Islamic language that dehumanizes unbelievers is where Islamic violence begins. Slurs like Kuffar (derogatory term for someone who doesn't believe Islam) and Najis (filth) are weaponzied language, designed to ”other” and get their base worked up. /1 https://t.co/rxu64kds14

It is very clear from their language they do not recognize the humanity of those that doesn't believe what they believe. This is not due to the individual, but rather because of Islamic teachings found in it's source materials. https://t.co/l0Vtof5PUM
And when they curse their imaginary God characters wrath on you, and condemn you to an imaginary hellfire in an none existent afterlife all within the mythological construct of Islam, it is only telling of what they would rather do to us if they had a choice. /3
And to expect these people will have any good faith against someone else who is suffering and demanding a respite from that suffering is foolish. They do not see humans and human rights in the same light as we do. /4
They only see their own self interest and the interest of Islamic teachings that seak to oppress and dominate everyone else. All sane and rational people must say no to this bullshit, if we are ever to overcome islam’s assault on humanity. /5
When we don't speak up when their religion do not recognize the humanity of those that doesn't believe, we further empower them. We give their rhetoric selection advantage and that advantage optimizes in the population and continue the oppression. /6
The only way out of this madness is to call it out for what it is, barbaric violence based on ignorant mythology and unscientific understanding of nature and reality. It deserves no place in modernity. /7
The path to a free #SecularMaldives is through a #PostReligious approach. Society must be governed and legislated by logic, reason and sciences. We must choose compassion and empathy over fear and violence. We must stop tolerating intolerance to break free. #FikuryInqilab 8/8

The entire discussion around Facebook’s disclosures of what happened in 2016 is very frustrating. No exec stopped any investigations, but there were a lot of heated discussions about what to publish and when.

In the spring and summer of 2016, as reported by the Times, activity we traced to GRU was reported to the FBI. This was the standard model of interaction companies used for nation-state attacks against likely US targeted.

In the Spring of 2017, after a deep dive into the Fake News phenomena, the security team wanted to publish an update that covered what we had learned. At this point, we didn’t have any advertising content or the big IRA cluster, but we did know about the GRU model.

This report when through dozens of edits as different equities were represented. I did not have any meetings with Sheryl on the paper, but I can’t speak to whether she was in the loop with my higher-ups.

In the end, the difficult question of attribution was settled by us pointing to the DNI report instead of saying Russia or GRU directly. In my pre-briefs with members of Congress, I made it clear that we believed this action was GRU.
