POSITIVE MENTALITY IN A NEGATIVE ENVIRONMENT (THREAD)

First, know that WE are the captains of our ships.

All that you allow to mentally affect you, is because you allow it so.

You, just as easily, can take away the negative drain of outside circumstances by ‘flicking a switch’ within your mind.

It is imperative that you do not allow to get inside your head:

- Other people’s self-limiting beliefs
- Others’ opinions of you or your work

- Any thought that does not serve you or those around you in a helpful way

They are irrelevant, they are changing and most of all they are outside of your control.

Trying to control that which you have no directive over is literally impossible and a foolish man’s game.

All of man’s suffering comes from attempting to control that which is out of his hands

If you re within a negative environment

Start to visualise the outside circumstances as a blessing; -This environment is a test from the universe to give me to the tools of mental resilience

This way you are motivated and excited to test yourself against the waves of negativity - it becomes an enjoyable challenge and one that if endured will leave you with a stronger mindset than if you’d just had complete support your whole life

@crazydebbie516 Cancer never wins. An alternative thinking about cancer is based on the premise that all dis-ease is caused by a foreign body usually toxins like TOXIC heavy metals that accumulate in our body through time that then causes inflammation..

The inflammation causes our lymphatic system to respond to eliminate it so it produces mucus and we undergo detox.. but as we’re unaware of these heavy metals and other toxins..

Shyness can make you lose great opportunities in life.

Here are tips on how to break free from shyness.

1. Know the reasons why you’re shy.

It could be a traumatic social experience, environmental influences, genetics etc.
Being aware of the root of your shyness can help you become aware and accept who you truly are.

If you believe it has to do with your upbringing, examine your relationship with your parents now. Are they still domineering or are they shy themselves?

2. Identify the triggers.

By identifying what triggers your shyness, you can plan ahead and create a course of action for when you're placed in those situations. You can practice what you would do if faced with your triggers and work to overcome them.

3. Create what i call shyness bucket list

List out all the things you can't do because of your shyness and start overcoming them one by one. It is not easy but you have to build up confindence (if you perish you perish), you will not perish. talk to random people, join clubs etc

Toxic relationships are one of the major stressors responsible for mental health problems and most people don't know the signs of it and keep dragging it at the expense of their own mental health. A thread on it. 1/n

Just because you are in a relationship doesn't mean that your partner/friend can trespass your personal space. There have to be some boundaries set at the very beginning. 2/n

Though my family, my boyfriend and I make little reference to my being male, we are all aware of that fact. There is no deception, no games.

To make an effort to convince the world I am female is not the same thing. It is coercion. It is delusion. It is fundamentally wrong.

Stepping out and meeting the world as I am, a gender-nonconforming male, is brave. It’s scary. I know that what people think of me is what they think of ME.

There's this young couple I have known for a while. I see the way they dote on each other.

The Single Issue: A Thread about Microaggressions

I have a lot of friends and family who are single, many of them women. Sure, they might always or sometimes wish they had a good partner, but all of them are able to be happy, confident, and lead fulfilling lives as singles.

There's a stigma to being single in many circles, including or especially in Christian ones. Don't let ignorance or ignorant words destroy your capacity to enjoy yourself and your solitude!

These are some microaggressions that single women often endure.

1. Being asked why she is single?

You wouldn’t ask someone why they were married so don’t ask single women why they’re single. It requires no justification. It requires no deeper understanding. Each person's circumstance impacts why they may/may not want to be in a relationship

2. Assuming a women’s singleness is of her personality

Women who are strong, independent or focused their careers or hobbies are often blamed for their single relationship status. They're expected to ignore those ambitions or interests in order to actively seek relationships.

1. Think about keystone decisions a lot.

I was talking to a friend yesterday about how his decision to just SIP in MFs and not individual stocks have helped him avoid 100s of subsequent decisions on buying/selling individual stocks, days of research, and also worry.

Now compare this to me who has read a dozen + books on investing, is still confused about when to buy and sell stocks, always paranoid about the market crashes. I could have saved days/months of my life by just SIPing. Probably would have even made more money.

Some keystone decisions for me:
A. Wearing only company tees, a few random colored hoodies. I have 0 interest in fashion. I don't want to waste my time thinking about what to wear every day.

B. Saying No by default to most catchups, webinars, random engagements.

I don't want to think about who to say yes to and who to decline and feel guilty later. Think about all your keystone decisions. They will save you months over your lifetime.
