You want to know why Germans liked the Indigenous people so much? My family were Habsburgs married with the lines of Membertou. Charles V was the king of Germany. We had trade with Europe since 1550's at least.

 Our Mi'kmaw baskets were in Antwerp in use along with hockey sticks and snow shoes. We had voyage along the path of cod because it prevented scurvy. Our dwellings were of Denmark. Our Walnut trees too. The history is with me brother.

The Lavvu shelter is of the Sami people. The same look as Mi'kmaw shelter. We shared textiles and goods and many things, even spices because we were internationally connected by trade for centuries. We had the whole world in our area because the jet streams & cod.
The Habsburgs are the Royal line of the Holy Roman Empire. The lines run through the mothers. It always did in our kin. Canada targeted First Nations women with blood quantum and with rapes, trafficking with welfare, jails, making us wards with military etc. I lived it.
Canada's rape stastics are woeful. They are the same in the UK, Australia and the US as well. Colonialism attacked using sex to extinguish us by design.
I know my history. My parents were born as slaves in Canada, their parents were paid in tokens. I know. My grandfather Laurent Lanteigne, the husband of Philomene Landry ran the company store. The Jersey fishing company owner owned us. His wife's cousin was his Mi'kmaw wife.

Canada is just a shell company for British Empire. To restore justice we could simply go to the UN and state the case. The English Crown had no jurisdiction to take the lands. It violated rules of war, Treaty of Utrecht, Queen Anne's edict, King George etc. We were kin.
Habsburgs formed nation via marriages. That was the way if you wanted to be in the Order of Christ economic system. It's not hard to understand why so many Europeans were fascinated with Indians. Some over there actually were our kin. We didn't live isolated in a bubble.
The deportation moved us all around the world. My kin fled and remained on the lands, other's didn't but this act links to genocides and deportations from Acadia to Standing Rock with Amherst and down to Haiti and Falkland Islands etc. It was massive and lasted for years.
Nation is about policy not race. It didn't become a blood thing until after the English came. Black Acadians existed. Black Mi'kmaw existed. Mixed people were part many First Nationhoods. Nationhood is policy and family and laws that applied. Honor factual history. Honor all.
All four of my grandparents goes back to this tree. We have that info and I can name the European ones much further back. We were systemically hidden, repressed, silenced and kept as slaves but we kept our history regardless.

My family always measured wealth with what is given not by what is taken. What is given is in acts of compassion, service, duty for community. That is wealth. What these man exemplify to me is not wealth at all. They are poor. They behave poorly.

53 organizations representing over 2 million people, we call on the Government of Canada to immediately order EDC to align its business with Canada’s climate commitments. Coastal Gaslink Pipeline mentioned.

In Canada the pattern repeated with multiple pipelines. After approvals they flip the ownership of pipes with asset sales to negate contractual obligations re: terms of approval, insurance, liability etc. This happened to TransMountain, Coastal Gas Link, Enbridge Line 10 etc.

My email to the Prime Minister from Feb. 2020. I am still waiting for the answers.


Canada Energy Regulator (CER) is formerly the National Energy Board. I asked for proof of the insurance of Enbridge's pipelines. The CER Chair sent me data based on assets owned in 2016 most of which has been sold off since. The website give in the response held that info.

The public supports less policing and prisons but Harper invested in social discord.

Policing, Prison and construction were linked under the Harper Government.

Richard Bird was VP of Enbridge and he also served as a member of the Canada's Federal Minister of Finance's Advisory Committee on Financing and currently serves as chairman of the board of directors of the Alberta Investment Management

Richard Bird, a former VP of Enbridge is linked to Ecopatrol, missing money and a massive sex scandal in Colombia and Prison Schemes with bid rigging, corruption and collusion.

These are the boats my grandfathers built by hand. There was no room for by catch. If a cod or haddock were out of season we threw it back. We had to. We worked for Jersey Fishing who paid us in tokens. We were slaves to them. The tokens were used for company store.


My grandfather Laurent ran the store that ran on credit. He didn't know numbers. We were forbidden reading and writing. He scrawled debt on the wall of the storage room to keep track. Paper and books forbidden to us by Canada's soldiers who raided our homes and business.


This report confirms our line to King Clovis. We all remembered who we were and Canada's efforts to extinguish us continue to this day.

His wife Philomene Landry had a cousin who was wife to the Jersey Company owner. The rich men married Indigenous women to evade Provincial tax and marry in. She was Mi'kmaw. In my line all my grandparents were of the same families for generations.

Today is the 130th anniversary of the #WoundedKneeMassacre. On December 29, 1890, the 7th Cavalry surrounded a peaceful encampment of Lakota with Hotchkiss guns and slaughtered ~300. They were mostly women and children.


Those killed at Wounded Knee were led by Mniconjou Chief Spotted Elk, who was ill. Many were followers of Hunkpapa Chief Sitting Bull who was assassinated 14 days prior. They were invited to seek refuge with Oglala Chief Red Cloud at Pine Ridge. They were hungry, tired & cold.

The soldiers weren’t satisfied with gunning down the encampment. They chased down those who escaped, including little children & their grandmothers, for miles. Some ran all the way back to the Cheyenne River Reservation, through the night in the freezing cold, with bullet wounds.

Charles Eastman, the 1st western educated Oceti Sakowin (Dakota Sioux) physician, was at Pine Ridge during the #WoundedKneeMassacre. It was right after Christmas. A banner hanging over the wounded said, ‘Peace on Earth.’ The horrors Dr. Eastman saw that day changed him forever.


Those massacred at Wounded Knee were callously thrown into a mass grave. Soldiers proudly posed for photos with their corpses. They were awarded Medals of Honor for their part in the slaughter. Those Medals have never been rescinded, despite public outcry.

So. I loved #TheDig. Despite being set in the 30's it evoked a lot of my early fieldwork experience in the 80's and some of the things archaeologists were gushing about are still pay of the experience today. And it also evoked the fantasy that I became an archaeologist to chase>

Because, being aware of that fantasy, I'm also aware of corrosive elements, things that structure how archaeology works, both practically & in the collective imagination which work against that other fantasy, that my work can 'make a difference' contribute to progressive change>

The primary driver of the story is class & it's connection to skill & to land. EP has the right to the land, the choice to dig, the ownership of the artefacts because she is the landowner. We are meant to cheer along when the coroner decides in her favour>

BB is a man of the land, he literally knows the soil of Suffolk by feel. His skill & sense are central to the story. And they are credited with the discovery, which is the most important part of the process, not the analysis, care or interpretation>

Remembering Colonel Anil Kaul, VrC (Retd) on his 3rd Death Anniversary.

“It was October 12, 1987, exactly 5:55 pm as I was… coming out of the cupola of my T-72 tank on a steamy evening in an unknown place called Kokkuvil in the Jaffna district of Northern Sri Lanka.+


I froze in that confined space at what I saw. An LTTE militant stood at 60 meters aiming his rocket-propelled gun at my tank.

In a flash he fired. Probably having lost his nerve he aimed too low. The projectile hit the left mudguard of the tank, but for some inexplicable reason+


did not explode. It then hit the side of the main gun and then exploded on top of the turret, all in a fraction of a second. Before I knew, it seemed I had received a straight right punch so to say to my chin. I saw some blood appear on my left hand and there was a sharp drop in+

my eyesight.

Lt Colonel (now Lt Gen) Dalbir Singh, then Commanding Officer of 10 Para Commando, who was standing on the engine deck said to me, “Yaar what a close shave.”

He suddenly saw me and the look on his face told me that something was very very wrong with me. In that+

fraction of a second, as if it was a rewind of my entire life, thoughts raced through my life as to how and when I had landed myself in such a situation…

The Panch Kedar Mandirs are amongst the most divine pilgrimage sites for followers of Sanatan Dharm. Apart from being Bhagwan Shiv`s abodes, they bear a strong connection to our history. Let`s explore their origins. #Thread


As per legend, the Panch Kedar Mandir relate directly to the Mahabharat and are an important part of our history. At the time of Mahabharat after the Kurukshetra Yudh, the Pandavs committed the sin of “Gotra Hatya” and “Brahmanahatya” by killing the Kauravs and Guru Droṇacarya.


Wanting to repent, Pandavs handed over the control of their kingdom to their kin and left in search of Bhagwan Shiv to ask for his forgiveness. Initially the Pandavs went to Kashi in search of Bhagwan Shiv but couldn`t find him there.


Bhagwan Shiv was furious at the deceit, death and destruction taking place during the Kurukshetra war. He was indifferent to the Pandavs prayers and took the form of a powerful bull and hid in the Gharwal Himalayas.


As Pandavs did not find Bhagwan Shiv in Kashi, after wandering for a bit they went to Gharwal Himalayas. The second eldest Pandav Bhim spotted a large bull grazing near GuptKashi in Kedar Kantha.

#BlackHistoryMonth In the Navy, I was fortunate to serve at Commander Cruiser Destroyer Group 2(CCDG2). I reported to duty in 1981 as Radioman Seaman Apprentice(RMSA), and served through 1985 in the communications division achieving the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class(RM2/SW) /1


This was my first duty assignment. But my first is not important as the first African-American who served as CCDG2's Commanding Officer prior to my arrival, Rear Admiral Samuel L. Gravely, Jr. He was a trailblazer. He was commissioned an Ensign on November 14, 1944. /2


He enlisted and then became one of the first commissioned African-American officers in the US Navy. He was denied housing and even jailed for impersonating an officer. He withstood a cavalcade of abuse and racism and still managed to rise through the ranks of the Navy. /3


He became the first to serve under combat conditions during WW2. He served during the Korean & Vietnam War. He was the first to command a fighting vessel, and commander of the 3rd fleet. He served as Communications officer on the USS IOWA BB-61 /4


He served as the first African-American to command (USS Theodore E. Chandler (DD 717)); command a major warship (USS Jouett (DLG 29)) - and was the first African-American to achieve the rank of Captain in 1967. /5

PETER PADUKAM - THE LEGEND OF MADURAI MEENAKSHI TEMPLE AND A BRITISH COLLECTOR.

A British Collector named Rous Peter was appointed as Collector of Madurai from 1812 to 1828.

Though a Christian by faith, he respected all faiths including Hinduism and also honored local practice


Collector Peter was the temple administrator of the Meenakshi Amman Temple and conducted all his duties with sincerity and honesty and respected the religious sentiments of all people.

Collector Rous Peter respected and treated people of all faiths equally and this noble trait

earned him the popular nickname ‘Peter Pandian'

Goddess Meenakshi Amman Temple was situated between Collector Peter's residence and office.

Everyday he used to go to the office by his horse and while crossing the temple, he got down from his horse, removed the hat and his shoes

and crossed the whole path on his foot.

Through this small gesture he expressed his reverence to the Goddess!

One day there was a heavy downpour in Madurai city and River Vaigai was in spate.

Collector was sleeping in his residence and was suddenly disturbed and woken up by

the sound of anklets and he left his bed to find out from where the sound had came.

He saw a small girl wearing pattuvastrams (silk garments) and precious ornaments and addressing him as 'Peter come this way'.

Many readers have asked me "why do so many pulp covers feature women in ripped red blouses standing in swamps while a man fights off an unusual animal attack?"

The answer is artist Will Hulsey...


Will Hulsey was the undisputed king of the animal attack pulp cover. You name it, he'd paint it attacking you in a pool of stagnant water.


Very little is known about Will Hulsey, but he worked on a number of men's pulp magazines in the 1950s and early 1960s including Man's Life, True Men, Guilty, Trapped and Peril.


Their audience was ex-GIs: during WWII the US Council of Books in Wartime had given away over 122 million books to American servicemen to read; this led to a post-war surge in paperback and magazine sales amongst these newly enthusiastic readers.


As a result the 1950s saw a raft of men's pulp magazines being published to tap into this market - almost 200 different titles!

Some tweets on Adi Shankaracharya and in particular the Guru Parampara of @sringerimath. [I had done this series earlier 5 years ago on account of Shishya Sweekaram].


Adi Shankara established the Sringeri Peetham as the 1st of 4 amnaaya peetams.

The four being
1. Sarada Peetam at Sringeri.
2. Govardhana Peetam at Puri
3. Kalika at Dwaraka
4. Jyothir at Badarikashramam.

He installed his 4 most prominent shishyas as heads of the peetams.

Sureshwaracharya was assigned to Sringeri as its head.

Sringeri is a corruption of Rshyashrunga giri.

Rshyashrunga maharshi [and his father Sri Vibandhaka Maharshi] did their tapas at this place.

It is at Sringeri that Shankara spent 12 of His precious 32 years!!

That gives you and idea how much He loved this place.

Rshyashruga maharshi had a horn on his forehead, a result of being born to a deer. His mere presence was enough to shower rains!!

Rshyashrunga was one who led Putrakamesthi Yaagam of Dasaratha Maharaj and which resulted in Sri Rama's birth!!
