So this was a two-pronged attack. Donald installed his douchebag friends at the pentagon in exchange for a Medal of Freedom for Nunes, then hired former Blackwater dickbags to lead the coup while getting his Pentagon buddies to refuse to send backup... 9/
All while leaving Pence in the wind and allowing "group 2" (Blackwater) more time to access members of congress and destroy, steal, or taint the election certificates because his ally in the Pentagon wouldn't respond to calls for backup. 10/
All in exchange for the Blackwater pardons & a Nunes Medal of Freedom. Now trump has been forced to put out his "concession" video, Cruz is backing away, & republicans are "choosing sides" knowing that the coordination between the pentagon and trump is about to come out. 11/
Don't forget that Pence was chosen by Manafort and Hawley was chosen by Pence. And now Pence's COS has been banned from the White House. Also, Barr jumped ship and Biden said the Pentagon and OMB were stonewalling the transition. 12/
Oh, and trump aslo pardoned four Blackwater war criminals that slaughtered 17 Iraqi civilians including two children. He PARDONED them. Quid pro quo. Everything is a deal. 13/

BREAKING: THREAD: this is BIG news. A grand jury in DC has issued subpoenas to people with direct ties to donald. Let me break it down for you. For a year, we’ve been waiting to hear whether the DoJ probe into 1/6 would go beyond the “boots on the ground” attack at the Capitol 1/

And though Merrick Garland and Lisa Monaco said on multiple occasions that they will go after everyone at any level and wouldn’t shy away from politically charged probes, none of us had heard a peep about what they were doing (because thems the rules) 2/

Many argued that IF the DoJ was investigating, that we would have heard from witnesses that were called to testify. The counter argument to that was they just hadn’t gotten to the recalcitrant witnesses yet. 3/

We DID hear from one witness a few months back that told the press they were subpoenaed in an investigation into the funding of Sidney Powell’s PACS on the back of the big lie. But that didn’t necessarily tie to donald directly. 4/

And others argued that even though Garland said he’d look at everyone at any level, he didn’t directly say he was investigating BEYOND the day of the Capitol attack. WELL NOW WE HAVE WHAT WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR 5/

The solution to knife crime is not a quick fix and it isn't something that is going to come cheaply, I have been involved in local task forces discussions with MP's and been on countless marches but the problem is no one listens to the people on the ground;

millions of pounds get wasted producing white papers;
that never get anything done. 

 The current Government rhetoric about being tough on crime ; is all well and good but being tough is not a deterrent,

nowhere in the world is there any evidence that supports the theory that harsher sentences reduce crime,
giving a bigger sentence for using, only deals with problem after the event;
what needs to happen is much early intervention and a deeper look at the
problems in society

It is no secret that crime and poverty are linked if you have more poverty you have more crime, if the environment that people live in is run down and uncared for, then you have more crime

There is also a link between crime, care, and school exclusions.  The current figures show that  you are  12 times more likely to end up in prison if you are excluded;  and in UK prisons it shows that around 63% of prisoners had some form of school exclusion

Today our organization unveiled a new policy plan to eliminate armed intimidation from politics by prohibiting guns at Capitol buildings and grounds, sensitive government facilities, polling and vote counting locations, and protests on public property.

We’re already working closely with our allies in state legislatures, and we saw a related bill passed in Michigan and similar bills introduced in Vermont, Washington, and Virginia. We expect more given the horror we’ve seen on our TV screens.

The chaos and violence that took place at the Capitol last week was horrifying, but not surprising. @MomsDemand volunteers have been confronted by these armed insurrectionists in our communities ever since I started Moms Demand Action in 2012.

At rallies and marches, inside restaurants and grocery stores, and even in statehouses and at gun bill hearings, our volunteers have gone toe-to-toe with gun extremists seeking to intimidate and silence them.


In Virginia, armed men with rifles strapped to their backs have stood in the back of small hearing rooms inside the General Assembly, while our volunteers are in chairs in front of them, facing forward. They say it feels like the men could open fire on their backs at any moment.

I had the most bizarre experience outside of a bar yesterday, which my partner very aptly described as "toxic mask-unlinity." (A Thread.)

I was standing outside, waiting for a lyft to get home, when two cis men came out of the bar to smoke cigarettes. They're discussing the masks that folks are wearing in California at the moment because of the very dangerous air pollution from the fires happening.

I happen to be wearing one of those masks, because I think lungs are important and I like breathing. I dunno. One of the men notices me standing there, and says, "Like this f*cker right here. What is this shit?"

He goes on a homophobic rant about me, the pansy with a mask, and what a Very Manly Man he is because he's not afraid to smoke a pack of cigarettes while California is on fire. He doesn't need a mask, because something-something-heterosexual-something.

And part of me is just... impressed by the fact that this dude thinks he's Owning The Gay Libs by not wearing a mask to protect his lungs from smoke and particles in the air that are literally DANGEROUS... while chain-smoking. Outside of a bar.
