Historical Gurdwaras of Hazor Sahib

1. Gurdwara Nagina Ghat ⠀
A rich merchant’s expensive nagina (precious stone set in gold) was thrown by Guru Gobind Singh Ji into Godavri River. The merchant thought Guru Ji did not know the value of the nagina. Mahraj read his thought and

asked him to take out the nagina if it was so valuable. It is said that when he entered the river he was surprised to see the river bed full of precious stones. Purged of his false pride, he fell at Guru Ji’s feet. It was also from this place that Mahraj shot an arrow revealing
their Tap Asthan (meditation place) of Satyug, Sachkand Shri Hazor Sahib.⠀

2. Takht Sri Sachkand Abchalnagar Hazor Sahib. One of the 5 Takhts of Sikhs. Despite being the site where Kalgidhar Patshah Ji left their physical body from, their presence is felt strongly here.
3. Bunga Mai Bhago Ji
In compound of Takht Sri Hazor Sahib Ji, this Bunga is built in memory of Mai Bhago Ji. Housing weapons believed to be of Mai Bhago Ji and 40 Mukte. The two Angitha Sahib of Pyare Bhai Daya Singh ji and Pyare Bhai Dharam Singh Ji are also situated here.
4. Gurdwara Hira Ghat⠀
When Guru Gobind Singh Ji first came to Nanded from Punjab, they pitched their tents right here on the back of Godavri River. It was also here where it’s believed that emperor Bahadur Shah presented Guruji a hira (diamond) which they flung into the
river and when the offended emperor looked into the river, he say heaps of diamonds. He was deeply impressed and bowed to Guruji with humility.⠀
5. Gurdwara Mata Sahib Devan Ji Mata Ji’s Tap Asthan (meditation spot) since Satyug is situated here. Guruji used to come here daily from Hira Ghat to have langgar prepared by Mataji. Mata Ji is said to have asked Guru Ji who will visit her Gurdwara as it is quite hidden and
Mahraj said my Sikhs will because without visiting your asthan, their Hazor Sahib yatra would not be safli (complete). One should definitely try to spend some time to meditate here in Mata Ji’s Bhora Sahib.
6. Gurdwara Shikar Ghat⠀
Once Guru Gobind Singh Ji came here following a chase (shikar) and killed a rabbit which in a former birth had been Bhai Mula, a contemporary Sikh of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Once when Guru Nanak Dev Ji wanted to see him, he avoided Guruji after being
brainwashed by his wife. He hid himself fearing Guru Ji might take him on a long journey. Guru Ji went away, Mula soon died by a snakebite. His repentent soul had since been wandering in different incarnations until Kalgidhar Patshah Ji liberated it by the touch of their arrow.
7. Gurdwara Maaltekri
A blind Muslim saint had a deep longing to meet Guru Nanak Dev Ji Mahraj since a long time. Guru Nanak reached his place on one of their journeys. The pir fell at the feet of Guru Ji. Guru Ji embraced him with affection and blessed him.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji is believed to have told Lakad Shah Faqir, that a large amount of money is kept buried at this place which shall be later required by their successor. So they must look after the place until the arrival of a successor who will need use of the money.
8. Gurdwara Sanggat Sahib
When Guru Ji decided to reside in Nanded, soldiers in their army requested for salary so that they can return back to Punjab. Guruji ordered Bhai Daya Singh and Bhai Dharam Singh to bring out the treasure underground at a place called Mal Tekri from
times of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. They went, dug the treasure and brought here back on bullock carts. The treasure was distributed to the army generously, not in counted numbers but in shieldfuls. The shield they used to distribute the treasure can be seen here.
9. Gurdwara Banda Ghat
Gurdwara commemorating historical meeting of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Banda Singh Bahadur
10. Gurudwara Nanaksar Sahib
Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Mahraj stopped over here en-route to Bidar. There’s a Ber tree here where Guru Ji sat in devotion for nine days and nine hours.
At this place, Bhai Mardana Ji requested for water and Guru Ji asked them to play Rabab and a spring of cold sweet water appeared. A leper requested to Guru Ji to cure his leprosy here. Guru Ji made him bath under this spring and drink the water which cured him.
Guru Ji then blessed this spring to be a holy sarovar where whoever has no child or is suffering from any disease, his hope and desire will be fulfilled.
11. Gurdwara Nanak Puri and Gurdwara Chandan Sahib
This gurdwaras are next to each other and marks the place Guru Nanak Dev Ji met and had discourse with followers of Goraknath here while teaching them about Akaal Purakh.

The site where a Sikh was blessed with the darshan of Kalgidhar Patshah after their Joti Jot saying “Do not worry, I will always be with you.”The Khalsa were advised to stay in Chardi Kala, continue Kirtan and Jap of Satnam.
13. Gurdwara Sri Damdama Sahib

The beauty and peace of this place where there was a bagh (garden) compelled Guru Sahib to stay here for 8 day when they arrived from Punjab before going to Hazor Sahib area. A Thada Sahib was dug at the site and a Barsha was found.
14. Gurdwara Langgar Sahib

In 1912 when Sant Baba Nidhan Singh Ji was sitting on the platform of Nanded Railway Station and was waiting for the train to Punjab, they were immersed in Simran. At that moment, Guru Gobind Singh Ji Mahraj gave him Darshan and stopped him from
going to Punjab and ordered him to go back to his ancient langar place and start the service of langar there. At that time there were very less devotees who use to come to Nanded due to the non existence of traveling medium. At that time there was a deep forest where there is
Gurudwara Langar Sahib today. Hence Baba Nidhan Singh Ji urged to Guru Ji, "Sachhe Patshah! from where will I bring the money to run langar service?" Guru Ji blessed Baba Ji, "Khisa Mera Hath Tera." Baba Ji obeyed Guru Ji's order and came to this place.
With great patience and trust he started the langar service here. It was just due to his hard work and the blessings of Guru Ji that the langar started at that time is running 24 hours today.

Here’s a thread of some of the stuff referenced in the podcast for those interested

First of all, what even is cuneiform?

It’s a writing system from the ancient Middle East, used to write several languages like Sumerian and Akkadian. Cuneiform signs can stand for whole words or syllables. Here’s a little primer of its evolution
https://t.co/7CVjLCHwkS

What kinds of texts was cuneiform used to write?

Initially, accounting records and lists.

Eventually, literature, astronomy, medicine, maps, architectural plans, omens, letters, contracts, law collections, and more.

Texts from the Library of Ashurbanipal, who ruled the ancient Assyrian empire when it was at its largest in the 7th century BCE, represent many of the genres of cuneiform texts and scholarship.

Here’s a short intro to the library via @opencuneiform https://t.co/wjnaxpMRrC

The Library of Ashurbanipal has a complicated modern and ancient history, which you can read about in this brilliant (and open access) book by Prof @Eleanor_Robson
