 Do you know why Lord Krishna told Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna ... not just to help him in the Mahabharata war but he imparted it for the people of upcoming yuga i.e Kali Yuga coz he knew the challenges that lay ahead.

With the end of the Mahabharat war Dwapara Yuga ended too.

Krishna knew the eventuality. He knew Gandhari’s curse on him would come into effect soon. (She cursed him with the destruction of his clan for his refusal to disclose the truth of Karna’s ancestry to Suyodhana and prevent the Mahabharat war)

So he said to Kali Yuga "You can’t enter until I am alive" so the cunning Kali made a deal with Lord Krishna and said, "I will wait but you have to promise me that you won’t interfere in my yuga". Krishna agreed.

Kali said, "You won’t come like Rama/Krishna 2 restore Dharma coz in Kaliyuga thr won’t be Asura nor another Praani but the fight will b amongst humans n the real fight will b within every1, coz good n evil will reside in all. I'll to cause mayhem thru deception n confusion" 5/n
Lord Krishna accepts the deal coz he knew surely that he had already imparted the needed knowledge via Bhagavad Gita. Soon Krishna left Dwarka and went to the jungle one last time. 6/n #SnanaYatra
Here a Tribal huntsman shoots the arrow accidentally on his feet and he dies. Before dying he forgives the repentant Tribesman. 7/n #Puri
No one in Dwaraka knew that Krishna's soul left his body. The following day Arjuna came to Dwaraka to meet Krishna. Aghast that none knew Krishna's whereabouts but guided by his own intuition Arjuna makes way to the forest and finds Krishna’s body. 8/n
Arjuna spots the body and performs his funeral rites and leaves to Indraprastha with Krishna's widows and children. And the next day some tribal men come and find some remnants of Krishna's ashes.

Bcoz Gandhari had cursed Lord Krishna "When you die there will be no one from your family close to you." So you see the whole body of Lord Krishna burnt to ashes but something was still smoldering like hot coal .. 10/n

He went to the sea-shore and found the glowing substance heart of Sri Krishna. He further got instructions in his dream that Prabhu asked him to find an old carpenter to make his murti and the Raja got the carpenter. 13/n
The carpenter was none other than reincarnated Vishwakarma. He came as an old man and looking at Sri Krishna’s heart said this can only stay inside a wooden statue. The Raja wanted to make a grand stone statue but the microreactor would blast inside it.

So he again gets the reply in a dream from Sri Krishna to kindly comply with the Carpenter. Lord Vishwakarma started making Lord Jagannath Statue in a closed room and he said "Never ever open the door of this hall .. I will open it only when I am done." 15/n
The work kept on progressing and he was making the statue of Lord Jagannath inside the closed room. Even after 6 months there was no sign of him. One day the queen out of uncontainable curiosity thought the old carpenter must be dead and opened the doors of the room. 16/n
And he stopped the work which was only 25% completed. At that moment Vishwakarma abandoned the murti’s as it is .. The King of Puri was extremely upset. That’s why Lord Jagannath statue is strangely incomplete. With no complete hands nor legs just big eyes looking at us. 17/n
The King was extremely upset and prayed and sought apologies for his queen's mistake. Lord Krishna said, "This was meant to be coz in Kali Yuga I am just an observer and I will stay as Jagannath in Puri. I will see everything with my eyes but I wont get involved at all." 18/n
"That’s why as a symbol my hands and legs are not complete and every human has to use their own judgement to work and fight for Dharma (moral righteousness) or Adharma (injustice in all forms)."

Thus this 9th Avatar of Lord Vishnu is Jagannath.

And he explained that he chose to stay in a wooden statue coz its for all humans to know that the body is mortal and it will die but the soul will always be immortal so perform your deeds courageously. So that your soul will carry it in memory to the next birth. 20/n

Devi Meenakshi emerged from yagna fire as a 3 year old girl when Pandyan King Malayadwaja and Kanchanamalai were praying for a child.
It is said that Devi was born with three breasts and there was a prophesy that her superfluous breast would melt away when she met her husband.


Devi ruled over Madurai and captured Indralok. She went on to capture Kailasha. When she saw Shiva, her 3rd breast disappeared and she realised that Shiva would be her consort.
The divine marriage was attended by all Devas and Sri Vishnu (as her brother) gave her hand to Shiva.


It is said that Indra found a swayambhu lingam at Kadamba Vanam. He placed it in Madurai where the kshetram stands. Here, Shiva is seen on the vehicle of Indra.
The Golden Lotus Tank is said to be the place where a golden lotus blossomed for the puja performed by Indra.


The Meenakshi Thirukalyanam festival is celebrated in the Chithirai month to mark the divine marriage of Meenakshi Amman. The festival includes a procession where Meenakshi and Sundareshwara travel in a chariot and Sri Vishnu gives away his sister in marriage to Shiva.

I REALLY HAVE A ?? this mornin

Anyways, Woke up this mornin with so much energy(glory to God), at a time, I was considering walking from ABEOKUTA- Ibadan just to show that my frenemy, Pst. @Abel2goupOla that I was fitter.. 😂


Anyways, I set out early praying in tongues, which is my usual practice, but, midway, I decided to listen to one of the audio messages on my phone. The lot fell on Pst. E.A. Adeboye's message, titled, "THE CREATIVE POWER OF GOD'S WORD"

His Word can CREATE, CALL FORTH, CANCEL,

OBTAIN etc. It can serve in every capacity and can do all things, even d imagined stuffs can b brought to manifestation.

Making time to study His Word is really underrated. Many today just glance thru & rush off. This will not help. We must make time in d midst of no time.

Now, indulge me to ask you these simple questions.

In 1937, a trucker got frustrated waiting for his cargo to be unloaded. He later sold his company for $1.1 billion.

Here’s the story of how Malcom McLean made a billion dollars and which startup could be following in his footsteps. (Inspired by our episode with @laurabehrenswu)


In the early 1950s, the shipping industry was a dying business.

New York’s docks were handling half as much domestic cargo in the early 1950s as they had been in the depressed 1930s.

In thirty years, no one had invested significant money in coastal shipping.

Why?

As McLean found out, loading ships was difficult and slow.

A truck or train would deliver items to the port. Each item was unloaded separately, recorded, and carried to storage.

When a ship was ready, each item was taken from storage, counted again, and hauled on-board.


The cost of this labor was significant. As one expert at the time explained:

“A four-thousand-mile voyage for a shipment might consume 50 percent of its costs in covering just the two ten-mile movements through two ports.”


Yet, despite the industry’s issues, it felt little pressure to change.

Foreigners were barred from operating domestically. Cartels ran international routes. And gov. subsidies eased the pain of labor costs.

Reshaping the industry needed an outsider.

This post is pretty bizarre, but it manages to hit on so many false beliefs that I've seen hurt junior data scientists that it deserves some explicit

(1) The notion that R is well-suited to "building web applications" seems totally out of left field. I don't feel like most R loyalists think this is a good idea, but it's worth calling out that no normal company will be glad you wrote your entire web app in R.

(2) It is true that Python had some issues historically with the 2-to-3 transition, but it's not such a big deal these days. On the flip side, I have found interesting R code that doesn't run in modern R interpreters because of changes in core operations (e.g. assignment syntax).

(3) "Most of the time we only need a latest, working interpreter with the latest packages to run the code" -- this is where things get real and reveal some things that hurt data scientists. If this sentence is true, it's likely because you don't share code with coworkers.

(3) Really is a broader issue in data science: people only think of what they need to do their work if no one else existed and code was never maintained. Junior data scientists almost always operate on projects they start from scratch and don't have to maintain for long.

1/ Productivity tip: when I keep procrastinating on something I often trick myself by saying, "ok just work on it for the next 20 minutes" or some short period of time, "and then you can chill/relax guilt free" and give myself some treat (sugar, netflix, etc)

2/ Usually at the 20 minute mark (sometimes I set a timer) I'm so engrossed in what I'm doing that I don't want want to stop and end up working on it for the next hour or two. But getting started seems to be the hardest part.

3/ Key to this: you have to actually be ok with stopping after 20 minutes and being guilt free if that's how you feel. So it's not a trick, i have the option every time, I just often don't want to use it once i'm in the zone.
