So this was a two-pronged attack. Donald installed his douchebag friends at the pentagon in exchange for a Medal of Freedom for Nunes, then hired former Blackwater dickbags to lead the coup while getting his Pentagon buddies to refuse to send backup... 9/
All while leaving Pence in the wind and allowing "group 2" (Blackwater) more time to access members of congress and destroy, steal, or taint the election certificates because his ally in the Pentagon wouldn't respond to calls for backup. 10/
All in exchange for the Blackwater pardons & a Nunes Medal of Freedom. Now trump has been forced to put out his "concession" video, Cruz is backing away, & republicans are "choosing sides" knowing that the coordination between the pentagon and trump is about to come out. 11/
Don't forget that Pence was chosen by Manafort and Hawley was chosen by Pence. And now Pence's COS has been banned from the White House. Also, Barr jumped ship and Biden said the Pentagon and OMB were stonewalling the transition. 12/
Oh, and trump aslo pardoned four Blackwater war criminals that slaughtered 17 Iraqi civilians including two children. He PARDONED them. Quid pro quo. Everything is a deal. 13/

THREAD: My thoughts on the decision not to call witnesses. Please correct me if I'm wrong. This take is based on what I think I know, and there's much I don't know, but I do not understand why the dems didn't depose Rep. Beutler. Let's talk about the objections: 1/

First, many are saying it would drag this thing out and prevent Biden's agenda from moving forward. I don't see how that's possible. The senate had the votes to depose Rep. Beutler. We saw that with the 55-45 vote to allow witnesses. GOP can't filibuster that 2/

It would have taken probably a week to depose her and introduce her testimony into the senate record. The senate is scheduled to be in recess this week. The only thing a deposition of Beutler would have done is stopped the senate's vacation. 3/

Since everything would have been done in roughly a week, and the senate was scheduled for a week-long vacation, the deposition of Beutler wouldn't have delayed any of Biden's agenda. 4/

Next, many are saying Mitch threatened to filibuster Biden's agenda. That's also an empty threat. Cabinet confirmations require only a simple majority vote, and the Covid relief package is going through the budget reconciliation process so it's not subject to filibuster 5/

BREAKING: THREAD: this is BIG news. A grand jury in DC has issued subpoenas to people with direct ties to donald. Let me break it down for you. For a year, we’ve been waiting to hear whether the DoJ probe into 1/6 would go beyond the “boots on the ground” attack at the Capitol 1/

And though Merrick Garland and Lisa Monaco said on multiple occasions that they will go after everyone at any level and wouldn’t shy away from politically charged probes, none of us had heard a peep about what they were doing (because thems the rules) 2/

Many argued that IF the DoJ was investigating, that we would have heard from witnesses that were called to testify. The counter argument to that was they just hadn’t gotten to the recalcitrant witnesses yet. 3/

We DID hear from one witness a few months back that told the press they were subpoenaed in an investigation into the funding of Sidney Powell’s PACS on the back of the big lie. But that didn’t necessarily tie to donald directly. 4/

And others argued that even though Garland said he’d look at everyone at any level, he didn’t directly say he was investigating BEYOND the day of the Capitol attack. WELL NOW WE HAVE WHAT WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR 5/

New from me: Prosecutors have charged an alleged Colorado militia member, Robert Gieswein, which The Daily Beast has been tracking since he appeared in photos of the riot at the Capitol.

The FBI says Gieswein "appears to be affiliated with the radical militia group known as the Three Percenters." Working with @jsrailton, we found similar evidence. Here's a picture of Gieswein from his now-deleted Facebook page posing in front of CO Rep Lauren Boebert's bar


Gieswein, kneeling with the rifle. is flashing the Three Percenter hand signs in front of Beobert's bar in this picture from November 2019.

One of the ways we were able to identify Gieswein was from the distinctive "Woodland Wild Dogs" patch he wore on his chest. If you check website registrations, you can find that Gieswein registered websites for the group as well as "Rocky Mountain Oathkeepers"


And to tie it in further, Gieswein also put the Woodland Wild Dogs logo on his FB page.

My hometown is Alamogordo, New Mexico. It's a military town. Holloman Air Force base is nearby, and so is the Army's White Sands Missile Range. It's also a hotbed of White Evangelical Christian Nationalism. 2/

Currently, the most notorious Christian Nationalist from Alamogordo that I can think of is Couy Griffin (no relation to me). He's a former pastor, turned County Commissioner, and founder of the group "Cowboys for Trump." I've talked about him before.


Couy Griffin and his Cowboys for Trump attended the the Coup Klux Klan in D.C. I'm not surprised. They went prepared for extremism. Here's a quick video of them outside the kitschy "Running Indian" trading post just outside Alamogordo. 4/


Notice what they say. "Give me liberty or give me death" and "We've god God on our side, and we've got the Truth on our side." Probably every Ex-evangelical I know has heard those words in church. 5/

Why is this the most powerful question you can ask when attempting to reach an agreement with another human being or organization?

2/ First, “X” could be lots of things. Examples: What would need to be true for you to

- “Feel it's in our best interest for me to be CMO"
- “Feel that we’re in a good place as a company”
- “Feel that we’re on the same page”
- “Feel that we both got what we wanted from this deal

3/ Normally, we aren’t that direct. Example from startup/VC land:

Founders leave VC meetings thinking that every VC will invest, but they rarely do.

Worse over, the founders don’t know what they need to do in order to be fundable.

4/ So why should you ask the magic Q?

To get clarity.

You want to know where you stand, and what it takes to get what you want in a way that also gets them what they want.

It also holds them (mentally) accountable once the thing they need becomes true.

5/ Staying in the context of soliciting investors, the question is “what would need to be true for you to want to invest (or partner with us on this journey, etc)?”

Multiple responses to this question are likely to deliver a positive result.
