Today on #KashmiriHinduExodus_31yrs ,i'd like to share my f…

My Parents use to visit village every weekend to look after their 1 year old daughter.Just few days before 19th Jan 1990,my great grandfather passed away & my Parents had to leave Srinagar & stay in village for 10-15 days. When they came back to Srinagar, they were astonished (2/n)

to see dat their room owner has locked his house & left Kashmir for forever wid all of my Parents’ belongings still inside their rented room. My Parents enquired Owner’s ‘Peaceful’ neighbours about his whereabouts & as usual they told,”V don’t know why they've left Kashmir.”(3/n)

Somehow,my Parents arranged House’s Keys from Owner’s Relative & from that relative,my Parents finally came to know what actually happened on 19th Jan(e.g. slogans like,”We(Peacefuls) will make Kashmir Pakistan with Kashmiri Hindu Women, but without Kashmiri Hindu Men). Now as(4/n)

soon as my Parents entered inside their rented room & switched on d lights in evening,Local Peaceful’s network got alerted & started wondering,”How come this house’s owner has dared to come back to Kashmir after 10-15 days”.Just after 15-20 minutes,my Parents started hearing(5/n)

loud continuous knocks at their door. And when they finally opened the door in fear, they saw 10-15 people in Pheran(Kashmir’s traditional dress which can also b used to hide guns inside that dress easily) with only few of them looking like Kashmiris(coz others were Terrorists(6/n)

from Afghanistan,Pakistan,etc.).Those few Kashmiri looking Peacefuls started enquiring in harsh tone about my Parents’ all info & finally left with an ending message,”If you will need anything in future,do tell us”.But my Parents knew from inside that now they've come under (7/n)

d notice of Itchlamic Terrorists. So in few days,my Parents left that rented room in urgency leaving majority of their belongings there & shifted to another area in Srinagar. Now people've to understand that this was 1990,when there was no mobile phone,no social media & only(8/n)

mode of gathering info about your loved ones was either through a Person from your Village or Post Offices’ Letters(which use to take so many days to send/receive messages),or via Landline Phones(very rare). My Parents could not go back to village as due to frequent curfews, (9/n)

hartals, etc.,roads to their village were frequently closed. So,my Parents started gathering news about family members from village people(they met by chance) in Srinagar. Some of the news,e.g. that my Mummy’s Mama Ji has been killed by Terrorists,my Mama Ji has been tortured(10/n)

for 3 days by Terrorists for coming back to his village again & dat now, there is full chaos in their village & every KP family in their village has left for Jammu. With situation worsening more & more in Srinagar wid increase in KP’s killings, curfews, hartals, anti KP slogans,(11/n)

etc.,my Parents finally decided to leave from Kashmir in a Taxi(assuming their family members might already be there in Jammu). While on the way to Jammu,in Qazigund two terrorists hijacked the Taxi.
At Ramban, when Taxi driver finally gathered some courage & asked Terrorists(12/n)

to leave all of them,Terrorists took out a pistol from their pocket & put that on Driver’s head. Now as soon as Taxi reached Jammu, my Parents(in order to save their life from terrorists) abruptly told Taxi Driver to stop near a hotel. As soon as Terrorists heard that, they (13/n)

also said,”We will also stay in that hotel.”In evening, those terrorists started knocking outside my Parents’ hotel room, but my Parents didn't answer the door & finally my Mummy Papa left the hotel quietly at 3:30am.The next day, when my Parents saw the humongous crowd of KPs(14/n)

at Geeta Bhawan, they finally understood the gravity of the situation. My Parents immediately started searching for their family members in that crowd & finally saw one of their village people who told them, that your family members have still not left & are still there in (15/n)

Kashmir. After hearing this news,my parents’ jaw dropped down(especially my mother’s,thinking about her one year old daughter). With few money left with them, they first went to Pathankot to stay at the house of my Papa’s one of the office Colleagues & started deciding now on (16/n)

what to do next?At first,Papa decided that he will alone go back to Kashmir again to bring back family members.
But my mother(even though after hearing about so many news on atrocities on KP Women by itchlamic Terrorists) rejected that idea & decided to accompany my father.(17/n)

Finally,in few days they again hired a Taxi in night & both went back to Kashmir through shortcut routes avoiding Terrorists’ hotspots. And finally after reaching village,my Parents tried hard to convince all family members(especially elders) to leave Kashmir, but failed.Then(18/n)

after some days just next to our village,Poet Sarvanand Koul Premi & his son was brutally killed with all of their bones broken, eyes gouged out & nails inserted at Tilak’s spot on forehead(Brutally kill one, scare all Policy) by terrorists which was the final trigger point (19/n)

for us & finally,my whole Joint Family left Kashmir for forever in a Truck in midnight. From some of our village people,we came to know that in the next few days the Terrorists had come to look for our family too.And after months,we got the news from our village people, that (20/n)

our house(both maternal & paternal) has been looted & burnt by local Peacefuls. Finally in 2011,we(except our grandparents, both of them who died in exile waiting to see a glimpse of their motherland) went back to our village just to see that only a small sand uphill has been(21/n)

has been left at my maternal’s house land & just one concrete stair has been left at my Paternal’s house land. My Parents(luckily both had Govt. Jobs) were capable enough to start their life from scratch & provide all basic facilities to their kids. But not many of my family(22/n)

members, who were less educated & were mostly into agricultural activities.& still today, majority of my family members still languish at Jagti,KP Camp.& now if you will ask any Kashmiri Peaceful(including Indian Liberals) that,”Why KPs left?”.They will say,”coz of Jagmohan”.(23/n)
