These fucking hacks.

Look, Biden's still Biden, but these fucksticks covered Trump's vast conflicts of interests for 0.5 seconds before just giving up when it became clear Trump simply didn't care about ethics.

Expect them to keep ringing this bell on Biden each week, however.

Biden having a foundation is pretty much the same as it was for Clinton, for Obama, for pretty much every President in living memory except maybe Jimmy Carter.

Yeah, these "foundations" and everything should be a point of concern. They're kind of weird.

But.

These political reporters suddenly flipping to covering Biden's "ethics quandaries" are also the ones who nodded off about the Trump Foundation, the hotels, the golf courses ...

Remember his taxes? That was maybe a week of coverage then forgotten.

Politico in particular can't be trusted to act in good faith when their editorial staff makes decisions like giving Ben Shapiro a platform and higher profile via their site.

They're going to spend the next four years watching for any cough or hiccup and calling it a plague.

Wouldn't it be lovely if we had a national press who were capable of reporting on ethics violations in an ethical manner, and not one determined to sensationalise every little thing as if it were the beginning of a massive scandal?

The National Association of Young People In Care was the first organisation run for and by YP in or ex care. We started in 1979 in Bradford and London (I was in the London Office). These policies were based on NAYPIC members views at the time.

1) Rules, punishments & discipline (excerpt only):

"Young People should have a say in how the home is run and what form of rues & punishment are alowed"

2) Forms of Control (excerpt):

"Young People should learn their responsibilities and self control by having a greater involvement in the running of their own home and in their own lives. Residential Care workers are indespensible in this".

You've probably noticed the set was under powered for the intended role, 0.2 Watts didn't really cut it.

The design also came under heavy criticism for unreliability as the key junction box and six point lead connector was known for a troubling propensity to break. /4

These were not pieces of kit used lightly, as you'd have to dodge, duck, dip, dive and... dodge, on a regular basis.

Salient differences between Paramparagat Gurus and corporate Gurus

1. Paramparagat Gurus represent vaidhika Sanatam darshanas and sampradaya and cite them authentically in their teachings

where as

Corporate Gurus sell hodge podge spiriruality with no anchoring in shastras

2. Paramparagat Gurus have a lineage of Gurus where they undergo tapas, adyayana and adyapana

Whereas

Corporate Gurus pop out of nowhere with self claimed enlightenment.

3. Paramparagat Gurus point to Shastras or Shastra pramana as Dharma marga. The focus is on what Shastra reveals. They even identify themselves as representative and adhikari of that parampara. Not on themselves
Where as

Corporate Gurus focus on themselves. Its THEIR teachings

4. Paramparagat Gurus are well versed in all darsanas and cater to the diverse needs and prefispositiins of sanatanis' learning and sadhana.

Where as

Corporate Gurus package one or two techniques in yoga, brand them and make a business out of it.

5) Paramparagat Gurus do NOT say - being spiritual is more important than being religious or all religions are same. They highlight the stark differences and clarify Sanatani identity.

Where as

Corporate Gurus do not even use the word "Hindu" often. Or where needed.

It is valuable when you can speak the truth.
Most people are not in the position to be as candid as they want to be.

When you talk about what you’ve gone through it is useful to people, especially when you talk in simple and plain-spoken terms.

It demystifies your 'greatness’, makes it more normal, and lets others relate.

Many people have to do things that are motivated by other people's perceptions of them motivated by the pressure that is extorted by people that are very close around them i.e. friends and family.

It leads to an inevitable moment when people start questioning their happiness.

Younger generations are more honest to themselves.

They are willing to be happy in the way they defined it to themselves.

Older generations were just checking the boxes.
Many people realize that it is not the pattern to maximize their fulfillment.

Inflation measures how much more expensive a basket of goods and services has become over a certain period, usually a year.

Looking at the US and Europe the numbers don’t look too bad.

But wait there is more ;)

Over the past decades the government changed the way how to measure inflation several times to give you the expression there is nothing to worry about.

4/ If we calculate inflation the same way as in the 80ies or 90ies, it is at least double the amount!

5/ But there is more....

A thread of career advice that Black women won’t want to hear but need to hear.

1) Shed the defeatist, woe-is-me-imma-Black-woman-in-corporate attitude.

Yes, it can be hard being a Black woman in corporate America. But relegating all your career failures to being a Black woman is doing many of *us* a disservice.

2) Determine what *success* actually looks like to you — chances are, it’s not to be a VP with a corner office managing a team of 10.

For me, success looks like financial freedom, work/life balance, a "fun" job with travel, and peace. Figure what your triggers are.

3) Stop taking career advice from people who haven't had thriving careers.

I purposely share resume editing, salary negotiation, and interviewing tips because that's like Level 0 of a thriving career. Getting a new job is also NOT a signal of a thriving career.

Some components of a thriving career =
1) Focused on relevant, impactful, and measurable (RIM) work
2) Buy-in within your organization
3) Strong network
4) Actively recruited by competitive companies

A career coach should be coaching you on how to achieve the above.

A lot of indie developers make videos about indie game development -- but are the people who watch videos about indie game development the most likely customers for indie games?
Perhaps not.

Some #indiedev even go all-in on making YouTube videos and become entertainers that earn money primarily from entertaining rather than selling games.

My general quick take is:

- An artist (painter, writer, sculptor, or even indie game developers) needs an audience - fans of their work.
- Any way one can develop and nurture an audience is better than having no audience.

- Delivering value (entertainment, education, etc.) to that audience keeps them coming back.

- An audience might not help the artist directly. As I pointed out, fellow developers might find devlogs and programming tutorials interesting -- but they might not be a good fit as customers for the actual product being created.
