Vedic Yajnas Srauta yajnas or sacred ones.

Paka Yajnas — ordinary rituals done easily as a basic duty

Havir Yajnas — occasional rituals done with some effort for attaining various things

Soma Yajnas — rare rituals with high levels of complexity done for world happiness

Each of these 3 classes have 7 types of Yajnas.

Paka Yajnas — offering of food made through the year at home. Agrahayani and Sravani are the key models on which others are based on.

Pitru Sraddam — done to honour ancestors every year

Parvana Sradda — performed for

the ancestors every month

Ashtaka — performed on the 8th day after full moon during the winter months for fathers
Sravani — every night from the fullmoon of Sravana month to the Margasirisa month there is a sarpabali (offering to the snakes) done to ward off harm from snakes

snakes during the rains.

Agrahayani — offering of kheer/payasam during the full moon of Margasirisa month

Chaitri — it is an offering made to Shiva where 4 roads meet during the fullmoon of Chaitra

Ashvayujih — simple food offering made to Shiva during the month of Ashvini

अग्निपुराण में धनुर्वेद के पांच अंग

यन्त्रमुक्त, पाणिमुक्त, मुक्तसंधारित, अमुक्त और बाहुयुद्ध - पाँच प्रकार का धनुर्वेद होता है। शस्त्र और अस्त्र ये दो भेद कहे हैं। शस्त्रास्त्रों के भी ऋजु और मायायुक्त दो भेद होते हैं।

तरकस से बाण को निकालना आदान कहलाता है। बाण को धनुष की प्रत्यञ्चा पर चढ़ाना सन्धान, लक्ष्य पर बाण को फेंकना मोक्षण, अल्पबलवाले लक्ष्य पर छोड़े गये अस्त्र को वापस लौटाना विनिवर्तन, विभिन्न पैंतरों में खड़े होकर धनुष पकड़ना, डोरी को खेंचना और बाण छोड़ना स्थान कहलाता है। तीन या चार

अङ्गुलियों से धनुष को पकड़ना मुष्टि, अंगूठा तर्जनी या मध्यमा अंगुली से डोरी को खेंचना प्रयोग, स्वतः या दूसरे से प्राप्त होनेवाले डोरी के आघात को दस्ताना पहनकर निवारण करना, कवच पहनकर दूसरों द्वारा छोड़े गये बाणों को रोकना अथवा सामने से आते हुए बाण को अपने बाण द्वारा काट देना

प्रायश्चित्त कहलाता है। इसी भाँति घूमते हुए वाहन से छोड़े गये बाण का स्वयं भी रथारूढ़ होकर वेधना मण्डल और शब्द के ऊपर बाण छोड़ना या एकसाथ अनेक लक्ष्यों पर शर-सन्धान करना ये सब रहस्य के अन्तर्गत आते हैं।

गुणागुणः- वृद्मुष्टनी, वज्रुमुष्टी, सिंहकर्णी, मत्सरी और काकर्णी—ये पांच मुष्टित है

पताका- जहाँ पर तर्जनी सीधी रहे और अंगूठे के मूल में मुड़े, उसे पताका कहते हैं। इसे बन्दूक की गोली चलाने में प्रयुक किया जाता है

The Maratha connection to Varanasi goes back to at least 1590, when Narayan Bhatt a Marathi Brahmin assisted Todarmal in rebuilding the Kashi Vishwanath temple (which had been destroyed by Sikander Lodhi and which was in turn destroyed by Aur@ngzeb).

He was the grandfather of Gagabhatt, who presided over Chhatrapati Shivaji’s coronation ceremony in 1674.

Chhatrapati Shivaji is himself known to have halted in disguise at Benares after successfully escaping from Agra, on his way to the

south.

Although not one to base any decision solely on emotional reactions, the destruction of temples in Kashi and Mathura played an important role in Shivaji Raje's decision to open hostilities against the Mughals in 1670.

Phi is related to Fibonacci series(0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34...)
&this series is responsible for everything dat is beautiful on this planet. Just try to calculate the ratio of any 2 successive numbers ÷ each of them by the number before it in above infinite series.

E.g. 3/2=1.5, 5/3=1.666, 8/5=1.6, 34/21=1.61904 and so on. Did you notice something? The ratio is coming almost same every time. This ratio is called 'Phi 'which is numerically represented as 1:1.618. This Golden Spiral is made in exact proportion of 1:1.618.

The thing I want to emphasize here is that we always find only those things appealing and attractive that have Phi. It's in our subconscious. Isn't it some revelation? We are the part of this Divine proportion of the God or the Mother Nature. Check these:

Rani Bhabani was the Queen of Natore, Bengal or 'Natorer Rani' as she was famously called. She made great contributions in Tarapith & renovated Benaras.

In Varanasi, Durga Kund Mandir was constructed by Rani Bhabani in the 18th century.

Born in Chhatimgram village, Bogra District,Her father's name was Atmaram Choudhury.Bhabani was married off to Raja Ramkanta Moitra,the then zamindar of Rajshahi.After his death, Bhabani became the zamindar, and started being referred to as Rani.She was known as Ardhabangeshwari.

A woman as a zamindar was extremely rare in those days, but Rani Bhabani managed the vast Rajshahi zamindari most efficiently and effectively for over four decades.
Maharani Bhavani was very pious in her personal life. She passed her life in a strict disciplined way.

She conducted the administrative work skillfully. As a Maharani she was an impartial judge. Rani Bhavani had a very hard time during the fag end of her life. The Zamindari (estate) incurred serious loss due to the change of the revenue policy of the company.

In spite of being the owner of a large Zamindari (estate), she had to depend on the stipend of the government in the later part of her life. The amount of this stipend gradually decreased and became Rs. 1000/- only in the end.

MAHARAANI TARARANI: THE QUEEN OF MARATHAS

Rani Tarabai was the brave daughter-in-law of Chhatrapati Shivaji and one of the greatest medieval Monarchs India ever had.
She was born in 1675 to one of the bravest commander-in-chiefs of Shivaji's Army named Hambir Rao Mohite.

Tarabai was just 8yrs old when she was married to Shivaji's younger son, Rajaram. Mughals and Marathas were constantly at war with each other. Shivaji was crowned the ruler of the Independent Maratha Swarajya in 1674 which was established by him.

However,the great leader died in 1680&the Maratha Samrajya went into a complete&total chaos.Marathas saw some very tough times ahead. In 1689,when Raigad Fort fell to the Mughal Army of over 15000,Shivaji's first wife Saibai and his elder son Sambhaji were captured&put to death.

Sambhaji's wife and son Shahu were taken prisoners to the Mughal court. During the same battle, Shivaji's second son Rajaram(Tarabai's husband) , who was the heir to the throne now, managed to escape using a disguise. He made his way to the Gingee Fort in Tamil Nadu.

Mughal General Zulfikar Khan, however, followed them to Gingee laying siege to the Gingee Fort. From 1690-1698,This was the longest siege by a Mughal Army of any Fort which stands testimony to the military and diplomatic credentials of Rani Tarabai.

PETER PADUKAM - THE LEGEND OF MADURAI MEENAKSHI TEMPLE AND A BRITISH COLLECTOR.

A British Collector named Rous Peter was appointed as Collector of Madurai from 1812 to 1828.

Though a Christian by faith, he respected all faiths including Hinduism and also honored local practice

Collector Peter was the temple administrator of the Meenakshi Amman Temple and conducted all his duties with sincerity and honesty and respected the religious sentiments of all people.

Collector Rous Peter respected and treated people of all faiths equally and this noble trait

earned him the popular nickname ‘Peter Pandian'

Goddess Meenakshi Amman Temple was situated between Collector Peter's residence and office.

Everyday he used to go to the office by his horse and while crossing the temple, he got down from his horse, removed the hat and his shoes

and crossed the whole path on his foot.

Through this small gesture he expressed his reverence to the Goddess!

One day there was a heavy downpour in Madurai city and River Vaigai was in spate.

Collector was sleeping in his residence and was suddenly disturbed and woken up by

the sound of anklets and he left his bed to find out from where the sound had came.

He saw a small girl wearing pattuvastrams (silk garments) and precious ornaments and addressing him as 'Peter come this way'.

Muhiyudin Sayyid Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA) was one of the greatest Islamic Saint, Scholar, and Jurist. The honorific Muhiyudin denotes his status with many Sufis as a "reviver of religion". Jilani refers to his place of birth. He also carried the epithet Baghdadi.

Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani was born on the eve of the 2nd of Ramadan 470 AH. His birth was a great blessing for the Ummah. It was the arrival of the Sultan al-Awliya (King of the Awliya) of that era, which had been foretold for centuries before his birth.
