Humanity; possibly the biological boot loader for digital superintelligence. - @elonmusk

This was a difficult book to get through and hard to absorb in a single read. But this book explains in detail how artificial superintelligence will eventually arise and what are the works that being done. It's also a fascinating walkthrough of what intelligence really is.

This year has been wild with so many things happening in a news cycle it's just really crazy and hard to keep track off. I mean think about it, from pandemic to trump to Islamist, to black lives matter and climate change and so many more things than I can fit into this tweet.

But if was to pick 1 thing that will have the most lasting impact on humanity into perpetuity would be that of developments in AI that has happened silently in the background without most people ever noticing it.

The most important of which is that of GPT3, a language learning model that has the capacity of 175 billion machine learning parameters, beating previous efforts by GPT2 (mid year) and also a model by Microsoft by 10x (February) all within this year. The growth is exponential.
Western governments need better mechanisms in place to be able to integrate refugees they help with. The world has a lot of displaced refugees who need genuine help. Bad actors are actively looking to exploit this as a vulnerability. Better screenings and integration is needed!

At this point what is glaringly obvious is that without proper integration into the social contracts of the host country, societies tend to get fragmented and tribes emerge.

As soon as this happens, separatists movements begin their work to dismantle the host country’s social contracts. While those separatists movements such as Islamists may just merely cause disruption and terror, they won't still be able to change those countries immediately.

But that change process would have already begun in a trajectory that has active selection pressures until contain will continue to optimize. But the immediate disruption and terror should be setting off alarm bells when you zoom out to see where those trajectories are heading.

We can already see this happening in many western countries with already past headway made in an increasing trajectory of encroachment onto the years of hard won social contracts of those countries.
Islamic language that dehumanizes unbelievers is where Islamic violence begins. Slurs like Kuffar (derogatory term for someone who doesn't believe Islam) and Najis (filth) are weaponzied language, designed to ”other” and get their base worked up. /1 https://t.co/rxu64kds14

It is very clear from their language they do not recognize the humanity of those that doesn't believe what they believe. This is not due to the individual, but rather because of Islamic teachings found in it's source materials.

And when they curse their imaginary God characters wrath on you, and condemn you to an imaginary hellfire in an none existent afterlife all within the mythological construct of Islam, it is only telling of what they would rather do to us if they had a choice. /3

And to expect these people will have any good faith against someone else who is suffering and demanding a respite from that suffering is foolish. They do not see humans and human rights in the same light as we do. /4

They only see their own self interest and the interest of Islamic teachings that seak to oppress and dominate everyone else. All sane and rational people must say no to this bullshit, if we are ever to overcome islam’s assault on humanity. /5
The solution to this problem is to figure out credible reasons to justify the number of indian military personnel, and the expenses of maintaining this relationship. Once you do that, reveal the details, and they lose leverage to push through this issue. /1

And that means owning up to why Indian military assistance is needed. This requires large national conversation about the threat of Islamic extremists in the Maldives, explain the dangers and the opportunity cost of an attack etc. /2

People will except we'll reasoned decision making. And the public already has a frame of reference to indian military assistance from November 3rd 1988. So none of this is new or a surprise. /3

What is being weaponised is this imagined spectre of loss of autonomy for the country by collaborating with indian military on national security issues. This is an easy problem to solve. /4

The solution is merely laying out how national autonomy is maintained in such a national security collaboration. It's not like the Maldives can defend itself from any foreign military invasion anyways. /5
