Music can certainly transform destinies, it has certainly given myself and my family a chance of a better life. I have never forgotten my roots, nor the deep gratitude to all who participated in nurturing me over the years. Here is a true story ⤵️

I am allocated B Bay, in which there are five patients. My patients are mostly men, ranging from their early 30s to their 60s. This is younger than normal on HDU because — as I explained to the man — we only have beds for people with a fighting chance.

Let's remember that L. Lin Wood - according to a lawsuit filed by three attorneys who worked with/for him - allegedly called them to his house at 1 a.m. in the midst of a personal crisis, they sat with him to make sure he was okay, and tthe next day he fired them all via email.

Let's also recall that, shortly thereafter, according to the same Complaint, it is alleged he held a 3.5 hour phone call wherein he - again according to the Complaint - verbally berated these attorneys nonstop.

Then proceeded, the attorneys who worked with him allege, to send multiple abusive email messages to them with unhinged ramblings about Almighty God guiding him.

Note: Literally ANY email that includes the words "you are the ones who are crazy, not me" is immediately suspect.

Sidenote: Voicemails that insist an action seems crazy but really isn't and makes completely sense are, in my general experience with domestic abuse cases, red flags.

For people marching in DC in the Name of Christ - give this up. Go home and love your neighbor, serve your city, and build up your brothers and sisters in your church. Your theocratic visions cannot be met by a US President of any party. I'm glad you're praying, but...

You've so equated the Kingdom of God with a particular vision of America, the Gospel's power with a political party, and the purpose of God with one man, that you've reduced the word Evangelical to a cul-de-sac of political power plays. What tragic impoverishment. Please stop.

Yes, protest marches are often good & needed, as are huge gatherings in DC of citizens from across the country to show leaders the issues we think matter. That's perfectly good and right. But refrain from violence, hatred, and undermining the Gospel's progress in our world.

Why talking to your people is the most important thing you can do!

For a new acquisition, there's a general template I follow for the 1st 100 days.

The Number One point on that list is PEOPLE

I have failed this once, and succeeded once, let me share why this is most important.

1. You are in spreadsheet mode

When working on a new acquisition you are in the numbers and in the models.

Net working capital true-up
First 6 mo cash flow
Valuation multiple
Realizable EBITDA
etc

Many new acquirers don't come out of this, and lose customers, employees, and $$

2. Verifying the Model

Post acquisition, you are verifying the model in realtime, adjusting, making sure you are good with the bank, investors, yourself.

You are checking actual expenses to see if they match.

Perhaps you are implementing a few easy cost cuts.

People!

3. Your people hold the answers.

Often the people that have been there, can will be happy to give you the scoop on

1. customers
2. service improvement ideas
3. Plant issues
4. under / over staffing
5. needs & investments

They have been there, and usually not been able to share

4. Small Window

There is a small window of time where they are:

1. looking to see if they will now have input
2. willing to speak up more boldly than normal
3. Evaluating how they feel about you
4. Earning (or losing) respect for you as an owner

4] Another critical feature of African politics, is that parties are just as popular as their Leader(s), especially the inaugural one(s).

The party grows as the Leader becomes more popular.

Most times, the Leader fortunately or unfortunately becomes more popular than the party.

5] ZanuPF was just as popular as Mugabe

MDC-T was just as popular as Tsvangirai

MDC ALLIANCE is just as popular as Chamisa.

Whoever takes over usually struggles.

A super dieend quick de-reading of Naomi Klein's (?) book entitled Lo Nogo in n episodes. First things first. "It was twenty years ago tonight". We, me and us never read it. Why? Because there is a premise in there as we and I know it - knew it beforehand. No incorporation

"rules". Conditions rule. And one can change these not as rules but as structural dynamics so to say. A "no logo please!" is behind Klein's theories. Give us a general commodity without being commodity it says. Let's be clean it says. Anticorp is dead now. It's ever been dead.

Clear communication is so important in times of national crisis. With no articulation of the goals and challenges, there is wavering trust in our leaders to lead us through this long dark period of Canadian history.

This is true for all levels of health care administration.

With the Covid pandemic, physicians and nurses locally rallied to the cause. We enjoined with our leaders on this great and patriotic national enterprise to keep our patients and our communities safe.
