Why is Anish Kapoor so perturbed?

The crux of the matter : his mother was an Iraqi - Jewish daughter of a rabbi who immigrated from Baghdad to India with her family when she was an infant.

He was one of the signatories to banning Narendra Modi from Britain.

On BBC Newsnight on 16 May 2014 Kapoor said Modi was a man with “blood on his hands”.And again hes back in the news bashing Modi on his UK visit and bashing Hindus as the Hindu Taliban.

🌅History of surgery in Ayurveda.
In Sushruta Samhita written by Sushruta(~600 BCE),detailed explanations of surgical instruments, different types of incisions, different suturing and bandaging techniques, fracture
reductions, techniques of foreign body

extraction and surgical management of obstructed labour are found. The original textbook written by Sushruta was later redacted by Nagarjuna(400-500 CE) and was amended by Chandrata thereafter(10th century CE).Banaras happened to be the place where
Sushruta practiced surgery.

He described the extracapsular
surgical technique of cataract extraction using a sharply pointed
instrument. This is one of the earliest documented surgical
approaches to treat cataract. Sushruta’s technique of reconstruction surgery was in use among Vaidyas even during the

Colonial rule.
A case report of a Vaidya using forehead flap to reconstruct the nose was published as a letter to the editor in the Gentleman’s Magazine in 1794. This in fact made western world aware of this technique.

A thread about Bhagawan Vishnu's Lotus.

Bhagawan Vishnu holds the lotus in his bottom left hand. It represents spiritual liberation, divine perfection, purity and the unfolding of Spiritual consciousness within the individual.

This Lotus is considered as the 6 transcendental powers, namely :-

1. Jnana - Spiritual knowledge
2. Shakthi - Power
3. Bala - Strength
4. Aishvarya - Wealth
5. Virya - Potency
6. Tejas - Splendour

Bhagawan Vishnu is often called as Padmanabhaswami. It means the person who owns(Swami) a navel(nabhi) which upholds a lotus(padm). From this Nabhi's lotus, Bhagawan Brahma was born. In Tamil, we used to call it as நாபிக்கமலம்( Nabhikkamalam).

The lotus is a symbol of creation. The energy which emanates from Vishnu’s navel, that is from the PARA mode of speech is depicted as a lotus.

What is Para?

Para is referred to as OMKAR or ADIBIJA( The Primal Seed). Para is the ultimate stage of the seeker practicing chanting.

This energy of creation is not derived from Vishnu alone but from the union of Vishnu and Lakshmi.

..ताकि उस समय हम जीवन-मरण से जुड़े सभी सत्य जान सकें और मृत्यु के कारण बिछडने वाले सदस्य का दुख कम हो सके।
गरुड़ पुराण में विष्णु की भक्ति व अवतारों का विस्तार से उसी प्रकार वर्णन मिलता है जिस प्रकार भगवत पुराण में।आरम्भ में मनु से सृष्टि की उत्पत्ति,ध्रुव चरित्र की कथा मिलती है।

शास्त्रों में स्वच्छता के सूत्र

हमारे पूर्वज अत्यंत दूरदर्शी थे। उन्होंने हजारों वर्षों पूर्व वेदों व पुराणों में महामारी की रोकथाम के लिए परिपूर्ण स्वच्छता रखने के लिए स्पष्ट निर्देश दे कर रखें हैं-

1. लवणं व्यञ्जनं चैव घृतं तैलं तथैव च ।
लेह्यं पेयं च विविधं हस्तदत्तं न भक्षयेत् ।।
- धर्मसिन्धू ३पू. आह्निक

✍️नामक, घी, तेल, चावल, एवं अन्य खाद्य पदार्थ चम्मच से परोसना चाहिए हाथों से नही।

2. अनातुरः स्वानि खानि न स्पृशेदनिमित्ततः ।।
- मनुस्मृति ४/१४४

✍️अपने शरीर के अंगों जैसे आँख, नाक, कान आदि को बिना किसी कारण के छूना नही चाहिए।

3. अपमृज्यान्न च स्न्नातो गात्राण्यम्बरपाणिभिः ।।

✍️एक बार पहने हुए वस्त्र धोने के बाद ही पहनना चाहिए। स्नान के बाद अपने शरीर को शीघ्र सुखाना चाहिए।

श्राप और वरदान का रहस्य क्या है ?

हम पौराणिक कथाओं में प्रायः यह पढ़ते-सुनते आये हैं कि अमुक ऋषि ने अमुक साधक को वरदान दिया या अमुक असुर को श्राप दिया।

जन साधारण को या आजके तथाकथित प्रगतिवादी दृष्टिकोण वाले लोगों को सहसा विश्वास नहीं होता कि इन पौराणिक प्रसंगों में कोई सच्चाई भी हो सकती है।

यदि विचारपूर्वक देखा जाय तो हम पाएंगे कि श्राप केवल मनुष्यों का ही नहीं होता,

जीव-जंतु यहाँ तक कि वृक्षों का भी श्राप देखने को मिलता है। वृक्षों पर आत्माओं के साथ-साथ यक्षदेवों का भी वास होता है।

स्वस्थ हरा-भरा वृक्ष काटना महान पाप कहा गया है। प्राचीन काल से तत्वदृष्टाओं ने वृक्ष काटना या निरपराध पशु-पक्षियों, जीव-जंतुओं को मारना पाप कहा गया है।

इसके पीछे शायद यही कारण है। उनकी ऊर्जा घनीभूत होकर व्यक्तियों का समूल नाश कर देती है।

चाहे नज़र दोष हो या श्राप या अन्य कोई दोष--इन सबमें ऊर्जा की ही महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका है।

किसी भी श्राप या आशीर्वाद में संकल्प शक्ति होती है और उसका प्रभाव नेत्र द्वारा, वचन द्वारा और मानसिक प्रक्षेपण द्वारा होता है।

Only one trial of this was published out of seven when tested against a 'placebo'. Obviously the trial published found it to be effective and the remaining six trials remained unpublished.

What were these unpublished trials like?

The same antidepressant was tested against serotonin reuptake inhibitors. It was proved in this trial that the particular antidepressant was not only less effective but also had worse adverse effects.

I'm just citing one such example from the book.

The second major point raised in this book is about how pharmaceutical companies market their products, how they intrude into medical syllabus/education, how they influence the doctors and regulators in supporting their medicines, etc.
