#MedEd is showing it’s true colors yet again, with the abrupt transition in leadership in which the program director, Dr. Dennar was forcibly resigned from her position as PD without justifiable cause but ironically after she filed a lawsuit 👇🏾
Hey #AcademicMedicine & #MedTwitter, does anyone notice a pattern here?

Although each story may be considered n=1 (therefore easy to dismiss) collectively they tell a story that no one should be dismissing. #WomenInMedicine #BlackWomenInMedicine #BlackMenInMedicine #BeEthical pic.twitter.com/CDrKH0mCB7
I’m frankly tired. But again I speak up. This is completely unacceptable. #DNRTulane

Dr. Dennar faced misogynoir on top of interpersonal and systemic violence. I’m disgusted at the levels to this #DNRTulane
As someone who interviewed at this program, I was drawn by Tulane’s service to minority populations in a place hit by one of the worst natural disasters this country has seen. I was personally moved by my interview day. #DNRTulane
But this news is antithetical to everything I stand for and what I previously believed Tulane to stand for. Yet another Black woman has been forced out of a leadership position due to discriminatory practices. Legal intervention was required. #DNRTulane
\U0001f92fRalph D. Winter has written the best short explanation of the 2020 polarization within Calvinist & conservative circles over CRT, race, Marxism, etc. If you want to know why many blacks who were involved in the TGC world in '05 no longer are, read this! https://t.co/PvrzxzLjUr

Oh well, you are supposed to recruit.” Then they recruit more and more people, and set them also to recruiting still other people. Some day someone says, “Aren’t we supposed to be fighting a war?” “Oh yeah, there’s a war.” ... 2/
Church Mission-which is absolutely basic & absolutely valid-is to extend the faith & transform people into reliable people of integrity. Kingdom Mission is when the church stops thinking abt itself & its members & pursues God’s will in this world, not just pursues more members.3/
In his book Church Shift, Sunday Adelaja, the pastor of the largest church in Europe, says that when members do things like help in the nursery and direct traffic on Sunday, that’s not mission. It’s church housekeeping. 👀 4/
The church exists to extend the glory of God & His will in society whether or not it makes advances in church membership. Many are leaving the church today because what secular people are doing is more exciting, more relevant, concrete, & may seem to be more Biblically valid. 5/
Over the weekend, I experienced a truly amazing thing—a functioning society. I left dystopian Massachusetts for Utah, and in Utah I found a packed airport and the closest thing to normal I have experienced in 10 months.

I went to busy restaurants every night, and two of the three nights got to listen to live music, including—gasp—live singing and a band! After skiing, we sat around a firepit drinking, and met new people.
3/n
I met a friend whom I haven’t seen in a year and gave her a hug, without either of us giving a second thought. I met family and extended family; all greeted us with a warm embrace, a wide smile, and quickly ushered us inside.
4/n
I walked down main street in Park City and was able to luxuriate in being outside without being forced to wear a mask—though indoors it is required. Park City is Utah’s wealthiest and most liberal area, so there was a fair amount of outdoor masking, 80-85%.
5/n
While in Park City, people signaled either their membership in that liberal, affluent group, or their desire to be part of it, elsewhere was far different. Utahns report roughly equal masking to Massachusetts, 92.3% to Massachusetts’ 97.8% however..

Here's my story ⬇️ I worked in a preschool in 🇸🇪, masks were a taboo that no one dared to talk about. When I quit & said I didn't wanna put my health at risk anymore w/o 😷 my boss said "I understand, if you're scared of diseases this is no place for
A teater came to the preschool today. Two ppl were there from 7 am-1 pm. Saw one coughing & blowing his nose several times. The teater was indoors w/ singing & loud laughing.

Today is the day I quit my job. I refuse to work any longer in a place where no one cares about my safety
