The law firm is under the commission of Ms Chong Ting Yan and appoints lawyer to issue you this letter about the matters of terminating the exclusive contract between Ms Chong and your company as per followings:
According to Ms Chong ‘s statement and provided materials, it is shown that Ms Chong signed the exclusive contract with your company in Feb 2016. It was stated that your company would be the exclusive agency to manage Ms Chong’s entertainment activities. After the contract
was signed, Ms Chong’s joined the girl idol group CLC, actively fulfilled the responsibilities according to contract, obeyed your company’s arrangements and devoted herself in trainings for acting skills. However, Ms Chong claimed your company violated multiple terms & conditions
when fulfilling the contract, mainly as per below

1. During the contract period, all Ms Chong’s entertainment incomes were collected by your company first. However, your company has never revealed the actual details of the incomes to Ms Chong.
2. Since signing the contract, Ms Chong actively fulfilled her contract obligations and attended different entertainment schedules arranged by your company. However, apart from paying for the copyright income to Ms Chong, your company did not pay Ms Chong her acting income
according to article 6.4 on the contract

This means Elkie was never paid for her role in The Rich Son 😱
3. Due to your company’s management and structural changes, your company clearly informed CLC members that you would no longer support CLC’s group development in Feb 2020. Since then, your company also did not provide reasonable planning for Ms Chong’s entertainment business’
position and development path with due diligence. Your company used actual actions to show that you would no longer fulfil the contract.
Based on above situation, your company’s actions are already equal to violation of the contract and actually limiting Ms Chong’s development in the entertainment business.
To conclude to above, I (the lawyer) accepted Ms Chong’s commission and issued this letter on her behalf
1. From the day your company received this letter, the exclusive contract is terminated between your company and Ms Chong.
2. Within 15 days of your company receiving this
letter, please return by letter of Ms Chong’s income details during the contract period and contact to conduct the settlement.
3. If you company refuse to follow as per letter’s content, my side will use all legal means to protect our rights.
This letter is make public by the lawyer himself/ herself with all the correct formatting and necessary contact information, so it’s highly unlikely to be a fake letter.

I also looked up the law firm. It is a legit law firm, not fake or small. It’s a well-established law firm which has worked with some famous Chinese companies and local governments.

So let's explore what a hypothetical law enforcement interview *might* look like in this situation. I'm not - I want to make clear - drawing from experience as a lawyer here.

My father in law is a now-retired homicide cop, and we've had a lot of discussions (especially since I started law school) about criminals and interviews over the years.

I’ve asked Byers to clarify, but as I read this tweet, it seems that Bret Stephens included an unredacted use of the n-word in his column this week to make a point, and the column got spiked—maybe as a result?

For context: In 2019, a Times reporter was reprimanded for several incidents of racial insensitivity on a trip with high school students, including one in which he used the n-word in a discussion of racial slurs.

That incident became public late last month, and late last week, after 150 Times employees complained about how it had been handled, the reporter in question resigned.

In the course of all that, the Times' executive editor said that the paper does not "tolerate racist language regardless of intent.” This was the quote that Bret Stephens was pushing back against in his column. (Which, again, was deep-sixed by the paper.)

THREAD: On the full-fledged process of responding to a Revise-And-Resubmit (R&R).

I have written pieces of the process, but I hadn't actually written a thread or a blog post showcasing how all my blog posts fit with one another. I teach this process when I give workshops.

So here's what I do (now), and let me share a lesson from my past lives:

DO NOT SIT ON R&Rs.

I know, they're painful and scary and sometimes we don't know if our paper will get rejected in the end.

But remember, an R&R means an OPPORTUNITY to get your paper published.

Sitting on R&Rs, leaving them for later, and not prioritizing them has gotten me fewer publications. I know this for a fact. I am not ashamed of admitting that I have sometimes felt that I will not be capable of responding to multiple (often conflicting) comments.

HOWEVER...

Sustained, frequent advice from professors who are senior to me (though I am senior myself now too) is always the same and on-point:

The goal is the R&R.

You're not getting a desk rejection.

You are getting your work read, reviewed carefully, thought about, responded to.

What do I do now (and have been doing for the past few years, with success)

When I get the R&R (the "decision letter"), I make sure to calm down, because I am always afraid I'm going to get nasty comments. These have been (luckily) very rarely present in my latest submissions.

4/ Per the NYT, on August 3, 2016, Donald Trump Jr. met secretly at Trump Tower with a Saudi and Emirati emissary, George Nader, as well as an Israeli intelligence expert, Joel Zamel, with *significant* ties to both Israeli intelligence *and* Russian oligarchs allied with Putin.

KANTESHA means Prabhu full of brightness.
Here, Sri Hanuman appears with a front face and sparkling eyes. Earlier, the village was also called KANTESHPURI on the name of Kantesha Hanuman.

Me : Well, innovation is a tricky word because we use it to describe many things. If you’re talking about differentiation with the adjacent unexplored then you’re experimenting in the “uncharted” space e.g. immortality with magic provided by the special custom built kettle.


X : That sounds like nonsense.
Me : A lot of what people think will be the next great innovation is nonsense. Actually, most of it is. That’s the nature of the uncharted space, it’s experimental, high risk and generally results in failure.
X : We need more reliable innovation.
