Therapists" -and I use the term to describe these quacks loosely - would hypnotize people & convince they they were 'reliving' past memories of Mom & Dad killing babies in Satanic rituals in the basement while they were growing up.

Other 'therapists' would badger kids until they invented stories about watching alligators eat babies dropped into a lake from a hot air balloon. Kids would deny anything happened for hours until the therapist 'broke through' and 'found' the 'truth'.

FC was a movement that started with the claim severely handicapped individuals were able to 'type' legible sentences & communicate if a 'helper' guided their hands over a keyboard.

For the record: that's not a "strong work ethic."
That's exploiting young unattached engineers and spinning it as "team culture."

That's not something to aspire to. That's not good management. If you're working sustained 70+ hrweeks, somebody is taking advantage of you.

We have fetishized the overworked engineer. It's toxic but so pervasive that Mr. Ng (and others) feel it's ok to advertise as a positive.

Having this as "culture" breeds a monoculture of unattached, young engineers. Not good for them & not good for your company long term.

It's not good for them because their first job burns them out and physically wears them down. This happened to me and many of my coworkers.
