Looking at the incremental opportunity in Ophthalmics:-

Market size is not attractive for the Large Generic companies but for someone like Indoco which has a smalll base in exports business

As per the USFDA’s orange book, for Ophthalmic suspension drugs, only 3 out of 17 molecules have an active patent. Among the 14 molecules that are patent expired, 8 molecules are yet to see generic
competition.

Even for the one’s which have seen generic competition, the competitive intensity is very low and there is space for an additional entrant.. Entrenched players like Novartis, Bausch & Lomb and Abbvie have dominated this market with legacy products for decades.

Indoco Remedies and Sun Pharma are the only Indian generic manufacturers to have successfully won approvals for generic version of Ophthalmic suspensions in the US market. Indoco Remedies has recently launched generic version of Azopt (brinozolamide)

Take debt at an average rate of 0.7%. Buy Japanese stocks with dividend yield of 4%.

Stocks double, yields are itself enough to pay off the debt.

One and only true legend who has stuck to finding these idiosyncratic opportunities- Warren Buffett. Others can buy Shopify at 60 PS

Warren Buffett at 91 Years remains a vastly superior investor to the new called Tech Gurus. Reason being- Valuation focused and doesn't get carried away with the trend. That's the discipline..

What is a Balance Sheet:

The balance sheet displays the company’s total assets and how the assets are financed, either through debt or equity. It gives an idea of the financial health of an organization. It is like a snapshot of the financial position at a specified time.

Balance sheet consists of 3 components:
1⃣Assets
2⃣Equity
3⃣Liabilities

The balance sheet is based on the fundamental equation: Assets = Equity + Liabilities.

This is also the golden rule of Finance!

Now let’s dig into each line item on the Balance sheet and understand why the Balance sheet always tallies.

Let’s see how actual balance sheet looks like:

The first part of the BS is Assets.

Assets are those resources or things which the company owns. They can be divided into current as well as non-current assets or long term assets.

Non-current assets: Assets which cannot be easily converted to cash. Like buildings, machinery.
