The Param Vir Chakra was designed Savitri Khanolkar,who was a Swiss national and whose real name was Eve Yvonne Maday de Maros. In 1929,she met Vikram Khanolkar,a young Indian Army cadet who had come to Switzerland for a break.

She was still a teenager then, however, both fell in love. Although Vikram was much older than her but she still came to India in 1932 and married Vikram in Lucknow.
She changed her name to Savitri Bai after marriage.

In spite of her European background she quickly adapted to Hindu tradition.She became a vegetarian,learnt to speak fluent Marathi,Hindi & Sanskrit.Also learnt Indian music,dance& painting.She called herself an European with an Indian soul and never liked being called a foreigner.

She had a deep interest in Hindu Puranas, which she read extensively, and also studied India's ancient history and its legends. It was due to this that Major Hira Lal Atal, the first Indian Adjutant General of independent India, asked her help in designing the Param Vir Chakra.

1 गोत्र .
गोत्र का अर्थ है कि हम कौन से ऋषिकुल से है या हमारा जन्म किस ऋषिकुल से सम्बन्धित है । किसी व्यक्ति की वंश-परम्परा जहां से प्रारम्भ होती है, उस वंश का गोत्र भी वहीं से प्रचलित होता गया है, जो जिस ऋषि से प्रारम्भ होता है वहीं उसका गोत्र है।

विश्वामित्र, जमदग्नि, भारद्वाज, गौतम, अत्रि, वशिष्ठ, कश्यप- इन सप्तऋषियों और आठवें ऋषि अगस्त्य की संतान गोत्र कहलाती है।
इस तरह आठ ऋषियों की वंश-परम्परा में जितने ऋषि आ गए वे सभी गोत्र कहलाते हैं। और आजकल जितने गोत्र मिलते हैं वह उन्हीं के अन्तर्गत है।

सिर्फ भृगु, अंगिरा के वंशवाले ही उनके सिवाय और हैं जिन ऋषियों के नाम से भी गोत्र व्यवहार होता है।
इस प्रकार कुल दस ऋषि मूल में है। इस प्रकार देखा जाता है कि इन दसों के वंशज ऋषि लाखों हो गए होंगे और उतने ही गोत्र भी होने चाहिए।

अपनी कुल परम्परा के पूर्वजों एवं महान ऋषियों को प्रवर कहते हें ।
अपने कर्मो द्वारा ऋषिकुल में प्राप्‍त की गई श्रेष्‍ठता के अनुसार उन गोत्र प्रवर्तक मूल ऋषि के बाद होने वाले व्यक्ति, जो महान हो गए वे उस गोत्र के प्रवर कहलाते है।

A study performed by California State University found that individuals that visited any social media site at least 58 times per week were 3 times more likely to feel socially isolated and depressed compared to those who used social media fewer than 9 times per week.

How does SM affect our brain?

According to a new study by Harvard University, self-disclosure on social networking sites lights up the same part of the brain that also ignites when taking an addictive substance.

The reward area in the brain and its chemical messenger pathways affect decisions & sensations. 

When someone experiences something rewarding or uses an addictive substance, neurons in the principal dopamine-producing areas in the brain are activated & dopamine levels rise.

Therefore, the brain receives a “reward” and associates the drug or activity with positive reinforcement.

This is observable in SM usage; when an individual gets a notification, such as a like or mention, the brain receives a rush of dopamine & sends it along reward pathways,

महर्षि अगस्त्य एक वैदिक कालीन महान ऋषि थे। उनका जन्म काशी में जिस जगह हुआ था, उसे आज अगस्त्य कुंड के नाम से जाना जाता है।
महर्षि अगस्त्य का विवाह विदर्भ देश की राजकुमारी लोपमुद्रा से हुआ था जो एक पतिव्रता, वीर और बुद्धिमान स्त्री थी।

ऋग्वेद के कई मंत्रो की रचना महर्षि अगस्त्य ने की है तथा ऋग्वेद के प्रथम मण्डल के 165 सूक्त से 191 तक के सूक्तो को बताया है। महर्षि अगस्त्य ने तपस्या काल में मंत्रो की शक्ति को देखा था। इसलिए इन्हे मन्त्रदृष्टा ऋषि भी कहा जाता है।

भारत देश में महर्षि अगस्त्य के कई आश्रम है। उत्तराखंड के अगस्त्यमुनि नामक शहर में मुनि का प्राचीन आश्रम है।

यहाँ पर अगस्त्य ऋषि तपस्या करते थे। यही वह स्थान है जहाँ पर मुनि ने दो राक्षसों आतापी और वातापी का वध करके उनको यमपूरी पहुँचाया था।

आज यहाँ पर एक प्रसिद्ध मंदिर है और आसपास के गाँव में मुनि को इष्टदेव मानकर पूजा की जाती है।

महर्षि का एक आश्रम तमिलनाडु में भी है और ऐसी मान्यता है की अगस्त्य मुनि का शिष्य विंध्याचल पर्वत था जो अपनी ऊंचाई पर बहुत घमंड करता था...

...और एक दिन कौतुहलवश उसने अपनी ऊंचाई इतनी बड़ा दी की धरती पर सूर्य की किरणे आना बंद हो गयी तथा धरती पर हाहकार मच गया

तब सभी जन अगस्त्य ऋषि के पास गए और उनसे अपने शिष्य को समझाने की विनती करने लगे तब मुनि अगस्त्य ने विंध्याचल पर्वत से कहा मुझे दक्षिण की तरफ जाना है, इसलिए..

In 1949,when Nehru ordered to remove the Idol of Bhagwan Ram from Ram Janmbhoomi,it was an ICS officer named KK Nair who firmly refused & spearheaded the Ram Janmbhoomi movement

After centuries of wait,Hindus reclaimed Ram Janmbhoomi site on the night of Dec 22,1949

Hindus installed the idols of Hindu deities including Sri Ram under the main dome of the Mosque that was built after demolishing the original Ram Mandir at Ramkot by a Mughal invader named Babur in 1528.
Despite the site being protected by Police, Hindus emerged successful.

On the next morning ie Dec 23, hundreds of hindus gathered in front of the site to have a glimpse of the Moorti.
As soon as Jawaharlal Nehru came to know about the developments in Ayodhya, he immediately asked the CM of UP to get the idols removed.

The chief secretary of UP and IG of police ordered the DM KK Nair who was posted at Faizabad and Ayodhya fell in his jurisdiction. KK Nair, however refused to remove the idols.
He served in UP in various capacities since 1930. The way he dealt with the issue and his stand...

...of not removing the Idols from Ram Janmbhoomi, made him a hero. The divisional commissioner supported Nair's view and they both proposed to keep the Ram Janmbhoomi site under strict Police control. They allowed a Pujari to perform the Pooja of the Deities.

Straddles Vs Strangles – A Thread
There have been some really interesting discussion points recently based on Euan Sinclair’s assessment of RR in straddles vs strangles. Personally, I’ve always felt far more comfortable trading strangles. (1/n)

Straddles have the highest theta value and benefits more than strangles when there is a vol crush. Over time, straddles should have a net P/L greater than strangles. This, albeit, comes at the cost of a lower PoP and higher risk. (2/n)

Early in the expiry, rate of decay of OTM>ATM options. ATM options are in the middle of the bell curve and bulk of decay happens in the later stages. However, a 20% vol crush in a straddle may result in P/L greater than 100% of a 16 Delta strangle credit. Hence, (3/n)

Strangles are a vol+decay play, straddles are a far superior pure vol play. If one’s thesis is an exaggerated stock reaction, excessive implied volatility and lower Rvol going forward, it makes much more sense to narrow short strikes. You get paid more for the same PoP (4/n)

Straddles also make more sense to deploy in very small priced underlyings, where the straddle break-evens are very close to that of strangles. Might as well collect the higher credit. (5/n)
