Sharp's father, Eric Sharp, Baron Sharp of Grimsdyke, held senior positions at "Monsanto" and Cable & Wireless, meaning young Richard spent part of his childhood in America."
Goldman was criticized, in the aftermath of the financial crisis of 2008, some alleged that it misled investors & profited from the collapse of the mortgage market. "one of the darkest chapters" in Goldman's history according to The New York Times.
