1. Shahjahan was a cruel king. On becoming the king, Shahjahan imprisoned his step mother Nur Jahan. He sent brother Shahryar to the gallows. He had earlier got rid of brother Khusrau. Now he got Khusrau's sons Dawar and Garshasp executed.

Jahangir's brother Daniyal had died earlier. Shahjahan now killed Daniyal's sons Tahmuras and Hoshang ― all on 23 January 1628.

2. He loved only violence and sex. He has no artistic sensibilities. *He raped his own daughter Jahanara and justified it, saying that a gardener

must enjoy the fruit he produced.*

3. A ruffian by nature, Shahjahan refused to be tutored by the plethora of tutors appointed from time to time. His misdeeds of dacoity and arson throughout India, while in revolt against his emperor father Jehangir, made the latter record,

in sheer despair and anguish, that his son Shahjahan was a wretch and a scoundrel.

How dare any historian ignore the father's estimate of his own son and call the miscreant a noble lover of art and finer things.

3. There is no evidence of Shahjahan being deeply attached to

Mumtaz-ul-Zamani (so called Mumtaz Mahal) except few Bollywood films. Mumtaz-ul-Zamani was only one among Shah Jahan's various wifes and hundreds of sex slaves. To marry her he killed her husband. *She died giving birth to her 14th child. (She died in Burhanpur, 1000 kms away

There was an Asura, Kaumasura, who was doing penance to please Shiva and get a boon. To prevent him from asking for a boon, Devi Saraswati made him dumb (hence called Mookasur)
Later, Adi Parashakti slayed him and came to be called Mookambika.

It is said that Adi Shankaracharya had a vision in which Devi agreed to follow him provided he did not look back. He kept walking and was assured of her presence due to the sound of anklets. When he reached here in Kollur, he turned back as the sound of anklets had stopped.

So Devi stayed here and merged with the lingam. The place came to be called Mookambika Kshetram.
The linga has integrated on it’s left side MahaKali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswathi and on the right side- Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.

MAHARAANI TARARANI: THE QUEEN OF MARATHAS

Rani Tarabai was the brave daughter-in-law of Chhatrapati Shivaji and one of the greatest medieval Monarchs India ever had.
She was born in 1675 to one of the bravest commander-in-chiefs of Shivaji's Army named Hambir Rao Mohite.

Tarabai was just 8yrs old when she was married to Shivaji's younger son, Rajaram. Mughals and Marathas were constantly at war with each other. Shivaji was crowned the ruler of the Independent Maratha Swarajya in 1674 which was established by him.

However,the great leader died in 1680&the Maratha Samrajya went into a complete&total chaos.Marathas saw some very tough times ahead. In 1689,when Raigad Fort fell to the Mughal Army of over 15000,Shivaji's first wife Saibai and his elder son Sambhaji were captured&put to death.

Sambhaji's wife and son Shahu were taken prisoners to the Mughal court. During the same battle, Shivaji's second son Rajaram(Tarabai's husband) , who was the heir to the throne now, managed to escape using a disguise. He made his way to the Gingee Fort in Tamil Nadu.

Mughal General Zulfikar Khan, however, followed them to Gingee laying siege to the Gingee Fort. From 1690-1698,This was the longest siege by a Mughal Army of any Fort which stands testimony to the military and diplomatic credentials of Rani Tarabai.
