THREAD: Today, I submitted a resolution to investigate and expel Rep. Maddock for violating his duty to support the MI and US Constitutions.

One week ago, thousands went to our Nation’s Capitol because of perpetual lies and distrust lobbed at our institutions. 1/

These lies were spread by those elected to uphold our Constitution. This led to an unprecedented insurrection and acts of sedition. Our Temple of Democracy was desecrated in ways we could’ve never imagined.

These events were not random. 2/

They were coordinated and fanned by months of lies by the President, Senators, members of Congress, and other elected officials. They amplified lies about the 2020 elections, which was the very way they were elected into office. 3/

Among those who attended the events last week was Rep. Matt Maddock, who has spent months sowing lies and distrust, which culminated in the attack on our Republic. He must be held accountable.

His actions raises questions on whether or not he violated the Constitution. 4/

I believe in unity. But we cannot cannot unite as a nation until we hold those who seek to divide us accountable.

The American Idea was attacked last week. If we allow insurrection against the US to happen with impunity and w/ no accountability, it can & will happen again. 5/
Rep. Maddock pretended to be an Elector, claims election fraud, sent a letter to VP Pence, organized a trip to DC the day of the Insurrection, signed on to the Texas lawsuit, and more.

He is endangering our Republic. He should be expelled from the House. 6/
Because I believe in our Constitution, I think he should have a right to due process. The Speaker must establish a select committee to investigate Rep. Maddock’s unpatriotic, dangerous, and potentially criminal behavior.

Hold him accountable. Otherwise, this will continue. 7/
14th Amendment, Section 3:

“No Person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, ... or as **a member of any State legislature** ... shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”
My colleague @darrincamilleri introduced a resolution to censure Rep. Maddock. This should be done immediately to send a message to all that we will not tolerate those who try to undermine our democracy.

We must also investigate his actions for expulsion.

More from Government

The Government is making the same mistakes as it did in the first wave. Except with knowledge.

A thread.

The Government's strategy at the beginning of the pandemic was to 'cocoon' the vulnerable (e.g. those in care homes). This was a 'herd immunity' strategy. This interview is from

This strategy failed. It is impossible to 'cocoon' the vulnerable, as Covid is passed from younger people to older, more vulnerable people.

We can see this playing out through heatmaps. e.g. these heatmaps from the second

The Government then decided to change its strategy to 'preventing a second wave that overwhelms the NHS'. This was announced on 8 June in Parliament.

This is not the same as 'preventing a second wave'.
