1/#VeFam, I see a lot of heated discussions regarding $VTHO and it’s speculative value. I thought I’d write a thread to clear out some misconceptions.

First up, VTHO is NOT yield from an investment ( $VET).The whole argument that VET has to give xx% returns via VTHO is pointless

 2/Why? Because VTHO is a utility token required for network participation. While it is good that we ordinary holders can trade it, its primary purpose is to enable entities to use the network. VTHO is not a dividend, it is not yield, it’s simply a network participation enabler
3/is it undervalued? depends on if you’re talking about value arising from utility or speculation. Regarding the former, as long as the daily burn rate is lower than daily generation rate (~37m), value appreciation from utility is not a factor. But this will change.
4/regarding the latter,it’s anyone’s guess. It can go 1000x overnight,like anything in crypto.But remember,this is not a good thing for an enterprise focused utility token
Why?
Bcoz value appreciation from utility is organic. @vechainofficial and their customers can plan for this
5/value appreciation from speculation is not organic. It can disrupt budgets and planning. This is the reason there are several levers in place to cushion the speculation around VTHO. Read this article to understand what they are:

6/These levers can (and will) also be used to cushion the effect of utility driven value appreciation of VTHO on the cost of Tx. But again, this will be organic, and will not have a sudden, drastic effect on the price.

So will VTHO appreciate in price?
Of course.
7/ like any other crypto, it can appreciate through a mix of utility and speculation. However, unlike most crypto projects, the appreciation can, will and should be controlled to cushion its effect on enterprises using the chain and writing Tx to it
8/where does that leave VET? It’s quite simple. The more the network is used, the more organic demand there is for VTHO. And the only way new VTHO is generated is from VET. This builds the utility case for VET price appreciation.
9/As for speculation, there are no levers in place to curb VET price appreciation through speculation.

That’s it. It’s that simple!

What is pyramiding?

In pyramiding we add on to a position when it is going in our direction. Its basically opposite of averaging down.

MOMENTUM - Success of a pyramiding trade depend on this ingredient, the more the momentum the better pyramiding.


There are many way to enter and exit in a stock-

1. ALL IN - ALL OUT
2. ALL IN - SCALE OUT
3. SCALE IN - SCALE OUT
4. SCALE IN - ALL OUT ( I use this one)

Why traders use Pyramiding ?

More than anything what pyramiding do is keep your losers small and your winners - Big.

Pyramiding in my view keeps your dd smaller as your losers are very small because you enters with only a fraction of what you would have entered Normally.

BUT, not necessarily it should be more profitable than ALL IN- ALL OUT, Where one enters all at once and sell all at once.

HOW TO DO PYRAMIDING-

There are various methods which are used by traders for pyramiding ,while keeping the basic concept of adding onto the strength.

1. PYRAMIDING AND TRAILING BASED UPON STRUCTURE-

In this method we scale in or pyramid the qty when the stock breaks above

The calculation of this indicator is a bit complex, but the concept is extremely useful. I will try to simplify it and explain the logic. I will briefly explain the concept, calculation and reading.

Let us think about creating an indicator that shows the trend.

Using the indicator, we can identify & ride the trend using the trailing stop-loss method.

For trailing the stop in uptrend, indicator needs to be placed below the candle. Similarly, it should be placed above the candle for trailing in a downtrend. We will plot it using ‘dots’.


So, the indicator & stop-loss will be rising in uptrend & falling in downtrend.

Let us define the trend as:

If Low of the candle > Stop-loss level in bull market = Trend remains bullish.

If High of the candle < Stop-loss level in bear market = Trend is bearish

Imagine you are driving a car on highway; you would like to accelerate if the road is clear. You will slow down if the road is bumpy.

Let's start by doing some basic technical analysis.

• Weekly charts.

1. Weekly-

• The market has given 4 continuous green closes, so not expecting a big momentum on upside.

• This week my view is that it can take a pause.

• Longer term trend is super bullish.

• Any dip will towards 41800 will be a retest, and should be used to go long.


2. Daily:

• Candlestick pattern—Hanging Man

• Chart Pattern—Breakout Failure

• A pin bar candle is very powerful but only after a downmove.

• Here it forms near the top of upmove.

• Means some sellers are present. Below 43000 can sell calls above 43600 for the week.

A thread on HN about bad code in legacy projects both makes me think how little we've learned as a discipline over the years and, honestly, how little credit we give ourselves for some pretty major

Fun going down this list and thinking: "Hmm, plausible at a well-run modern software shop", "Hmm, possible, but requires implausible tradeoffs", "Literally disallowed by languages", and "If you were to attempt doing that our test suite wouldn't let you merge."

I think we as an industry celebrate (not quite the right word) failure too much and don't celebrate success nearly enough. There is no DailyWTF for competent execution, word of which generally stays pretty local to the source while incompetence passes into legend.

Alrighty let me try to thread the needle on being the change I want to see in the world while not giving away anything that will get me in trouble:

Ruby has wonderful developer ergonomics. Typed languages are easier for machines to guarantee the correctness of. We built a type checker for Ruby (and I believe it is slated for OSS release sometime).
