@brucewilson Disappointing to read people trashing Ron w/o knowing him. To each their own. Personally I think people have to be shown the extremists. People aren't going to read a lengthy article or researched study. Convenient date & time were left off Ron's considering it was hours before.


I'm referring to the right-wing style comments on the original post to be clear.
It's really no wonder this country is so divided when people who do leave the anti-democratic party are still not welcome. I hate all the intentionally injected drama on the left. Counterproductive.

Let me add though, Bruce you are one of my favorite people to follow, so hopefully this isn't taken as a personal shot at you, it's not meant that way. I respect your opinion, I just know Ron personally and I know he's not who all those comments are accusing him of being.

Polices that could make us safer, that could prevent massacres of children and people in public places are incredibly popular.

The problem isn't a lack of support.

The problem is that our leaders have failed us by lacking courage and

I wish I could say what happened in Uvalde is an unfathomable tragedy.

But it's not. It's completely predictable.

This disgusting state of affairs and these senseless tragedies could be prevented if our leaders had courage and were concerned about more than the economy.

We absolutely have to address gun culture in the United States.

We need to admit our white supremacist foundations have led to a state of paranoia, of firearm fetishism.

That is a massive part of the problem and requires a sea change of cultural proportions.

We must recognize that the GOP, with its radicalization, its dependency on fear, paranoia, and conspiracy theories has created an environment where guns and violence are a main part of their appeal.

This state we're living in isn't independent of that. At all.

And any conversation about gun violence or mass shootings has to involve the NRA, an institution that has done more harm to Americans and created more tragedy than nearly anyone else.

It is an absolute blight on the American body and its influence cannot be downplayed.

Quick thread on Bannon guilty verdict

Note. Bannon's trial was NOT about Jan 6th - he WILL face that trial too. This was about Bannon stupidly attempting to conceal his crimes

First. Understand.. we know the 2 dozen organizers, plotters, planners of January 6th. They will ALL go to prison, for at least a decade, most for Life. Including the few who get plea bargains in the Grand #Flippathon

But today Bannon's guilty conviction is a BONUS for us. He becomes literally the first of the January 6th ORGANIZERS to go to prison. And as a bonus, this is EXTRA time in prison Bannon serves, above and beyond his role in January 6th because of this attempt to conceal his crimes


Then consider what a catastrophic calamity this is for Bannon. He FEARS prison. He begged Trump for a pardon. He RECEIVED a pardon. And this he did AFTER his pardon, so his pardon does not shield Bannon from these new convictions, and prison time


Then look at Bannon's absurdly stupid destructive behavior during this trial. That is a public record. When his ACTUAL trial starts for January 6th, Bannon will have a history of defying the law - convicted twice - that is part of his record making his NEXT trial WORSE

A brief thread on Jovan Hutton Pulitzer, the crazy con man who is now claiming to have hacked into the Georgia voting machines in Fulton County. 90s kids and tech aficionados might remember Jovan as the inventor of the CueCat, the dumbest gadget of all time.

Also, for anyone who wants to claim that Jovan Hutton Pulitzer (not his given name, but one he changed legally after the CueCat debacle) invented QR Codes: he did not. Like that other right-wing crazy man who claimed to have invented email, Jovan didn’t invent QR Codes.

He did invent the CueCat, a product that somehow raised $185 million dollars for a tethered barcode scanner for magazines and newspapers, so you could get ads from your ads. As I said, the dumbest product of all time. Good backup barcode scanners after they were hacked, however

Oh, that’s another thing. When CueCat was a thing, its systems were hacked. I guess that’s what makes Jovan a security expert. His bankrupt company from 20 years ago was hacked and widely mocked. He’s a genius.

In recent years, Jovan pivoted to being a treasure hunter who was featured on and widely mocked on Curse of Oak Island, because the man is insane.

My dad led an organization of over 300,000 employees.

When I took on my biggest marketing & events team to date (35 employees) I asked him how the *heck* he did it. Here's what he said and what helped me every day. 🧵

Remember you're leading all the employees under you, but you're not *managing* them all. You're managing your direct reports, which should be 5-7 individuals max. Focus on them.

When you interact with the employees you don't manage directly, get to know them as people first, that'll be the most valuable information in leading them. Remembering everything you learn about them is hard, but doing so will make you a superhero.

If you're not going to empower the managers under you, why do you have them? If you see room for improvement, let the manager know and let them make the change on their teams and come to you with questions/concerns. This will save you SO much time.

If you're the smartest person in any room - you're doing it wrong. As a leader, your job is bringing together the best people to get the job done - your skillset is identifying those people, not being one of them.

1/ Recently, I learned about the concept of ‘struggle porn’. This refers to the fetish of sacrificing nearly everything (health, relationships, time) for your startup. I fear that this label is creating more harm than good.

3/ @alexisohanian also recently spoke about struggle porn, though referring to it as ‘hustle porn.’ (as the co-founder of @hustlefundvc, obviously I take issue with this pejorative definition of ‘hustle’, but that’s another topic)

4/ Struggling in itself isn’t necessarily bad. Let’s be real here--if you’re going to start a startup, you will struggle. Founders should expect to work harder generally than employees. You will be challenged in many ways and also be super rewarded in others. This is normal.

5/ However, if you are over-indexing on hard work without clear purpose and degrading your mental health/relationships in the process--then this is very bad and we obviously should not celebrate this behavior.
