Suniti Choudhary & Shanti Ghosh were amongst the youngest freedom fighters&revolutionaries India ever had.

Born on 22May1917 in Comilla distt of West Bengal(present Bangladesh)to a middle class family,Suniti was influenced by freedom movement at a very young age.

More specifically she was influenced with the freedom fighters and revolutionaries. She was inspired by the revolutionary activities of Ullaskar Dutta who was also a revolutionary from Comilla. She studied in 'Faizunnissa Balika Vidyalaya' where she met Prafulla Nalini Brahma.

Prafulla had a great influence on her. She also gifted Suniti with the books on revolutionary material which were banned by the British.Prafulla also recruited her to the 'Jugantar Party'. The women wing of the party 'Tripura Zilla Chhatri Sangha' was joined by her later.

Later Suniti became the Major of District Volunteer Corps and led the women parade in honour of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose who came to town to address the student organisation. On being asked about the role of women in the revolutionary activities, Netaji immediately said...

...,'I would be pleased to see the women leading from the front'.
In the annual conference of 'Tripura Zilla Chhatri Sangha' held on 6May1931,she was chosen as Captain of Women's Volunteer Corps.She became custodian of firearms&incharge of training female members of organisation.

Thirumalai Murugan Temple is located in Tenkasi district of Tamil Nadu. Muruga is worshipped as Thirumalai kumarasamy. Temple is situated near Kerala border and known to be where Shri Murugan gave darshan to Rishi Agasthiar

Devi is worshipped in the temple as Thirumalai Kaali amman

Sthala Puranam says that, there was a priest named Poovanbhattar of Thirumalai Kaali amman. Murugar appeared in a dream of the bhattar and said to find a Vigraham, lying in particular place which is of Thirumalaikumaran

Bhattar conveyed the news to the Pandalam Raja and they went to find out the vigraham. Surprisingly ants showed the way to find the Vigraham. Thus Murugan vigraham was found and Prathista was done here. There is a lake with pure water on the top of the hill

which is said to be created by Agasthiyar. It is believed that kannaki of
Chilapathikaram visited here before going to Kerala. Sapthamathrukkal also worshipped Murugan here. Kanthashashti Thiruvizha is very famous here.

Once, Muruga lost to Ganesha in a contest on divine fruit; he left Kailasha and came here in anger.
Shiva tried to pacify him by saying that he (Muruga) himself was the divine fruit (pazaham nee). So the place became Palani.

Meanwhile, Maharishi Agastya asked his disciple, Idumban, to move the hills of Sivagiri and Shaktigiri further South. Idumban bore the hills slung across his shoulders, in the form of a kavadi one on either side. When he was tired, he placed the kavadi near Palani to take rest.

Sri Muruga tested him by making the hills so heavy that Idumban could not lift them. When he challenged Muruga, he was killed in the battle. Muruga restored his life again and make him dwarapalaka of the hill. Also, he promised to bless all who came bearing a kavadi here.

The murti was made of navapashanam by Siddha Bogar. Milk and panchamrita abhishekam is believed to extract medicines from it.
The panchamritham offered here is very famous. It is a combination of 5 natural substances-banana, jaggery, cow ghee, honey and cardamom.

{Why did Shri Krishna have 16thousand wives?}

After performing Tapasya at an exquisite place called Badrikashram on Mount Himachal,The divine glory of Bhagwan Shrihari's अंशावतार Nara- Narayana(considered to be superior among munivar's) was spreading all over the world.

After seeing this, jealousy arose in Indra Deva's Mind.

He started thinking that Nar Narayana may take his Raja Singhasana away from him , after completing Tapasya, and I have to stop them from doing so.

After which, with the intention of stopping the penance of Nara-Narayana

Devraj Indra went to Gandhamadhan parvat,

And he saw that the body of Nar-Narayana due to the grace of tapasya looks like a brightened sun.

Indra create many disturbance during the tapasya like heat, maya, Luring them with many kinds of boons, etc.

but there was no movement in Nara Narayana, He failed because Nara Narayana was engaged in the worship of Goddess Bhagwati at that time and Goddess Bhagwati who herself is the goddess of great Maya, no matter how much maya anyone's know, they cannot succeed in breaking the ..

tapasya of her worshipper .

After returning from there, Indra Called Kāmadev & वसंत ऋतु (spring season) he ordered them to subdue Nar - Narayana & dissolve their austerity, and the Apsaras will also help them in this task, in return for which, he will give them a great boon.

Other aspects of Sandhyavandanam:
When a person does a job wholeheartedly, we say that the person does the activity holding his breath. As a matter of fact argayam to be offered holding one's breath.If we do this everyday all evil forces will be 1/4

destroyed. To do this first we should hold the breath. That is we need to control the breath. Nowadays all we do is, to just hold our nose with our fingers .Shastra says instead of nearly holding the nose, control the vital breath itself .Pranayama means controlling the 2/4

breath. Mind must be very focused in whatever one does. To do asthra prayogam of water also ,mind must be focused. That is why breath is to be controlled .One can ask how is that if breathing is controlled ,mind will be still ? We see when the mind is still the breath also 3/4

stops. Then we breathe fast compensating the breath lost. Therefore like how when the mind is still ,breath stops same way when breath stops mind will be very focused. That is the reason why the breath is to be controlled through Pranayamam before argiyam is given. 4/4

Srimad Ramayanam - jnAnam through guru katAkSam

Sabhari mOkSam is an episode in Aranya Kandam which is considered to be mOkSa kAndam.

In my earlier article, I had written about the importance of guru that gets highlighted through the interaction between Bhagawan and Sabhari. 1

Let us look at what that guru katAkSam will do.

Sabhari was a vagabond, who by chance stumbled onto Rishi Mathanga. He found that she’s a clean soul and worthy of being given tAraka brahmam and offered that to her.

Sabhari enquired as to what the name meant. 2

An ideal guru is someone who gives Narayana, and so with Rishi Mathanga being one, he said that the meaning of that name (tAraka brahmam) will find its way to her abode.

When Rama and Lakshmana visited Sabhari’s abode, the former enquired about the progress of her penance 3

and if it materialised.

Sabhari’s jnAnam was complete with Rishi Mathanga’s katAkSam and this reflected in her response to Rama.

She answered intelligently -

aDyaprAptA tapa siDDiH tava sanDarSanAn maya
aDyamE sapalam janma taptam GuruvaSca supUjitA: 4

அத்ய ப்ராப்தா தப சித்திஹி தவ சந்தர்ஷனான் மயா
அத்ய மே சபலம் ஜன்ம தப்தம் குருவஷச்ச ஸுபூஜித:

My tapas materialised upon seeing you. This happened due to guru katAkSam and my sEvA to him who predicted this event in advance.

Chakkulathukavu Kshetram is located in Alappuzha District of Kerala.  Chakkulathukavu Amma is Durga Devi in the concept of Vanadurga.

Sthala Puranam says that, Prathista of Vigraham was done by Narada Muni.

A hunter who went to cut wood in the forest tried to kill a snake which attacked him. Later, he saw the same snake near a pond. Hunter attacked it again which was lying on a snake pit. Suddenly the pit burst and water flowed from it.
A Rishi appeared in front of the

astonished hunter and told hunter's family that inside the pit there is a Devi Vigraham. Saying so the Rishi took Vigraham and did Prathista. He asked the hunter's family to do pooja and disappeared.

That night,  the hunter had a dream and he understood that the rishi who came

was Narada Muni. Chakkulathukavu Pongala is very famous.
Story behind this is, The hunter and his family used to make food in mud pots while living in forest. One day, they could not make any Naivedyam. It is said that the vessels

which he used to make Naivedyam was filled with food.  Hunter and his family believed that it was Devi, herself who prepared the food. In this memory Pongala is celebrated here.

This is one of the Abhimana Kshetram of Sri Vishnu and is also known as Vakulaaranya Kshetram. Here Sri Kodhandaramar along with Sri Seetha, Lakshmana and Hanuman appear in Thirukalyana kolam.

When Rama completed Vanvaas and was preparing to return to Ayodhya, the Rishis prayed to him to stay with them. Torn between duty to return to his kingdom and love towards the Rishis, Rama created His own enchanting divine form as a murti, left it with them and went to Ayodhya.

Centuries later when king Sarabhoji ruled Thanjavur, he had a dream. In the dream, Rama asked him to unearth the vigraha from Thalai Gnayiru (near Thiruthuraipoondi). The King unearthed the murtis and on his way back, he rested at Vaduvur.

The people of Vaduvur pleaded with the king to establish the deities in their Rukmani-Sathyabhama Gopalan Mandir. The King agreed and since then Rama has been the main deity in the Gopalan Kshetram.

Narada Rishi once returning from Indralok collected few Parijatha flowers&reached Dwaraka.There he met Bhagwan Krishna&gave the heavenly flowers to him.Narada explained the greatness of Parijatha flowers & also said that these flowers must be given to the most loved ones.

Despite knowing Satyabhama’s anger,Krishna gave it to Rukmani Devi.Narada Rishi then went to palace of Satyabhama. He narrated whole incident that had happened.Satyabhama turned furious on hearing that Krishna gave Parijatha to Rukmini.Then Satyabhama shows her anger to Krishna.

Beautiful Story of Guruvayurappan

Poonathanam Namboothiri was a great devotee of Guruvayurappan. One day Poonthanam was going to Guruvayur Kshetram. It was night time and eventhough Namboothiri was tired he continued to walk

Suddenly some thieves came and blocked his way. Poonthanam cried for Shri Krishna to help. Thieves snatched all valuables from him, but Namboothiri holding his Bhaghavatam book called Shri Krishna to help. That time a man came in a horse back and fought with thieves and protected

Namboothiri. Poonthanam thanked Krishna for helping him from danger and said to the man that "Shri Krishna has send you here and I don't know how to thank you".  The man smiled and told that he is Mangattachan, minister of  samoodhiris. Poonthanam once again thanked him and

gave his ring to Mangattachan as a token of thanks and continued his journey. He reached Guruvayur early morning for Nirmalya Darshan. Temple poojari came near him and told that Guruvayurappan came in his dreams and asked to hand over the ring to poonthanam.

When he opened Kshetra Nada poonthanam was surprised to see his ring on Guruvayurappan, which he gifted to Mangattachan. He understood that it was Guruvayurappan who came as Mangattachan to protect him. This is how Bhagwan treat his devotees.

Bhoga Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple, Devarayanadurga is located near Tumkur of Karnataka. There are two temples are here for Narasimha Swamy, one is at the base of the hill which is Bhoga Narasimhar and 👇

the other on the top of  hill which is Yoga Narasimhar.

Bhoga Narasimha swamy Temple Prathista is said to be done by Maharshi Durvasa who did tapasya here. While doing tapasya Muni wished to bath in river Ganga and decided to travel to Ganga river bank,

At that time Ganga Devi appeared here and said she will remain here in the temple pond.

Yoga Narasimha swamy Prathista is believed to be done by Bhrama Deva who did tapasya here for many years.

Narasimhar appeared with Lakshmi Devi here to give darshan to Bhrama Deva here.

Papmochani is made of Paap or sin and mochani meaning remover.
So observing vrata on this Ekadashi removes the misdeeds committed knowingly or unknowingly.
This Ekadasi happens between Holi and Chaitra Navratri.

Medhavi, the son of Rishi Chyavana, was always engaged in meditation and lived a austere life. This made Devraaj Indra insecure. He sent Manjughosha, an apsara, to break his meditation.
She succeeded in making him lose his concentration.

Medhavi got immersed in worldly pleasures and time passed on.
Years later, Manjughosha asked him to let her go back. It was then that Medhavi realised his downfall. In anger, he cursed her to become the ugliest woman on Earth.
Medhavi returned to his father and sought his help.

Rishi Chyavan asked him and Manjughosha to observe the Paapmochni Ekadashi.
By observing this vrata, both of them were relieved of their sins/curse and were bestowed with Sri Vishnu’s grace.

Samveda is smallest of 4 Vedas.

There are 1875 mantras in Samveda out of which most are of Rigveda.

Few are from Atharva Veda and Yajurveda.

There are about 1000 shakhas in it like Jaiminiye, Kaumuthiye and much more.

Many Sages, saints and gurus have said that Shlokas of Samveda are coded and if they will be extracted, Samveda will become much larger in size in terms of number of Shlokas

Even Krishna has said "In Vedas, I'm Saamveda." The Shlokas in Samveda are related to Music, Medicine, art and much more.

Facts:

Few Mantras in Samveda are so strong that chanting them in proper way can cure your diseases.

There are few Mantras which assert the Scientific acumen of Vedic Sages. For example, one such Mantra talks that Moon doesn't have its own light and it reflects the light of sun.

The Shlokas talk in detail about Raag, musical instruments, Musical sounds, and such more.

The Shlokas are used in Yagna and have immense energy which can be used effectively.

Sri Devi Karumariamman mandir, Chennai, Tamilnadu

Sri Devi Karumariamman mandir is in Thiruverkadu, a suburb of Chennai. It is said that God Muruga came here and obtained the 'Vel' (spear) from His mother, Goddess Karumari (an avatar of Parvathi) 1/n

to fight the demon Suran and hence this place was called as 'Vel kadu' and became as Verkadu. As per legend Devi Karumariamman once disguised as a soothsayer visited Bhagwan Surya, the Sun God, to predict His future. 2/n

Not realising that the soothsayer is none other than Sakthi Matha, Surya ignored Her. Angered by his indifference, Devi Karumariamman immediately retreated. Bhagwan Surya lost His glory and the earth plunged into darkness. 3/n

Bhagwan Surya then realised His folly and pleaded forgiveness from Devi Karumariamman. In order to pacify mother Karumariamman, Suryadev said that His rays would fall on Her directly twice in a year and touch her feet. (in the month of Panguni (March- April) & during (Sep - Oct)

Mother Karumari Amman is worshipped here in two forms.A swayambu (self manifested) with only head visible above the ground and another one in a graceful sitting posture with all Parasakthi features,with four arms holding skull, sword, trishul, udukkai (damru). 5/n
