Speed Of Light In The ‘Rig Veda’

As per Modern Science the speed of light is 186,000 miles/second

Now read it carefully & get to know the Power of Vedic Science👇

Speed of light was known to Indians in Vedic period and was determined accurately in Rig Veda thousands of yrs ago

 It was further elaborated by Sayana ( An influential commentator on the Vedas) in the 14th century AD in his commentaries on Rig Veda.

Many years after that, The velocity of Light was calculated by Maxwell in the 19th century,
In Rig-Veda, there is a hymn which is incredibly close to the information about the speed of light.

तथा च स्मर्यते योजनानां सहस्त्रं द्वे द्वे शते द्वे च योजने एकेन निमिषार्धेन क्रममाण नमोऽस्तुते ।।
"tatha ca smaryate yojananam. sahasre dve dve sate dve ca yojane
ekena nimishardhena kramaman
Namostute."

This means “It is remembered here that Sun (light) traverses 2,202 yojanas in half a nimisha.”
**Nimisharda = half of a nimisha

**In the vedas 'Yojana' is a unit of - Distance and 'Nimisha' is a unit of - Time.

'Arthasastra' defines A Yojana as being equal to 8,000 dhanus, which is equivalent to 9.09 miles
Means 1 Yojana = 8000 Dhanus = 9,09 miles

1 nimisha = 0.2112 seconds (This is a recursive decimal. The wink of an eye is equal to 0.2112 seconds.)

1/2 nimisha = 0.1056 seconds

Thus 2,202 yojanas in half a nimisha is equal to 189,547 miles per second after conversion.
The modern estimate of the speed of light is 186,281.7 miles per second.

Now here comes the Maths Part,

**Unit of Vedic Time: Nimisha**

The Moksha Dharma Parva of Shanti Parva in Mahabharata describes Nimisha as follows:
1 nimisha = 0.2112 seconds (This is a recursive decimal. The wink of an eye is equal to 0.2112 seconds.)

1/2 nimisha = 0.1056 seconds

15 Nimisha = 1 Kastha
30 Kashta = 1 Kala
30.3 Kala = 1 Muhurta
30 Muhurtas = 1 Diva-Ratri (Day-Night)
We know Day-Night is 24 hours
So we get 24 hours = 30 x 30.3 x 30 x 15 nimisha
in other words 409050 nimisha

We know 1 hour = 60 x 60 = 3600 seconds

So 24 hours = 24 x 3600 seconds =
86,400

So 409,050 nimisha = 86,400 seconds
**Unit of Vedic 'Distance': Yojana**

Yojana is defined in Chapter 6 of Book 1 of the ancient vedic text “Vishnu Purana” as follows:

10 ParamAnus = 1 Parasúkshma
10 Parasúkshmas = 1 Trasarenu
10 Trasarenus = 1 Mahírajas (particle of dust)
10 Mahírajas= 1 Bálágra (hair’s point)
10 Bálágra = 1 Likhsha
10 Likhsha= 1 Yuka
10 Yukas = 1 Yavodara (heart of barley)
10 Yavodaras = 1 Yava (barley grain of middle size)
10 Yava = 1 Angula (1.89 cm or approx 3/4 inch)
6 fingers = 1 Pada (the breadth of it)
2 Padas = 1 Vitasti (span)
2 Vitasti = 1 Hasta (cubit)
4 Hastas = a Dhanu, a Danda, or pauruSa (a man’s height), or 2Nárikás = 6 feet

2,000 Dhanus = 1 Gavyuti (distance to which a cow’s call or lowing can be heard) = 12,000 feet

4 Gavyutis = 1 Yojana = 9.09 miles
**Now come to the final Part of Calculation of the 'Speed of Light' from the Rig Veda** :

So now we can calculate what is the value of the speed of light in modern units based on the value given as 2202 yojanas in 1/2 nimisha

= 2,202 x 9.09 miles per 0.1056 seconds
= 20,016.18 miles per 0.1056 seconds

= 189,547 miles per second

As per the Rig Veda the speed of light is 189,547 miles per second.

As per modern science the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second!

The term ‘Saptarishi’ or Saptarshi (Sanskrit सप्तर्षि) refers to the “seven sages” or ‘Seven Rishis’ of Sanatan Dharm

Due to their yogic powers and powers of penance, they are said to have attained semi immortal status, they have an extremely long life span.


The Saptarishis (seven sages) are the seven Mind Born sons (Manasa Putra) of Brahma – The creator of universe. They live for a period of time known as a Manvantara (age of a Manu )

Each manvantara lasts for 306,720,000 years (852,000 divine years)

1 divine year = 360 solar years
852000 x 360 = 306,720,000 years = 1 Manvantara
and repeats 71 Yuga Cycles (world ages)

Each kalpa has 14 manvantaras, at the end of each Kalp there is a period of destruction (प्रलय,Pralay) which is led by Bhagwan Shiva

and after that it lies in a state of rest called the 'Night of Brahma'. After that Brahma starts his cycle of creation all over again and the newly appointed Sapta Rishis are given to the earth
The Cycle of Creation and destruction works forever like this.

The Saptarshi of the Current Manvantara, according to “Brihadaranyaka Upanishad”, are 👇🏼

• Vashishta
• Kashyap
• Gautama
• Bharadwaja
• Vishwamitra
and Jamadagni.

The decedents of these seven sages are stated to be gotras.

Why Do We Chant ‘Shanti’ Three Times?

ॐ असतो मा सद्गमय ।
तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय ।
मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय ॥
ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥

(Meaning: Om, lead me from unreal (transitory material existence) to the real (Eternal Self),


From darkness (of ignorance) to light (of wisdom, truth, spiritual knowledge),
From the fear of death to the knowledge of immortality.
Om Peace, peace, peace!

If you attend any Hindu religious ritual, a Vedic prayer or a traditional Yoga class,

you will find that the Shanti mantra (the peace chant) is usually chanted at the end of the ceremony or the class.

(from Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.3.28)
As you will notice, the concluding line is the chanting of the word Shanti (peace) three times.

The question that sometimes gets asked is – why is shanti chanted three times? Is there a significance to it?

Here is a brief explanation as to why we chant shanti three times.

Our ancient scriptures tell us that one of the main objectives of life is to remove three kinds of

obstacles or to eliminate three kinds of suffering.

In the Samkhya Pravachana Sutram, the very first sutra states:

"अथ त्रिविधदुःखात्यन्त निवृत्तिः अत्यन्त पुरुषार्थः" (1.1)

“Permanent and complete elimination of the three-fold suffering is the supreme purpose of life".

Types of Shivling 🙏🏻🔱

Shivlings can be of various types, though broadly divided into 2 classes:

Chal lingas (movable ones); and Achal or Sthir lingas ( स्थिर, immovable ones, such as the ones in heavy stones


which we see in temple sanctums).

The Chal lingas - can be categorised into mrinmaya (made of earth), lohaja (metal made), ratnaja (made of precious stones), daruja (wooden ones), sailaja (stone made ones), and kshanika lingas

(made for some occasion and disposed off immediately afterwards).

The Achal lingas - also known as Sthir lingas or Dhruv lingas, and can be classified into ‘Four Types’: Daivika, Arsaka, Ganapa, and Manusa.

The Kamika Agama ( Granth) however classifies them into ‘Six Types’

Swambhu, Daivika, Arsaka, Ganapatya, Manusa, and Banalingas.

Besides the swambhu or the natural ones that have a special significance of their own,

the last two are the most important ones. Banalingas, like salagramas, are natural and found in particular

river beds, mainly fished out from the river Reva or Narmada.

Manusa are man-made lingas; comprising of three parts namely, Brahmabhaga (square lowest section), Vishnubhaga (octagonal middle part), and Rudrabhaga (topmost part, generally cylindrical);

The Energy Channels or Nadis
(Ida,Pingala & Sushumna)

The word ‘Nadi’ comes from the root ‘Nad’ in Sanskrit means ‘hollow stalk’.It refers to the network of channels through which the energies such as prana of the physical body,the subtle body & the causal body are said to flow.


Kundalini travels throughout our body by way of these three energy channels, or nadis. All three work perfectly together to integrate and balance the flow of our Kundalini.

Each also plays a specific role in maintaining our emotions, moods and physical health.

The three principal nadis that run from the base of the spine to the head are the ‘Ida’ on the Left, the ‘Sushumna’ on the Centre, and the ‘Pingala’ on the Right. Ultimately the goal is to unblock these nadis to bring liberation.

(1) Ida Nadi – Called the left channel, Ida is a Sanskrit word which means “comfort”. it starts in the Muladhara (root) chakra, flowing to the left and weaving in and out of the chakras before ending in the left nostril. This Nadi represents mental energy.


Ida Nadi is feminine energy with a cooling effect. It is introverted and is associated with the right side of the brain and the left side of the body. It is also called “Chandra” or “moon” Nadi since it is associated with lunar energy.Ida Nadi controls all of the mental processes

then exit previous sold straddle. Sell new one. Let’s say BN moved +200
Now sell 32200. If bank nifty will move here within range then u will get profit through theta decay. Follow same procedure for next 150-200 pts move.

This is only for single straddle sell position.

Now in second case sell three straddle. 31900/32000/32100
In case of 100 points move no need to change.
If 200 + then future is 32200.
Exit 31900 and sell 31200 straddle.
If moving another 100 then exit 32000 and sell 32300. Continue same with 100 points move.
If no move then

it will consolidate between 32000-32200 or 32100 to 32300 and u will get theta decay.

This is for normal move. Sudden big move may come anytime. So keep SL in system.
If u r selling at 350-350 then keep SL in system 475 for both legs.

When Saudi Arabia's King visited India in 1955, PM Nehru ordered all the Hindu Temples and Idols of Hindu Deities that came in Saudi King's way to be covered up.
Our temples are the architectural marvels in their own league.


Each of our temples tells the story of our rich history and cultural heritage. Was Nehru that ashamed of his own nation's heritage that he had to cover them up or there was some other reason? The answer would be best known to him only.

PM Nehru invited the then Saudi King Saud bin Abdul Aziz to India who accepted the invitation and planned a 17 day long official visit to India in 1955. Saudi King had brought a large delegation with him and he had to visit various Indian cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Agra,


Aligarh, Shimla, Mysore and Varanasi. However, when Saudi King reached Varanasi, Nehru ordered to cover all the temples and Idols with curtains that came in the way of the Royal Convoy. During his stay in Varanasi, Govt buildings were painted with the words "Kalma Tayyiba".


'Kalma Tayyiba' means 'There is not God but only Allah and Mohammed is his messenger'. In addition to it, Pooja and Aartis were also stopped at temples. I can call it the appeasement politics of the highest order and Nehru was indeed the greatest appeaser of all times.

This longest wall of India stretches to almost 36Km and encompasses a few hills, many step wells and over 360 temples and palaces. Birth place of the Great Maharana Pratap, this fort is named after another Great Maharana of Mewar, who is not given his due in the History.


Builder of many architectural marvels like the Kumbhalgarh Fort, an erudite scholar, a patron of arts, music, culture & a great warrior was the Great Maharana Kumbha. Yet we don't know much about him. Let's get to know him a little.


Maharana Kumbha was the undefeated King of Mewar from 1433-1468CE.He never lost any battles &kept Mewar out of the reach of Islamic Invaders till the time he was alive. Born on Makar Sakranti to Maharana Mokal & Saubhagya Devi, Rana Kumbha was only 13 when he ascended the throne.


His father was killed by his own relatives in a political conspiracy. He was a powerful King about 8ft tall &charismatic personality,a hardcore Hindu Rajput who could shed his life for Hindu honour without thinking twice.He was an ardent skillful warrior who never lost a battle.

Today is Jayanti of Ahilyabai Holkar

She was a widow who became Malwa's greatest queen. Defended our country & personally led armies into battle.Never plundered anyone. Developed Malwa into a prosperous kingdom. Rebuilt temples destroyed by Mughals. Built Dharmashalas at Tirthas


Unfortunately, her memory has been blemished by inaccurate representations in modern popular media.

The serial "Punyashlok Ahilyabai" depicts her as ultra secularist feminazi icon who questions Hindu rituals & Pandits while patronising Sufis.

This is far from historical truth!


Ahilyabai was born on May 31 1725 to Patil Mankoji Shinde.

She was from Dhangar clan(classified as OBC today). While Dhangars were traditionally into herding, they took up arms & held several military /civil roles in various eras of history(especially during Maratha resurgence)


In 1737, when she was 12, Ahilyabai Holkar was married to Khanderao , son of Subedar Malhar Rao Holkar.

By the time she was married, fortunes of Holkar family had already waxed.

Malhar Rao was a Subedar of territory comprising 30 Parganas yielding a revenue of at least 7 Lakh


In 1741, when Ahilyabai was newly married, her father -in-law Malhar Rao Built Indore palace & ordered the kanungo to populate the settlement with a promise of protection to traders.

This began rise of Indore from its background as modest trading town Indrapuri to a great city

2. This is the first part of a two-part sequence that takes the history of the Islamic world into the present. It emphasizes developments and themes that have particular relevance for later periods.
