हिन्दू धर्म में किसी भी कार्य की शुरुआत से पहले पंडित द्वारा एक विशेष मुहूर्त निकलवाया जाता है | कार्य मंगलमय और लाभदायक हो इसलिए सही वार, नक्षत्र और तिथि देखी जाती है और इसलिए पंचांग का उपयोग होता है | कौनसा दिन और समय कितना शुभ है इसकी सटीक जानकारी पंचांग के माध्यम से आसानी से

प्राप्त हो सकती है पर इसको जानना भी एक कला है क्युकी हर कोई इतनी गूढ़ गणना करने में असमर्थ होता है |
पंचांग के पाँच अंग :

1) नक्षत्र: पंचांग का पहले अंग है नक्षत्र और प्राचीन ज्योतिष शास्त्र अनुसार 27 नक्षत्र होते है पर मुहूर्त की गणना करते है एक और नक्षत्र यानी 28 वे

नक्षत्र को भी गिना जाता है जो की "अभिजीत" नक्षत्र है | सभी मांगलिक कार्य जैसे शादी, मुंडन, सगाई, गृह प्रवेश आदि से पहले नक्षत्रो का सही स्थान पर होना बहुत ज़रूरी है |

2) तिथी : पंचांग का दूसरा अंग तिथी है और यह 16 प्रकार की होती है और इनमे भी पूर्णिमां और अमावस

दो सबसे महत्वपूर्ण तिथियां होती है | यह दोनों महीने में एक बार ज़रूर आती है | हिन्दू कैलेंडर के हिसाब से एक महीने को दो भागो में बाटा जाता है जिसे कृष्णा पक्ष और शुक्ल पक्ष के नाम से जान जाता है | अमावस और पूर्णिमा के बीच के समय को शुक्ल पक्ष कहा जाता है वही पूर्णिमा से अमावस के

मन्त्र के अन्य तत्त्व -

1. ऋषि- शिवमुख से जिस ऋषि ने मन्त्र को सुनकर सिद्ध किया वही उसका प्रणेता है। उस मन्त्र का आदिगुरु उस ऋषि को मानकर जप करने से फल प्राप्त होगा। अतः विनियोग में ऋषि का उल्लेख जरुरी है।

2. देवता- मन्त्र की शक्ति के अधिष्ठाता देव का ज्ञान होना जरुरी है।

3. छन्दः संसार की उत्पत्ति हेतु ब्रह्म की शक्ति का छन्दोमय आवरण माना है अतः मन्त्र की शक्ति का विभाग, प्रकार जानने हेतु छन्द का ज्ञान विनियोग हेतु जरूरी है।

4. बीज मन्त्र जो बीज है उसी अनुरूप मन्त्र का फल व दिशा होती है अतः इसका स्मरण अवश्य किया जाना चाहियें। बीज मन्त्र का गर्भ होता है।

5. शक्ति- जिसकी सहायता से बीज मन्त्र बन जाता है वह शक्ति कहलाती है। विनियोग ऋषि, छन्द, देवता, बीज, शक्ति एवं कीलक का उल्लेख करते हुये अपनी कामना का

उल्लेख करके (सकाम अथवा निष्काम) विनियोग करने से मन्त्र के फल की दिशा एवं मार्ग तथा प्रतिफल का स्वरूप निर्धारित होता है।

6. ऋषिन्यास- विनियोग के बाद मन्त्र का ऋष्यदिन्यस करके ऋषि, देवता, छन्द, बीज आदि आपके अंग बन जाते हैं और आपके शरीर को मन्त्र-सदृश बना देते हैं।

The water used in prayer converts into vajra (hard stones) and destroys demons. The destruction of demons through sun-rays is figurative language. The demons for mankind are typhoid, tuberculosis, pneumonia etc. and their bacterias in water are destroyed by

the divine strength of sun-rays. The germs of anthrax, which survive years of drying, are killed by sun-rays in one and a half hours. Likewise, the harmful germs of cholera, pneumonia, small pox, T.B., which survive in boiling water are easily killed by the ultraviolet rays of

the sun, reactivated by water.”

In suryarghya, the devotees stand, in the morning facing the sun, take handful “attentively, you will see the seven coloured spectrum of light.
It is considered proper to offer water to the sun from a lota with convex edge. If the edge of the

pot, from which you are offering water to the sun, is concave, you will see the sun in a bigger form

This is very unique temple as Shiva and Vishnu both are in the “linga” form in the same Garbhagriham. The Srikovil is in a circular pattern. Temple's Prathishta was done by Parasurama.
