People see what Trump is doing to the country. They see how much worse our country is doing than other countries dealing with Covid. They see the violence on both the right and the left that is exacerbated by Trump’s stoking of the divide.

They see how Trump lauds White Supremacists. They see how he caters to the super wealthy. They saw how he was revealed not only to not be a billionaire as he claimed, but to be millions of dollars in debt. He lies about everything. He’s not under audit. He never built a wall.
They see how he’s a desperate wuss, constantly attacking anyone who affronts his vanity - he just isn’t man enough to take criticism. He sucks up to dictators across the globe because he wants to be one - but he’s not smart enough.
They see how he goes on about Biden’s mental capacity but he can’t say the word Yosemite and shows massive signs of dementia and degeneration. America is on to his game of accusing his opponent of whatever his flaw is.
He made fun of Biden’s son for being a recovering drug addict - something almost all of us, Democrat or Republican, have in our lives and love.
He was impeached and the GOP never even took witnesses because they knew how damning their testimonies would be. He can never admit making any mistake ever - and this is never true of competent leaders, who balance their wisdom and intelligence with humility.
They see him bray about the stock market when hundreds of thousands of Americans are dying and they know the stock market is no longer an adequate representation of the economic well-being of basic Americans.
Any time anything good happens, he takes credit. Any time anything bad happens, he blames someone else. Most Americans know what a gross quality this is for a human being to have, and an even worse one for a leader.
He doesn’t attend briefings. According to Fauci, he hasn’t been to a task force meeting in months. He doesn’t read. He golfs more than any other President ever - twice as much as Obama, who he was constantly yelling at for golfing too much. He watches way too much TV.
His campaign is so in thrall to his ego, they spend inordinate amounts of money on TV in Washington DC, almost 100% democrat. So they’re fleecing millions from his followers to stop Trump from having a hissy fit, not to further the campaign.
He never divested himself of his business interests, something any President should do. He and his family are no longer allowed to operate a charity because they were busted ripping off kids with cancer and spending the money on themselves.
Trump likes to pretend his brand is synonymous with winning. But his real brand is losing - from Trump Steaks to Trump University to Trump Casinos to Trump’s America, everything he’s touched has not only been a failure but a catastrophic failure.
His Christianity is fake. He doesn’t go to church. He can’t recite a single phrase from the Bible. He lies about Christ.
He has been accused by over 25 women of sexual abuse. Some have accused him of violent rape. In his rape trial just last month his lawyers fought to exclude his DNA. That is not what innocent people do.
His own wife accused him of rape until they settled in court. He’s a racist going back to his days of not allowing black people to live in his apartment buildings and taking out full page ads in favor of executing the (innocent) Central Park Five.
He’s anti-science. He makes fun of Biden for wearing a mask and listening to doctors. He thinks he knows more than the 99% of climate change scientists who say climate change is real and adversely affected by human behavior.
He thinks you can bomb a tsunami, windmills cause cancer, and bleach kills coronavirus. He ranted for months about a Covid cure that he himself didn’t take when he got Covid. He’s an idiot.
Americans see that the Trump campaign, family, and White House are ridden with Covid whereas the Biden family and campaign have been hunky dory. I mean, come on, who do you really think they’re gonna trust to deal with this epidemic?
In the end, Trump won the electoral (but not the popular) vote last election because people hated Hillary. Today he is the most hated President in modern history. Also, his hair is so fucking stupid, how can his judgment on anything be trusted?
This is all off the top of my head as I’m on a plane. Sorry for any typos. Vote Blue like your life depends on it, because it just might.

I'm going to do two history threads on Ethiopia, one on its ancient history, one on its modern story (1800 to today). 🇪🇹

I'll begin with the ancient history ... and it goes way back. Because modern humans - and before that, the ancestors of humans - almost certainly originated in Ethiopia. 🇪🇹 (sub-thread):

The first likely historical reference to Ethiopia is ancient Egyptian records of trade expeditions to the "Land of Punt" in search of gold, ebony, ivory, incense, and wild animals, starting in c 2500 BC 🇪🇹

Ethiopians themselves believe that the Queen of Sheba, who visited Israel's King Solomon in the Bible (c 950 BC), came from Ethiopia (not Yemen, as others believe). Here she is meeting Solomon in a stain-glassed window in Addis Ababa's Holy Trinity Church. 🇪🇹

References to the Queen of Sheba are everywhere in Ethiopia. The national airline's frequent flier miles are even called "ShebaMiles". 🇪🇹

Viruses and other pathogens are often studied as stand-alone entities, despite that, in nature, they mostly live in multispecies associations called biofilms—both externally and within the host.

Microorganisms in biofilms are enclosed by an extracellular matrix that confers protection and improves survival. Previous studies have shown that viruses can secondarily colonize preexisting biofilms, and viral biofilms have also been described.

...we raise the perspective that CoVs can persistently infect bats due to their association with biofilm structures. This phenomenon potentially provides an optimal environment for nonpathogenic & well-adapted viruses to interact with the host, as well as for viral recombination.

Biofilms can also enhance virion viability in extracellular environments, such as on fomites and in aquatic sediments, allowing viral persistence and dissemination.
