We all are aware of each and every aspect of Prabhu Shri Ram's life. But not many will know the previous life of the horse selected for the Ashwamedha Yagya.

The story describes the preparations for this

Yagya as directed by Muni Vashishtha. This Yagya was well attended by Kings, Muni's and even devtas from swarg lok. Sixty four Kings were directed to bring the pious water of Saryu. After performing the puja of Devta's, Rishi's and Brahmins, it was the time for the Yagya horse to

sanctified. So the pious water was poured on the horse.

But the next words of Shri Ram made everyone curious with attention. Prabhu said to the horse that in this Mandap full of sacred people, it is now your turn to purify me. This sounded very very strange to all present there

Prabhu was the antaryaami and he uttering these words sounded strange. But Prabhu innocently touches the horse.

As soon as Prabhu touched the horse it started acquiring a human form. Prabhu now told the man to reveal his identity.

After paying his respects to Prabhu,

he narrated his story from previous life. He was a Brahmin but once due to his false bragging he was suffering its consequences in this life. Once he was sitting on the banks of Saryu river and trying to fool people by his conceit. It was that time when Rishi Durvaasa happened

The water used in prayer converts into vajra (hard stones) and destroys demons. The destruction of demons through sun-rays is figurative language. The demons for mankind are typhoid, tuberculosis, pneumonia etc. and their bacterias in water are destroyed by

the divine strength of sun-rays. The germs of anthrax, which survive years of drying, are killed by sun-rays in one and a half hours. Likewise, the harmful germs of cholera, pneumonia, small pox, T.B., which survive in boiling water are easily killed by the ultraviolet rays of

the sun, reactivated by water.”

In suryarghya, the devotees stand, in the morning facing the sun, take handful “attentively, you will see the seven coloured spectrum of light.
It is considered proper to offer water to the sun from a lota with convex edge. If the edge of the

pot, from which you are offering water to the sun, is concave, you will see the sun in a bigger form
In such a situation our eyes will not be in a position to bear the sun-rays. It would be better if the lota is of copper or brass, instead of a bright metal such as aluminium or

Born in Chhatimgram village, Bogra District,Her father's name was Atmaram Choudhury.Bhabani was married off to Raja Ramkanta Moitra,the then zamindar of Rajshahi.After his death, Bhabani became the zamindar, and started being referred to as Rani.She was known as Ardhabangeshwari.

A woman as a zamindar was extremely rare in those days, but Rani Bhabani managed the vast Rajshahi zamindari most efficiently and effectively for over four decades.
Maharani Bhavani was very pious in her personal life. She passed her life in a strict disciplined way.

She conducted the administrative work skillfully. As a Maharani she was an impartial judge. Rani Bhavani had a very hard time during the fag end of her life. The Zamindari (estate) incurred serious loss due to the change of the revenue policy of the company.

In spite of being the owner of a large Zamindari (estate), she had to depend on the stipend of the government in the later part of her life. The amount of this stipend gradually decreased and became Rs. 1000/- only in the end.

We’ve all grown up listening to stories of Shri Krishna. This one is a famous story of Shri Krishna in Guruvayur Temple, also called Dakshina Dwaraka.

There lived a villager who planted coconut saplings and had promised that he would offer the 'first coconut' from each of his coconut trees to "Guruvayurappan". When the trees started to yield coconuts, he collected the first coconut from all the trees in a sack 👇

and set forth to Guruvayur.

On the way he was stopped by a robber who asked all the items in the sack. The villager told the robber that the coconuts in the sack belonged to Guruvayurappan and so he was unable to hand it over.

The robber with anger asked the villager "Is Guruvaurappan's coconut any different? Does it have horns ?".
Saying so the robber pulled the sack forcefully out of the villager's hand, and coconuts came out..👇

To their astonishment each and every coconut in the sack had horns! Even today, the coconut with horns are displayed in the temple for devotees to see.
