Dholavira, situated on the Tropic of Cancer, was an important port city in 2500 BCE when sea levels were higher. Since the city was a hub of commerce & trade with West Asia , keeping track of time was crucial to the city. It was located on an island in today's Rann of Kutch.

Latest accelerator based radiocarbon dating suggests Dholavira was occupied from at least 3,500 BCE (pre Harappan). However, the settlement possibly started earlier since the oldest settlement level could not be dated due to lack of datable material.

This specific discovery was made in the "Bailey" of the city, a 13-room structure with a plan including 2 circular rooms, unlike all other structures in the city. Many features indicate the circular rooms of the Bailey were built intentionally for astronomical observation.

Unlike the rest of Dholavira, the Bailey rises from South to North & was intentionally built on an incline at 23.5 deg. corresponding exactly to the latitude of the city, so that it points to the region of sky where stars always would be circumpolar.

की सलाह दी।
रणनीति के तहत रानी ने खिलजी को पत्र भेजकर शर्त की रखी की उनके साथ उनकी हजारों दासिया भी आएंगी।
उन पालकियों में चुने हुए राजपूत योद्धा थे जिनका नेतृत्व रानी की पालकी में बैठे गोरा बादल कर रहे थे।

खिलजी ने रानी की पालकी को रतन सिंह से मिलने की अनुमति दे दी।
जैसे ही पालकी तम्बू में पहुंची,उसमे बैठे गोरा ने रावल को घोड़े पर तुरंत रवाना कर दिया। और योद्धाओं ने खिलजी सेना पर हमला कर दिया,जिससे पहले खिलजी कुछ समझ पाता,रत्न सिंह को दुर्ग में सुरक्षित भेज दिया गया।

गोरा और बादल वीरो की तरह दुश्मनों से लड़ते रहे और अदम्य साहस का परिचय देते हुए वीरगति को प्राप्त हो गए।
कहा जाता है उनका सिर कट गया लेकिन धड खिलजी की सेना से लड़ता रहा।

ऐसे वीरों को कोटि कोटि नमन।

After the Skandagupta mostly later Gupta kings took control but many were considered drastically weak.

Battle was between the Maratha Warrior Baji Prabhu Deshpande and Sidi Masoud of Adil Shahi Sultanate.

In 1660, the Maratha King Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji was trapped in the fort of Panhala, under siege and vastly outnumbered by an Adilshahis army led by Sidi Masoud.

And while everyone is thinking that finally the Maratha king will be subdued, Shivaji planned to escape to the fort of Vishalgadh. It was administered by a Maratha chieftain named Range Narayan Orpe under Shivaji.

For months the siege warfare continued as Shivaji made sure that the food source of the Besieging army drops down, due to which they will initiate a general assault on the castle.

This is a beautiful story of Guruvayurappan. Once there lived in Guruvayur a poor family. Kitta, his wife & kids were struggling for their daily needs. With only a coconut tree in house, he earned a living by selling coconuts.

Kitta was from a low caste family. He was a great devotee of Guruvayurappan. Everyday before going to work he always prayed infront of a picture of Guruvayurappan in his house. His only wish was to worship at Guruvayur & have annadanam in temple. But he was not allowed there

It was Utsavam time in Guruvayur. From far behind kitta and family worshipped Guruvayurappan. Annadanam was given daily and no one was left empty stomach. Only Kitta didn't receive. That night, it was only Kitta's family who was sleeping without food. After temple nada closed

Shri Krishna, dressed himself as a Brahmin went to temple Kitchen. He packed food and went directly to kitta's house. Reaching Kitta's house, Shri Krishna told he was sent by a cook of Guruvayur temple and gave them the food he packed. Kitta and family was very happy seeing food.

When Kitta finished his food, Brahmin asked it will be better if he get a tender coconut( karikku)to drink. Kitta climbed the tree and gave all coconuts to him. After having 1 tender coconut, the Brahmin asked to bring remaining coconuts to Guruvayur temple the next day.

With the results are out. The public has chosen a Govt & all of us should accept this.
There is no point in blaming a sect of people etc., The result was almost expected & hence nothing wrong. Few chose to be ostrich & were pining hopes which were different from reality.

I won't blame them but if they were following politics from SM alone, they will be like that. In SM, we have the option to choose our friends whose vibes match with us.

EPS on the other h& has done a good job. He had proved as a good CM. Now he has got an opportunity to be a good Opposition leader.
One should not 4get that the proper working of EPS or AIADMK is mainly attributed to the way DMK functioned as an opposition party.

DMK kept the Govt on tenterhooks. With their claims & declarations, they have made Govt reactive in almost all the issues.
Govt might have had plans but MKS was swift to pounce on the issue & gave suggestions (which the Govt already froze).

This ended as if DMK's suggestions were adopted by the ruling Govt.

It is easy to point fingers when one is in opposition. MKS will realize now the serious issues. The debts TN is having. He had promised or doled many freebies - one has to wait & watch how he h&les it.

The siege failed to succeed as Jani Beg’s army began suffering from a disease. Jani Beg ordered his troops to catapult over the corpses of his infected troops across the walls into the #Christian town. Called it “#Jihad”.

Within days, this led to a huge stench inside the town and inhabitants began suffering from diseases.

The inhabitants fled, taking with them the disease to Sicily and other parts of Europe.

To unite all kinds of people, he created two types:

1. Those who believed in 🌺Saguna Brahman🌺

When Brahman does the work of creation, preservation and destruction with the help of his maya (माया), Brahman (ब्रह्म) is called as saguna brahman.

People from different parts worshipped different deities. To create harmony between all, he created Panchayatan, in which only 5 main forms of dieties will be worshipped, that is, Ganpati, Shiva, Vishnu, Devi (Ambika), and Surya.

2. Those who believed in 💮Nirguna Brahman (निर्गुण ब्रह्म)💮

Nirguna brahman is a considered as formless, indivisible, unchanging, attributeless, beyond maya and peaceful. Brahman is Sat-Chit-Anand. And for those who believe this, all dieties combine into one Brahman.

The word 'Advaita' ( अद्वैत ) means non-duality. It is a philosophy which describes that there is only one reality and one truth i.e. Brahman. All else is not real, not eternal and is of transient nature.

Story of a Brave Brahmin!

When a Brahmin priest defended the temple of Goddess Kali with his life:

This picture shows the Farman of Aurangzeb (3 September 1667) ordering destruction of Kalkaji temple in Delhi.

Reason given? Hindus were gathering in large numbers at the Temple!

That was enough for Aurangzeb to order hundred beldars to go and demolish the Temple without haste!

But when a Brahmin priest of the temple saw the demolishers, he drew out a sword and killed one of them.

He turned back and attacked the Qazi who led demolition squad into temple. The Brahmin was eventually caught and stoned to death.

Shri Hanuman, the cosmic form of energy, strength, intellect and devotion is always seen adorned with sindoor all his body.
But, behind this sindoori colour is a beautiful story which depicts the devotion of Hanuman for Shri Ram.

As Sita Mata adorned herself, she applied sindoor to her forehead. Inquisitive Hanuman observed this action and asked her the reason for doing so. She smiled and replied that by applying sindoor, she ensured a long life for her husband Shri Ram.

The more sindoor she applied, the longer Shri Ram's life would be.
Devoted Hanuman was excited to hear this. Because of his love for Shri Ram, he immediately went forward and smeared his entire body with sindoor, in an effort to ensure Rama’s immortality.

Shri Ram and Sita Mata saw that Hanuman was completly covered in sindoor from head to toe and was curious as to know why.
Hanumanji related his conversation with Sita Mata and thought that if a little pinch of sindoor could do so much for his Swamy,

imagine the protection if Hanuman covered his entire body with it.

Sita Mata, moved by the gesture, explained to Hanuman that applying sindoor was a tradition for married women. Shri Ram, too, was deeply touched by his bhakta's devotion.

Why does one have a Prayer room in home?

Most Indian homes have a prayer room or altar. A lamp is lit and the God worshipped each day.

Further spiritual practices like japa - (repetition of the God's name), meditation, paaraayana- reading of the scriptures, prayers, and devotional singing etc are also done here.

Special worship is done on auspicious occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, festivals etc., Each member of the family - young or old - communes with and worships the Divine here.

God is the true holder of the house we live in too. The prayer room is the Master room of the house. We are the earthly occupants of His property. This view rids us of false pride and possessiveness.

The ideal attitude to take is to respect the God as the true owner of our homes and us as caretakers of His home. But if that is relatively difficult, we could at least think of Him as a very welcome guest.

One day, he was walking along a lonely path near Varanasi, when a troop of monkeys, quite aggressive, rushed towards him from behind. Vivekananda took to his heels. But could he give the slip to the swift monkeys?

The distance between him and the monkeys was becoming narrower and narrower and he was getting rather panicky. Suddenly he heard a voice of exhortation. A Sadhu or a holy man seated beside the road called out to him:

“Don’t run away. Face the brutes!”

Vivekananda stopped at once.

He turned and dared the monkeys to come near him. Taken aback, the monkeys stopped. As Vivekananda stared at them, they slowly dispersed.
